Abstract

Nurse burnout is a significant work-related stress syndrome characterized by emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment. Pandemic COVID-19 has various impacts on health conditions. This study aimed to explore factors related to occupational stress on nurses who provide nursing services during the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 82 cross-sectional original articles and 7 articles were reviewed based on inclusion and exclusion criteria and were retrieved from  Clinical Key, EBSCO, ProQuest, and Wiley Online database with keywords occupational stress, nurse, and Covid-19. The results indicated that some factors that affect occupational stress on nurses who provide nursing services during the Covid-19 pandemic: are workload, anxiety about the risk of occupational hazards, work discomfort, changes in patient conditions, and support system factors. Therefore, various efforts need to be made to overcome the risk of occupational stress experienced by nurses, so that nurses can provide optimal nursing services.

Abstract

Global prevalence data released by WHO (2021) shows a decrease in positive cases of COVID-19 in Indonesia by 18%. One of the government's policy efforts to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus is establishing health protocols, including physical distancing, wearing masks, and hand washing. There is an increase in the number of dormitory residents at one of the western Indonesian universities, which causes a decrease in the effectiveness of implementing health protocols. The study aims to identify the application of health protocols, including physical distancing, wearing masks, and hand washing among nursing students. This study uses descriptive quantitative research methods. The instrument used is an online questionnaire, a random sampling technique with univariate data. The results showed that the 2019 and 2020 nursing students, 232 respondents (99.1%) and two respondents (0.9%) did not apply health protocols properly. In conclusion, most nursing students in Western Indonesian universities applied health protocols. Suggestions for students are expected to be able to maintain and improve the implementation of health protocols in dormitories to prevent the increase in the spread of COVID-19 or other infections. For further research, we are expected to use bivariate analysis to suppress the increase in respiratory infection cases.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is often referred to as the "silent killer" because people with hypertension often do not feel signs and symptoms. In 2022, the incidence of hypertension at the Jalan Kutai Health Center, Bencongan Indah Village, was 2,854 people. The process of monitoring, maintaining, and preventing complications of hypertension requires the role and support of the family to carry out family health tasks. Objective: This study aimed to identify the correlation between economic factors and family health tasks for people with hypertension in Bencongan Indah Village. Methods: This study used a quantitative descriptive research method with a cross-sectional approach and bivariate data analysis. Samples were selected using the purposive sampling method, with a total of 114 participants calculated using the Lemeshow formula. The research instrument was a modified questionnaire with 25 questions that had been tested for validity and reliability. Results: The study found that the ability of families to recognize health problems was still low (58.8%), the ability of families to decide on appropriate health measures was high (71.1%), the ability of families to care for sick family members was high (58.8%), the ability of families to modify the environment was still low (57%), and the ability of families to utilize health facilities was high (52.6%). There was no relationship between economic factors, as described by monthly family income, and family health tasks (p-value > 0.05). Conclusion: It is expected that families will be able to recognize the health problems of sick family members and make changes or modifications to their environment to support the care of family members who face health problems
