Abstract

English translation. Instagram is one of the social media in Indonesia that is very popular and widely used by people from various circles. Instagram users in Indonesia by gender are dominated by women, which is 52.6%. While in terms of age, the age group of 18-24 years is the largest user group of 32 million users. Instagram has various advantages in terms of features and appearance that make users feel comfortable and at home for a long time playing Instagram. As a photo and video-based social media, it allows Instagram users, especially women, to compare themselves with others who seem superior to them on Instagram. If this is done continuously, it allows Instagram users to experience mental health disorders such as loss of confidence. This study discusses the effect of the intensity of Instagram social media use on the level of self-confidence among FISIP students of Pancasakti Tegal University using quantitative methods. The research approach in this study is a quantitative approach with survey methods. The population in this study was all FISIP female students who used Instagram, while the number of research samples was 74 female students. Data acquisition is obtained through the distribution of questionnaires. Questionnaire questions refer to research indicators and uses and effect theory. The results obtained in this study are that the working hypothesis (H1) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, because there is an influence of the intensity of Instagram social media use on the level of self-confidence among FISIP students of Pancasakti Tegal University. The resulting effect was 23.6% with a degree of relationship between moderately correlated variables.

Abstract

Children who grow up in orphanages have the same rights as children who are in a family environment. Communication carried out by caregivers to provide motivation to foster children in terms of self-confidence. Based on this, orphanage caregivers need to carry out good communication patterns in increasing the confidence of foster children. The theory used in this study is the theory of social penetration popularized by Irwin Altman and Dalmas Taylor. This theory discusses the development of relationships through 4 stages, namely the orientation stage, the exploratory exchange stage, the affective exchange stage, and the stable exchange stage. This research uses a qualitative approach. Researchers use the constructivist paradigm, where knowledge is the result of human construction. Data collection techniques in this study through direct observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The results showed that the pattern of communication of caregivers to foster children in increasing self-confidence in the Asyiyah orphanage was a wheel pattern, and a star pattern. The relationship between caregivers and foster children goes through 4 stages, namely the orientation stage, the exploratory exchange stage, the affective exchange stage, and the stable exchange stage. Factors that influence the increase in self-confidence in foster children are environmental factors and educational factors.

Abstract

Abstrak. Dalam situasi bencana, jurnalis dianggap mempertaruhkan keselamatannya karena harus melakukan peliputan di zone berbahaya. Penelitian ini mencoba memandang jurnalisme kebencanaan dalam perspektif jurnalis yang memaknai profesionalitasnya ketika melakukan peliputan bencana yang membahayakan keselamatannya. Maka penelitian ini melakukan pendekatan fenomenologis pada jurnalis yang memaknai diri dan profesinya ketika situasi bencana. Pengumpulan data primer dilakukan dengan melakukan wawancara kepada 30 jurnalis dan juga FGD kepada beberapa jurnalis sebagai informan yang memiliki pengalaman pernah melakukan peliputan di lokasi bencana. Penelitian melakukan analisis dengan mencoba menemukan pemaknaan jurnalis dalam meliput bencana secara holistik. Melalui analisis fenomenologis interpretatif (IPA), penelitian mencoba mengeksplorasi bagaimana jurnalis memahami profesinya ketika bencana. Hasil penelitian menghasilkan kategorisasi motif, pengalaman, dan makna jurnalis. Informan mengemukakan sejumlah motif, yakni advokasi dan profesionalitas. Kemudian adanya pengalaman keterancaman pada jurnalis. Pemaknaan diri jurnalis terhadap profesinya perlu didukung oleh regulasi yang dapat menjamin keselamatan jurnalis ketika peliputan di daerah bencana. Abstract. In a disaster situation, journalists are considered to be risking their safety because they have to cover in a dangerous zone. This study tries to view journalism in a disaster situation from the perspective of journalists who interpret their professionalism when covering a disaster that endangers their safety. Therefore, this study uses a phenomenological approach to journalists who interpret themselves and their profession during a disaster situation. Primary data collection was conducted by interviewing 30 journalists and also FGDs with several journalists as informants who have experience covering disaster locations. The study conducted an analysis by trying to find the meaning of journalists in covering disasters holistically. Through interpretive phenomenological analysis (IPA), the study tried to explore how journalists understand their profession during a disaster. The results of the study produced a categorization of motives, experiences, and meanings of journalists. Informants put forward a number of motives, namely advocacy and professionalism. Then there is the experience of being threatened by journalists. The meaning of journalists' self-interpretation of their profession needs to be supported by regulations that can guarantee the safety of journalists when covering disaster areas

Abstract

This study aims to describe how Javanese women's beauty is represented in the TikTok content of @darasarasvati and to analyze how local cultural symbols are reinterpreted within the context of digital aesthetics using Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. Through the analysis of signs consisting of signifiers and signifieds including denotative, connotative, and mythological meanings this study reveals how local cultural symbols such as kebaya, skin tone, traditional music, and captions are reinterpreted through digital visual aesthetics. The findings show that TikTok functions as a space for identity negotiation, where tradition is blended with global trends in an aesthetic and viral format. The kebaya is no longer seen merely as traditional attire but as a symbol of the modern, elegant woman. Bright skin tones, visual filters, and transition effects also reflect the dominance of global beauty standards over local values. This research concludes that social media is not a neutral platform but a site of ideological production that constructs new myths about the ideal Javanese woman: beautiful, cultured, and modern.

Abstract

The increasing competition in the marketing world in various aspects, makes the convection industry must be smart in attracting consumers. The convection industry is required not only to rely on product quality alone, but also requires an effective marketing strategy to build public trust and loyalty. This study focuses on the digital marketing communication strategy of Simple Cloth Industry. The problem that arises in this study is the need for uniforms, sashes, work shirts and other convections that require a trusted convection. Simple Cloth Industry has a great opportunity to market its convection business by providing direct offers and making Instagram the best portfolio in its business. This research method uses qualitative descriptive with the marketing mix theory from Kotler & Keller. Data collection techniques are obtained from the results of observations and interviews with Simple Cloth Industry. This study shows that Simple Cloth Industry has used Instagram in accordance with the theory of Kotler & Keller regarding the marketing mix, namely product optimization, price, location and promotion. Thus Simple Cloth Industry can develop until now because of the digital promotion that continues to grow. This study also found that Simple Cloth Industry has succeeded in creating strong relationships with customers through the use of structured and consistent social media so that relationships are well established.

Abstract

Digital media such as YouTube has become a new means of conveying social and political issues narratively. The Front Door Podcast (PDP) hosted by Kaesang Pangarep utilizes narrative communication as an approach to educate the public in a light and informative style. This study aims to analyze the narrative communication in Podcasts, as well as the impact of the content presented to the audience. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with observation and content analysis techniques which use Tzvetan Todorov's narrative theory with three stages: initial situation, conflict, and resolution. The results of the study show that the narrative in the PDP discusses a lot about the world of politics. This can attract the idea of the audience so that they can think positively and be able to educate and entertain the audience, as well as improving and also having educational value and shaping people's perspective on social and political issues.

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan bersama Kelompok Batik Ciprat Mejasem Timur, Kabupaten Tegal, yang terdiri dari penyandang disabilitas dengan keterbatasan fisik maupun sensorik dan sorang tua penyandang disabilitas. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kapasitas kelompok melalui penguatan manajemen usaha, pengembangan inovasi produksi, dan pemanfaatan digital marketing dengan pendekatan co-creation. Metode pelaksanaan program meliputi beberapa tahap: (1) persiapan melalui sosialisasi dan koordinasi dengan mitra, (2) pelaksanaan pelatihan meliputi manajemen usaha, teknik pewarnaan alami, batik cap ciprat, serta pemasaran digital, (3) pendampingan penerapan keterampilan yang diperoleh, dan (4) keberlanjutan melalui penataan organisasi, monitoring, evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam literasi manajerial, variasi produk batik ciprat dengan motif khas Mejasem Timur, serta keterampilan pemasaran digital melalui pengelolaan media sosial, katalog digital, dan video profil sinematik. Dampak sosial juga terlihat dari peningkatan kepercayaan diri anggota, pengurangan stigma terhadap penyandang disabilitas, dan penguatan solidaritas komunitas. Program ini terbukti tidak hanya memberdayakan kelompok secara ekonomi, tetapi juga memperkuat posisi sosial mereka dalam masyarakat. Dengan demikian, pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberdayaan berbasis co-creation melalui inovasi produksi dan pemasaran digital mampu menjadi model efektif dalam mendukung kemandirian kelompok disabilitas serta mewujudkan desa inklusi yang berdaya dan berkelanjutan.
