Abstract

Perbanyakan kopi secara generatif sering kali mengalami dormansi biji sehingga menyebabkan waktu perkecambahan menjadi lama karena kulit biji yang keras. Kalium nitrat (KNO3) merupakan senyawa kimia yang berpotensi mematahkan dormansi benih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi KNO3 dan lama perendaman yang optimal untuk memutus dormansi benih kopi Robusta. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan tiga kali ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah konsentrasi KNO3 dengan empat taraf yaitu K0 (0%), K1 (0,25%), K2 (0,50%), dan K3 (0,75%). Faktor kedua adalah lama perendaman: L1 = 30 menit, L2 = 45 menit, L3 = 60 menit, dan L4 = 75 menit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi KNO3 berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, sedangkan lama perendaman berpengaruh nyata terhadap hari pecahnya kotiledon. Interaksi antara konsentrasi KNO3 dan lama perendaman berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter laju perkecambahan, indeks vigor, dan panjang akar. Viabilitas benih optimal dicapai pada konsentrasi KNO3 0,25% dan lama perendaman 75 menit.

Abstract

Bougainvillea plant propagation can be done in two ways, namely generatively and artificially vegetatively. The simplest and easiest artificial vegetative propagation is by stem cuttings. Plant propagation using the cutting system is a plant propagation that produces the same characteristics as its parent. The role of the right planting media will help plants to grow and form callus or potential roots. The composition of the plant media that contains sufficient nutrients and has high porosity is a suitable condition for this cutting system propagation. The purpose of this study was to: 1). determine the effect of planting media composition on the growth of bougainvillea plant cuttings; 2). Determine the effect of cutting length on the growth of bougainvillea seedlings; 3). Determine the interaction that occurs between the composition of the planting media and the length of the cuttings on the growth of bougainvillea seedlings. The experimental design methodology used a Complete Randomized Block Design factorial with factor 1 being the composition of the planting media consisting of 3 levels, namely K0 (soil); K1 (soil: compost = 1: 1); K2 (soil: compost: rice husk charcoal = 1: 1: 1). The second factor is P1 (cutting length 15 cm), P2 (cutting length 20 cm), P3 (cutting length 25 cm), P4 (cutting length 30 cm). The results of the study showed that the composition of the planting media had a significant effect on the parameters of shoot growth days, number and length of shoots, number of leaves and roots, root length and percentage of finished seedlings. The length of the cutting had a significant effect on the day of shoot emergence, number of shoots, number of leaves and roots and root length. The interaction showed a positive effect on the day of shoot emergence, number of leaves, root length and percentage of finished seedlings. Abstract

Sweet potato (Ipomea batatas L.) is the staple foods for part of Indonesian frequently found at traditional markets with relatively cheap prices. It has potency for substituting rice. This plant adapts well even in less fertile soil conditions, and is resistant to pests and diseases. This study aims to determine the response of sweet potato to the treatment of tillage and the use of shoots as planting material. This research was carried out in the experimental station of IP2TP Muneng Probolinggo, using a divided plot design (RPB) with tillage consisting of 3 levels, namely no-tillage (T0), minimal tillage (T1), and maximum tillage (T2) and shoot segment subplots. The number of shoot segments consists of 3 levels, namely 2 shoot segments (R1), 4 shoot segments (R2), and 6 segments (R3). Results show that 1) maximum tillage treatment (T2) significantly affected plant length, tuber weight, and tuber length, 2) treatment of 4 shoot buds (R2) significantly affected leaf area, wet stover weight, dry stover weight, tuber length and tuber weight, 3) the combination of maximum soil treatment and 4 segments (T2R2) had a very significant effect on tuber weight.Key words: Tillage, Stem Segment, Sweet Potato

Abstract

Grapes are one of the fruits from sub-tropical regions that have adapted to the climate of the Indonesian region. Increasing grape production needs to be done through various plant propagation techniques considering that grape productivity in Indonesia is still relatively low. One of the plant propagation techniques that can be applied to grapes is cuttings.The aims of the research were: 1) To determine the type of variety that affected the growth of grape cuttings (Vitis vinifera L.), 2) To determine the type of synthetic auxin that affected the growth of grape cuttings (Vitis vinifera L.), 3) To determine whether there was an interaction between varieties and types of auxin on the growth of grape cuttings grape cuttings (Vitis vinifera L.).The study was conducted using a factorial randomized block design (RAK) with 2 factors. The first factor was the type of variety (Kediri Kuning, Prabu Bestari, and Bali varieties) and the second factor was the type of synthetic auxin (IBA, NAA, IAA) which was repeated 3 times.The results showed that: 1) Single-variety treatment had a significant effect on the treatment of the Prabu Bestari (J2) variety on the growth of grape cuttings (Vitis vinifera L.). 2) The single treatment of synthetic auxin had a significant effect on the treatment of auxin IBA (Z1) on the growth of grape cuttings (Vitis vinifera L.). 3) There was an interaction between varieties and synthetic auxins in the combination treatment of Prabu Bestari and NAA (J2Z2) varieties on the growth of grape cuttings (Vitis vinifera L.).Keywords: Types of Varieties, Kinds of Synthetic Auxins, Grape Cuttings.

Abstract

Sengon plants today are often found in rural areas. With a fairly short harvest period, but the harvest is quite a lot. Often processed into raw materials for furniture and other home needs. This research was tried in the 4th to 7th month of 2022 located in Krajan Village, Dringu District, Probolinggo Regency. This study chose RAK as the method. The factors used are two, namely the 1st factor (4 levels) and the 2nd factor (3 levels). This studies intends to: 1) Recognize the consequences of the type of seed irrigation device on the development of sengon seeds. 2) Recognize the consequences of sowing media arrangement on the development of sengon seeds. 3) Recognize the relationship between the consequences the kind of seed irrigation media & the arrangement of sowing media in the growth of sengon seeds.

Abstract

Pengelolaan limbah organik, seperti limbah kulit bawang merah dan sisa sayuran, merupakan tantangan yang dihadapi masyarakat Kecamatan Kanigaran, Kota Probolinggo. Pemanfaatan limbah organik menjadi produk bermanfaat, seperti pupuk organik cair (POC) dan bokashi padat, belum optimal akibat rendahnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kemampuan Tim Penggerak PKK dalam mengolah limbah organik menjadi pupuk yang ramah lingkungan. Program terdiri atas penyuluhan tentang pentingnya pengelolaan limbah, demonstrasi pembuatan POC dari limbah kulit bawang merah, pembuatan bokashi padat dengan sisa sayuran, serta pengaplikasian pupuk pada tanaman. Sebelum pelatihan, hanya 33% peserta yang memiliki keterampilan dasar dalam pengelolaan limbah, namun angka ini meningkat menjadi 86% setelah pelatihan. Peserta mampu mempraktikkan pembuatan pupuk secara mandiri dan memahami manfaat serta aplikasinya dalam mendukung pertumbuhan tanaman. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan peserta secara signifikan dan tingginya minat untuk menerapkan teknik yang dipelajari dalam skala rumah tangga maupun komunitas. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat mendorong terciptanya pertanian berkelanjutan sekaligus mengurangi dampak negatif limbah organik terhadap lingkungan.

Abstract

Jenis tumbuhan dalam keluarga berry sangat beranekaragam. Salah satunya yakni tanaman murbei (Morus sp). Tanaman tersebut sering dibudidayakan melalui proses stek batang. Proses tersebut didukung oleh faktor lingkungan yang baik salah satunya media tanam.  Hal tersebut dikarenakan melalui komposisi media tanamn dapat menghasilkan nutrisi yang dibutuhkan oleh tumbuhan seperti air, udara dan unsur hara. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Maron Kidul Kabupaten Probolinggo. Metode yang dipakai yakni Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial dengan dua faktor yaitu 3 taraf dan 4 taraf. Penelitian ini didaharapkan untuk mengetahui efek pertumbuhan stek tanaman Murbei (Morus sp) terhadap panjang batang pada media tanam.
