Abstract

This study aims to assess the Supporting Capability of the Selili Fishing port in basic, functional and supporting facilities so as to provide useful information to all stakeholders who are doing business at the Selili fish landing base and develop a development strategy for the Selili Fishing port. The method used in this research is descriptive method. Sampling using purposive sampling method by collecting primary data and secondary data. The analysis method used is SWOT analysis to evaluate internal and external factors in developing development strategies. The results of this study indicate that the facilities at PPI Selili can support fisheries activities in Samarinda city. Based on the analysis of internal and external factors, known that Selili Fishing port infrastructure has not been optimally managed. Based on SWOT analysis, the position of PPI Selili is in quadrant I, where in this quadrant is used as a priority strategy, namely improving PPI facilities and optimizing their use by utilizing community & government support. Increase the volume of fish production and optimize its use by utilizing community & government support. Increase the volume of fish production and its quality by strengthening cooperation with fish-producing areas in order to meet the ever-increasing needs of the community. Maximize fish marketing at fish landing sites by expanding the fish marketing and distribution network in the Samarinda City area and other district. Improve and strengthen the quality of human resources of PPI managers and all people who are active in PPI through targeted guidance and training.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the growth of weight, length and specific growth rate, analyze protein retention and fat retention in marbel gooby fed with different live feed. This study used a completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 5 replications, namely; P1 live feeding in the form of tilapia fry; P2 live feeding in the form of freshwater shrimp; P3 live feeding in the form of thousand fish. The feeding method is done in the morning and night. The results of the analysis of variance of the treatment of differences in live feeding on marbel goby were not significantly different from absolute weight growth, total length growth, specific growth rate, feed conversion and protein efficiency ratio. On live feed, thousand fish showed the highest growth value in absolute weight, total length, specific growth rate (P>0.05). The results of the analysis of variance of the treatment of differences in live feeding on marbel goby were not significantly different from protein retention and significantly different from fat retention of marbel goby (P <0.05).

Abstract

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is an essential tool in land surveying. GPS has become an alternative method of surveying that requires less manpower and less time. However, GPS devices are still expensive to buy, especially for students. On the other hand, almost every student has a smartphone with a built-in GPS sensor, so this GPS is certainly accessible to everyone with a smartphone. This study used a smartphone's GPS to conduct land surveying at the campus of Bengkulu University. This smartphone’s GPS was used to track various parameters such as coordinates, elevation, and distance between two or more points to calculate the area within the study area. The innovative method of using the built-in GPS sensor in smartphones will provide convenience for users and introduce simplified open-source software for the land measurement process. The measurement was calibrated using a conventional roll meter to verify the linear error by comparing the two measurements between the smartphone’s GPS and roll meter. The smartphone’s GPS reading was logged using GPS Waypoints and My Tracks, free Android applications on the Google Play store. This study's average error in measurements obtained using GPS on smartphones was 3.02%. This value is sufficient for the initial stage of low-cost land surveys and falls within ideal conditions for GPS measurements. Therefore, this article emphasizes the potential of smartphone GPS to optimize techniques in education and scientific investigations.
