Abstract

Abstract The prevalence of hypertension during pregnancy is 2.6 - 7.3% of all pregnancy incidents which can have risks for pregnant women, which is usually called the Maternal Mortality Rate (AKI). Hypertension during pregnancy is one of the causes of maternal death which can be detected early through a urine protein test. Urine protein is an important sign of preeclampsia which is caused by the kidney tubules not having optimal capacity to absorb protein. Based on research by Wulandari et al (2022) which states that there is a significant relationship between urine protein and blood pressure levels in TM III pregnant women at the Madukara I Banjarnegara Community Health Center with p=0.003. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between the incidence of hypertension and urine protein in pregnant women in TM III at RSUD dr. Soedirman Kebumen. The research method used Observational Analytical through a Cross-Sectional design with a sample of 40 people, carried out in May - July 2023 at the Laboratory of RSUD dr. Soedirman Kebumen. Based on this research, a value of p=0.052 (p>0.05) was obtained, so it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between the incidence of hypertension and urine protein in TM III pregnant women at Dr. Soedirman Hospital, Kebumen. Keywords: Hypertension, Third Trimester pregnant women, urine protein.

Abstract

Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pulmonary TB has become a health problem worldwide, including in Indonesia, because the sufferers' prevalence is increasing every year. The increase in TB drug resistance will pose a severe health threat. The continuous consumption of drugs in large quantities and high doses can affect the function of the thyroid gland. This study aimed to determine the levels of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) in pulmonary tuberculosis patients with treatment phases of 0 months and six months. This research is analytical observational research with a cross-sectional research design. The sampling method uses accidental sampling. A total of 42 respondents participated in this study to determine the levels of TSH in pulmonary TB. The results of the Mann-Whitney U test showed no difference in TSH levels in pulmonary TB patients with different treatment phases of 0 months and six months (p = 0.3). There was no significant difference between TSH levels in pulmonary TB patients in the 0 and 6-month treatment phases.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis is a disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Treatment for tuberculosis patients is given in the intensive and advanced stages. Anti-tuberculosis drugs can be nephrotoxic to cells in the kidneys. This research is an analytic observational study to know the comparison of urea and creatinine levels in pulmonary tuberculosis patients in the 0 and 6-month treatment phases at the Community Lung Health Center Purwokerto. The samples studied were 42 respondents who were taken by accidental sampling. This study was conducted from December 2021 to January 2022. Out of the 42 pulmonary tuberculosis patients who received treatment at 0 and 6 months, the majority of pulmonary tuberculosis patients were 28 patients (66.7%) had normal urea levels, and 38 patients (90.5 %) had normal creatinine levels. Urea levels in pulmonary tuberculosis patients during the 0-month treatment phase were 9 (2-24) mg/dL, while in the 6-month treatment phase, it was 8 (1-37) mg/dL. The creatinine level of pulmonary tuberculosis patients with 0-month treatment phase was 0.98 (0.64-1.62) mg/dL, while in the 6-month treatment phase it was 0.88 (0.62-1.92) mg/dL. There was no significant comparison of urea and creatinine levels in pulmonary tuberculosis patients with treatment phases 0 and 6 months (p>0.05).

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that attacks the lungs and is caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The GeneXpert RT-PCR examination (Xpert MTB / RIF) is a development of a diagnostic tool that can automatically detect the presence of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) by molecular examination and can be used to detect MTB resistance to rifampicin. Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) is a test used to determine the rate at which erythrocytes settle in the blood. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between GeneXpert RT-PCR results and ESR in suspected tuberculosis patients. This research uses a cross-sectional study. The sample used in this study were 56 new suspected TB patients who had never been treated for ATD and underwent GeneXpert RT-PCR examination. Sampling was carried out by purposive sampling with the TCM Rif Sen group and negative results. A total of 27 patients (96.4%) with Rif Sen's GeneXpert RT-PCR results had high ESR values. 15 patients (53.6%) with negative GeneXpert RT-PCR results had normal ESR values. The results of the Chi Square test (X2) show that p-value = 0.000 OR = 0.032. There is a significant relationship between GeneXpert and ESR values in suspected tuberculosis

Abstract

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, tasteless, and odorless gas, but in high concentrations in the blood, it can cause death. One of the CO2 can come from cigarette smoke. When cigarette smoke is inhaled, the affinity of CO with the blood is stronger than for oxygen, and this will increase the carboxyhemoglobin (HbCO) in the blood. Passive smokers who are often near active smokers will inhale cigarette smoke. This study aims to compare HbCO levels in the blood between active and passive smokers of Bulupitu terminal workers, Banyumas Regency. This was an analytical observational study with six active and six passive smokers who are terminal workers. All active and passive smokers samples had HbCO concentrations above the normal HbCO threshold of 3.5%. The measurement results showed the average HbCO level of smokers was 5.87%. Determining differences in HbCO levels in the blood of active and passive smokers was conducted using the Independent Test (p-value = 0.370). This value shows no significant difference in blood HbCO levels in active and passive smokers.
