Abstract

The purpose of this study was to ascertain how different types of manure and bulbil size affected the growth of porang seedlings. This study used a Randomized Block Design with two factorials, namely, treatment of manure (P) with four kinds, namely chicken manure, cow manure, and goat manure The second factor is the size of bulbil with three types of size such as small (2 - 3,25 gr), medium (6 - 6,85 gr) and big (9 - 9,32 gr). The parameters observed in this study were plant height (cm), stem diameter (cm), leaf width (cm), number of leaves (strands), and percentage of finished seedlings. The results showed that Bulb weight 9 gr – 9.32 gr gives the best average in the plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, number of roots, and percentage of finished seedlings. Goat manure gives the best average for plant height, leaf area, and number of roots. There was an interaction between bulbil weight and type of manure on parameters of plant height.

Abstract

Cabbage is a vegetable that is easily found in traditional and modern markets. Leaf vegetables belonging to the Brassicaceae family, their needs continue to increase with the increasing growth of Indonesia's population, nutritional knowledge and people's purchasing power. Generally, cabbage plants are grown in the highlands. Cabbage production has decreased which could be due to a decrease in the availability of nutrients in the soil so that the right dose of fertilizer is needed to increase production. In addition, the ability to absorb nutrients for each variety of cabbage is different. The purpose of the study of the dose of NPK fertilizer on cabbage varieties was to determine the accuracy of the dose of NPK for cabbage growth; to obtain adaptive varieties in growth and production and to determine the response of NPK doses and varieties of cabbage to the growth and production of cabbage plants. The use of RAK (Randomized Block Design) in the study with factor I was the dose of NPK (D0 = no NPK; D1 = NPK 2 grams / plant; D2 = NPK 2.25 grams / plant; D3 = NPK 2.50 grams / plant) and the second factor is the variety (V1 = Green Nova Cabbage; V2 = Green Coronet Cabbage; V3 = Grand 11 Cabbage). The conclusions of the study were that: 1. The dose of NPK fertilizer had an effect on the parameters of height, number of leaves, and wet weight of the crop 2. Types of varieties affected the parameters of plant height; 3. The dose interaction of 2 grams of NPK/plant (D1 V2) and the green coronet variety gave the best average response of root length. Abstract

Pengelolaan limbah organik, seperti limbah kulit bawang merah dan sisa sayuran, merupakan tantangan yang dihadapi masyarakat Kecamatan Kanigaran, Kota Probolinggo. Pemanfaatan limbah organik menjadi produk bermanfaat, seperti pupuk organik cair (POC) dan bokashi padat, belum optimal akibat rendahnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kemampuan Tim Penggerak PKK dalam mengolah limbah organik menjadi pupuk yang ramah lingkungan. Program terdiri atas penyuluhan tentang pentingnya pengelolaan limbah, demonstrasi pembuatan POC dari limbah kulit bawang merah, pembuatan bokashi padat dengan sisa sayuran, serta pengaplikasian pupuk pada tanaman. Sebelum pelatihan, hanya 33% peserta yang memiliki keterampilan dasar dalam pengelolaan limbah, namun angka ini meningkat menjadi 86% setelah pelatihan. Peserta mampu mempraktikkan pembuatan pupuk secara mandiri dan memahami manfaat serta aplikasinya dalam mendukung pertumbuhan tanaman. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan peserta secara signifikan dan tingginya minat untuk menerapkan teknik yang dipelajari dalam skala rumah tangga maupun komunitas. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat mendorong terciptanya pertanian berkelanjutan sekaligus mengurangi dampak negatif limbah organik terhadap lingkungan.

Abstract

Kyuri (Cucumis sativus L) plants have good economic value and are very much needed for health. In its cultivation, good media and pruning are needed to stimulate the growth of new productive branches which are very much needed in increasing production. This study aims to compare the filter cake planting media and pruning techniques to increase the growth and yield of kyuri cucumber plants. This study used a factorial randomized block design consisting of 2 factors, repeated three times. M1: filter cake and kettle ash (BK), M2 filter cake and rice husk charcoal (BS), M3 Soil, rice husk charcoal and manure (TSK), and M4: Soil and Cocopeat and Manure (TCK). Factor 2: Pruning System, where P1 without pruning, P2 prunes the shoots on the main stem and the shoots of three lateral branches (PP3L), and P3 prunes the shoots on the main stem and the shoots of five lateral branches (PP5L). The variables measured include plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, number of fruits, fruit weight, and fruit length. Data analysis using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with a significance level of 5%. If the ANOVA results show a significant difference, further testing is carried out using the Duncan test with a level of 5%. The best treatment combination is M2P2, namely the use of filter cake planting media: rice husk charcoal 5: 2 and pruning the main stem and three lateral branches which can produce an average plant height of 166.2 cm, Stem Diameter 12.1 mm, Number of Leaves 22.3, Number of Fruits 7.1, Fruit Weight 337.3 kg, Fruit Length 28.4

Abstract

Penelitian ini diselenggarakan dengan maksud untuk mengkaji pengaruh penambahan biochar pada tanah dibawah tegakan bambu terhadap peningkatan seraoan unsur hara pada jaringan tanaman sawi. Interaksi antara empat jenis biochar dan dua varietas tanaman sawi dieksplorasi dalam sebuah penelitian yang diselenggarakan di Desa Jrebeng Wetan, Kedopok, pada periode Januari–April 2024. Penelitian yang dilaksanakan pada ketinggian +7 Mdpl dengan kondisi suhu 26°–32°C dan curah hujan 1800 mm/tahun ini menerapkan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan empat ulangan. Mengacu pada temuan penelitian dapat dinyatakan bahwa pengaruh perlakuan macam biochar dibawah tegakan bambu tidak memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman sawi. Perlakuan macam biochar pada tanah dibawah tegakan bambu memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap akumulasi unsur hara pada jaringan tanaman sawi. Terjadi interaksi antara pemberian macam biochar pada tanah dibawah tegakan bambu dan tanaman sawi terhadap akumulasi unsur hara. Kata kunci: Biochar, Tanah Bawah Tegakan Bambu, Tanaman Sawi.

Abstract

Mango (Mangifera indica L.) is a fruit plant that has great development potential because of its high genetic diversity. Mangoes are popular for their delicious sweet taste once they reach maturity. This research aims to: 1) Find out the effect of giving gibberellin on the growth of Mangifera indica L. grafted seeds. 2) To determine the effect of growth of grafted mango plant seeds (Mangnivera indica L) on scion variants. 3) Find out whether gibberlin and scion varieties affect the growth of grafted mango (Mangifera indica L) seedlings. First hypothesis: 1. The growth of grafted mango plant seedlings (Mangifera indica L) is influenced by the use of gibberellin. 2) The scion variety influences the development of grafted mango plant seeds (Mangifera indica L). 3) The interaction of gibberellin and scion type influences the growth of mango (Mangifera indica L) seedlings after grafting. This study tested the effect of giving gibberlin at three levels and scion varieties at three levels of treatment using a factorial randomized block design (RAK) with two levels. Three copies of the experiment were carried out. The analysis will proceed to the least significant difference test (BNT) at a significance level of 5% if the F test findings show a statistically significant effect.

Abstract

Agricultural extension endeavors in Bocek Village, Karangploso District persist in bolstering agricultural production despite pandemic restrictions. The study scrutinized the communication strategies employed by agricultural extension personnel in disseminating information to farmer groups during the COVID-19 period. The survey methodology, encompassing cell phone interviews and questionnaires, was administered to 30 farmers and extension workers via purposive sampling. Findings indicated that individual face-to-face and cellular telephone-mediated communications were utilized, as group gatherings were curtailed due to restrictions. Alternatives such as farm and home visits were pursued. Farmers continued to adopt recommended technologies and implement provided recommendations, with the performance of agricultural extension falling within a moderate category. Despite challenges, agricultural extension activities persevered amid the pandemic. The messaging conveyed by BPP Karangploso extension workers not only addresses the needs but also employs language that is comprehensible, enabling farmers to readily grasp and respond effectively to the conveyed message.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the response of concentration and soaking time of h2so4 to the germination and growth of robusta coffee beans (coffea canephora). The results of this study were 1) The H2SO4 concentration treatment had a very significant effect on the percentage germination parameter, 2) The long soaking treatment had a significantly different effect on the plant height observation parameters, 3) There was an interaction between the H2SO4 concentration and the soaking time on the observation parameters days after germination and plant height. This research was conducted in Kertosuko Village, Krucil District, Probolinggo Regency. This study used a factorial randomized block design (RBD) research method with 2 factors, namely factor I concentration with 4 treatment levels, factor II soaking time with 3 treatment levels. The analysis used is the mathematical model with the F test, which is followed by the LSD distance test at the 5% level.. Keywords: Coffee Plants, H2SO4, Germination INTISARI Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon konsentrasi dan lama perendaman h2so4 terhadap perkecambahan dan pertumbuhan biji kopi robusta (coffea canephora). Hasil penelitian ini yaitu 1)Perlakuan konsentasi H2SO4 memberikan pengaruh sangat nyata terhadap parameter presentase berkecambah, 2)Perlakuan lama perendaman memberikan pengaruh berbeda nyata terhadap parameter pengamatan tinggi tanaman, 3)Terjadi interaksi antara konsentrasi H2SO4 dan lama perendaman terhadap parameter pengamatan hari setelah berkecambah dan tinggi tanaman. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Kertosuko, Kecamatan Krucil, Kabupaten Probolinggo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan 2 faktor yaitu faktor I Konsentrasi dengan 4 taraf perlakuan, faktor II lama perendaman dengan 3 taraf perlakuan. Analisa yang digunakan yaitu model matematis dengan uji F, yang dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT jarak pada taraf 5%. Kata Kunci : Tanaman Kopi, H2SO4, Perkecambahan

Abstract

This community service aims to utilize shallot peel waste as a basic ingredient for biopesticides. The background of this service is concern about the dominant use of synthetic pesticides by farmers as a strategy for controlling pests and diseases. This strategy is unsustainable in the long term because of its deadly side effects and reactions not only for humans and other animals, but also for non-target plants, organisms around the plants and the environment. In addition, there are also concerns about the development of pest resistance to this synthetic pesticide. The target is farmers in Klaseman Village, Gending District, Probolinggo Regency by utilizing abundant available shallot peeled waste in their sorrounding. The main activities that covers counseling, demonstration of the making process, demonstration of application on plants and witnessing the effectiveness of the application provide positive results in the form of increased knowledge, skills about the benefits of shallot peel waste. Based on the effectiveness of the application of onion peel extract as a vegetable pesticide can inhibit the growth of onion plant pests, it is hoped that in the long term the community will reduce the use of synthetic pesticides and switch to plant-based pesticides. Abstract

Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) memiliki peran penting dalam memperkuat ketahanan ekonomi nasional, namun sebagian besar masih menghadapi kendala pada efisiensi produksi dan pemasaran digital. Salah satunya adalah UKM Bawang Goreng “Rahel” di Desa Pesisir, Kecamatan Sumberasih, Kabupaten Probolinggo, yang mengalami hambatan dalam peningkatan kapasitas produksi, konsistensi kualitas produk, serta strategi pemasaran daring. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan efisiensi produksi, kualitas produk, dan kapasitas pemasaran digital melalui penerapan inovasi teknologi dan pendampingan manajerial. Program dilaksanakan selama lima bulan dengan metode partisipatif-aplikatif yang melibatkan dosen dan mahasiswa Universitas Panca Marga. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi observasi awal, penerapan mesin pengupas, pengiris, dan peniris minyak otomatis, pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi akuntansi berbasis Android, serta pelatihan pemasaran digital. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan kapasitas produksi sebesar 50% (dari 20 kg menjadi 30 kg per hari), penurunan kadar minyak hingga 20%, dan peningkatan omzet penjualan sekitar 30% melalui pemanfaatan platform e-commerce seperti Shopee dan Tokopedia. Dampak program tidak hanya dirasakan oleh mitra, tetapi juga mahasiswa yang memperoleh pengalaman lapangan melalui implementasi program Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). Dengan dukungan teknologi tepat guna dan digitalisasi, UKM Rahel menjadi lebih efisien, mandiri, dan berdaya saing di era ekonomi digital yang sejalan dengan tujuan Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 8) tentang pekerjaan layak dan pertumbuhan ekonomi.  Scale Up of “Rahel” Fried Shallot UKM: Transforming Production and Digital Marketing through Technological Innovation Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in strengthening Indonesia’s national and regional economies. However, most MSMEs still face challenges related to production efficiency and digital marketing capacity. One of them is “Rahel” Fried Shallot MSME located in Pesisir Village, Sumberasih District, Probolinggo Regency, which struggles to increase production capacity, maintain product consistency, and adopt digital-based marketing strategies. This community service program aimed to enhance production efficiency, product quality, and digital marketing skills through the implementation of technological innovation and managerial assistance. The program was conducted for five months using a participatory–applicative approach involving lecturers and students from Universitas Panca Marga. The activities included initial observation, application of automatic peeling, slicing, and oil-draining machines, training on Android-based accounting applications, and digital marketing workshops. The results demonstrated a 50% increase in production capacity (from 20 kg to 30 kg per day), a 20% reduction in oil content, and approximately 30% growth in sales turnover through the utilization of e-commerce platforms such as Shopee and Tokopedia. The program also provided valuable experiential learning opportunities for students participating under the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) scheme. Supported by appropriate technology and digitalization, UKM Rahel has become more efficient, independent, and competitive in the digital era, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8 on decent work and economic growth.
