Abstract

Abstract The prevalence of hypertension during pregnancy is 2.6 - 7.3% of all pregnancy incidents which can have risks for pregnant women, which is usually called the Maternal Mortality Rate (AKI). Hypertension during pregnancy is one of the causes of maternal death which can be detected early through a urine protein test. Urine protein is an important sign of preeclampsia which is caused by the kidney tubules not having optimal capacity to absorb protein. Based on research by Wulandari et al (2022) which states that there is a significant relationship between urine protein and blood pressure levels in TM III pregnant women at the Madukara I Banjarnegara Community Health Center with p=0.003. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between the incidence of hypertension and urine protein in pregnant women in TM III at RSUD dr. Soedirman Kebumen. The research method used Observational Analytical through a Cross-Sectional design with a sample of 40 people, carried out in May - July 2023 at the Laboratory of RSUD dr. Soedirman Kebumen. Based on this research, a value of p=0.052 (p>0.05) was obtained, so it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between the incidence of hypertension and urine protein in TM III pregnant women at Dr. Soedirman Hospital, Kebumen. Keywords: Hypertension, Third Trimester pregnant women, urine protein.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease characterised by elevated blood glucose levels ≥ 200 mg/dl due to metabolic disorders. Insulin resistance triggers a blood glucose imbalance, resulting in no energy supply needed by the body's cells. The condition of DM is destructive to the body and, therefore, needs to be measured with stable parameters for the long term. HbA1c is a standard clinical examination used as a determinant of glycaemic status in DM disease. C-reactive protein (CRP) level is an effective parameter in determining the index of damage or inflammation that occurs in the body due to DM. This study aims to determine the relationship between HbA1c levels and CRP levels in patients with diabetes mellitus at Dr. Sardjito Hospital. Twenty patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were included in this study using the purposive sampling technique. HbA1c data and CRP levels were analysed with the Spearman correlation test. The Pearson correlation test results showed a p-value = 0.001 and an r-value = 0.705. There is a relationship between HbA1c levels and CRP levels in DM patients at RSUD Dr. Soedirman Kebumen.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis is a disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Treatment for tuberculosis patients is given in the intensive and advanced stages. Anti-tuberculosis drugs can be nephrotoxic to cells in the kidneys. This research is an analytic observational study to know the comparison of urea and creatinine levels in pulmonary tuberculosis patients in the 0 and 6-month treatment phases at the Community Lung Health Center Purwokerto. The samples studied were 42 respondents who were taken by accidental sampling. This study was conducted from December 2021 to January 2022. Out of the 42 pulmonary tuberculosis patients who received treatment at 0 and 6 months, the majority of pulmonary tuberculosis patients were 28 patients (66.7%) had normal urea levels, and 38 patients (90.5 %) had normal creatinine levels. Urea levels in pulmonary tuberculosis patients during the 0-month treatment phase were 9 (2-24) mg/dL, while in the 6-month treatment phase, it was 8 (1-37) mg/dL. The creatinine level of pulmonary tuberculosis patients with 0-month treatment phase was 0.98 (0.64-1.62) mg/dL, while in the 6-month treatment phase it was 0.88 (0.62-1.92) mg/dL. There was no significant comparison of urea and creatinine levels in pulmonary tuberculosis patients with treatment phases 0 and 6 months (p>0.05).

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease and a major public health issue in Indonesia and around the world. Proteinuria caused by diabetes in the blood vessels can cause kidney damage. Diabetes can also cause nerve damage in the body. This can make urinating difficult. The pressure caused by a full bladder can harm the kidneys. If urine remains in the bladder for a longer duration, it can cause an infection due to the rapid growth of bacteria in urine with a high sugar level, even if the presence of protein in the urine has been tested in a laboratory. Objective: The study aimed to determine the difference in the results of urine protein examination with the dipstick method with the 6% acetic acid method in DM patients in the working area of Puskesmas (Public Health Center) Baturraden II. Methods: The research design used was analytic observational with a cross-sectional study. Thirty urine samples were used with purposive sampling as the sampling technique. Chi-Square Test was employed for Statistical Analysis. The results of the tests produced a significant value of 0.000 (P 0,0 5), indicating that the p-value was lower in relation to the degree of error. It could be concluded that the results of urine protein examination using the dipstick method and the 6% acetic acid method differed in DM patients.

Abstract

One of the body's organs, the kidney serves a vital purpose in the excretory and secretory systems. Excretion is the removal of waste products from the body's metabolism, and secretion is the release of chemicals and hormones that are involved in the metabolism of the body. Kidney failure is a condition brought on by kidney damage and is further broken down into acute and chronic forms. Long-lasting kidney damage carries a higher risk to one's health. Hemodialysis is a type of dialysis that helps the kidneys perform their normal functions by removing waste and toxic substances that build up in the blood. This study is analytical observational with a cross-sectional design and a sample of patients with chronic kidney failure at RSUD (Regional Public Hospital) dr. R. Goeteng Taroenadibrata Purbalingga. Non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling method was the sampling technique used. This study compared the urea levels in patients with chronic kidney failure before and after hemodialysis. According to the results of the study, there is a significant difference between urea levels before and after hemodialysis, which had a p-value of 0.003 (sig 0.05).

Abstract

Typhoid fever is an acute infection of the small intestine caused by the bacteria S. typhi and S. paratyphi. This study aims to evaluate the results of typhoid fever testing using the Widal slide method and the Rapid test IgG IgM method at Dr. R. Goeteng Taroenadibrata Hospital in Purbalingga. Conducted in May 2024 with an observational analytic design and a cross-sectional approach, the sample consisted of 18 patients with typhoid fever. Widal slide examination results using O antigen reagent at RSUD dr. R.Goeteng Taroenadibrata, Purbalingga Regency, there titer 1/160 from 16 respondents (100%). Results of the IgG IgM Rapid test using O antigen at RSUD dr. R. Goeteng Taroenadibrata, Purbalingga Regency, there were 13 respondents (81.2%) IgG negative cases, 3 respondents (18.8%) had IgG positive cases, and 3 respondents (18.8%) had IgM negative cases, 13 IgM positive cases. respondents (81.2%). There was no difference in the results of the Widal slide examination and the Rapid IgG IgM test using O antigen in respondents at RSUD dr. R. Goeteng Taroenadibrata, Purbalingga Regency with p rate = 0.01 (P= < 0.05). Similarly, Fisher's test for IgG IgM yielded a P value of 0.04, So it can be concluded that there is a difference in the results of the Widal slide examination and the results of the IgM Rapid test.
