Abstract

This research covers three main aspects, namely the understanding, responses, and religious influence of Islamic religious education study program students on religious moderation. This research uses quantitative research methods and data collection techniques through the distribution of questionnaires, observation, interviews, and documentation. The population and sample in the study included all students of the Islamic religious education study program at STIT At-Taqwa Ciparay-Bandung, using non-probability sampling techniques.The research results show that students' religious understanding is included in the good category, with a frequency of 57 and a percentage of 68%. Meanwhile, religious moderation is included in the quite good category, with a frequency of 39 and a percentage of 46%. Apart from that, the research results also revealed that around 33.1% of the level of religious moderation was influenced by religious understanding, while the remainder, around 66.9%, was influenced by other variables not studied, such as seminar training programs, curriculum based on religious understanding, extracurricular activities. based on religious understanding, mentoring and spiritual guidance, religious studies, integration of religious values in campus life, and so on. This research is important in the context of efforts to increase religious moderation in society.

Abstract

Dogmatisme dalam pembelajaran akidah-akhlak masih menjadi tantangan besar dalam pendidikan Islam, di mana siswa seringkali hanya menerima ajaran secara pasif tanpa memahami esensi nilai-nilai agama secara rasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan pendekatan rasional-kritis dalam pembelajaran akidah-akhlak di MA Hamasatul Muslimin, yang dirancang untuk mengembangkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dan mengatasi dogmatisme. Metode penelitian yan digunakan adalah kualitatif-deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi kelas, wawancara dengan guru, dan analisis dokumen terkait.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru menggunakan strategi seperti skenario rasional, diskusi interaktif, dan tantangan intelektual yang mendorong siswa untuk mengajukan pertanyaan kritis dan menggali makna di balik konsep keimanan. Contohnya, pembahasan tentang keotentikan risalah Nabi Muhammad dan Al-Qur'an dilakukan melalui pendekatan historiografi dan analisis logis. Metode ini berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap konsep akidah, membangun kemampuan berpikir analitis, dan memperkuat keimanan mereka secara rasional.  Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendekatan rasional kritis tidak hanya efektif dalam mengatasi dogmatisme tetapi juga relevan dengan tujuan pendidikan Islam yang memadukan wahyu dan akal. Model ini dapat menjadi rujukan bagi madrasah lain dalam menciptakan generasi siswa yang kritis, rasional, dan berkarakter Islami. Temuan ini membuka peluang untuk penelitian lebih lanjut terkait penerapan model serupa di berbagai konteks pendidikan Islam lainnya. Kata Kunci: Rasional-Kritis, Akidah Akhlak, Dogmatisme

Abstract

This research aims to explore the implementation of a mastery learning approach in enhancing verse comprehension in Al-Qur'an Hadith subjects at MA Hamasatul Muslimin Indonesia. Unlike conventional learning that emphasizes memorization, this study examines a systematic approach that prioritizes deep understanding of verse meanings before proceeding to subsequent materials. The research method employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis utilizes Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis model with triangulation to ensure data validity.The research findings show that mastery learning implementation is conducted through orientation and presentation stages, structured practice in the form of muhadharah, guided practice with teacher assistance and peer tutoring, as well as independent practice through basic competency examinations. This approach creates learning that is not limited by space and time, positioning teachers as facilitators who encourage students' critical and reflective thinking. The findings indicate that the mastery learning approach is effective in developing contextual and applicative understanding of verse meanings, integrating cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensions holistically. This research contributes to the development of understanding-based learning practices in Islamic religious education and can serve as a reference for developing innovative learning strategies in Islamic educational institutions
