Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of guided inquiry-based worksheet development workshops in enhancing teachers’ pedagogical competence and instructional innovation in chemistry education. The primary objective was to evaluate both cognitive and attitudinal changes among teachers following structured training. A mixed-methods design was employed, combining pre- and post-tests with in-depth interviews to provide a comprehensive assessment of training outcomes. Quantitative analysis using paired t-tests demonstrated a significant improvement in teachers’ knowledge and skills in designing guided inquiry-based worksheets. Qualitative findings supported these results, highlighting increased confidence, positive attitudes toward student-centered learning, and the recognition of inquiry as a powerful approach to foster active engagement. The integration of both data sources revealed that the workshops not only improved technical competence but also shaped reflective practices and motivation for pedagogical renewal. These findings underscore the potential of guided inquiry-based training to strengthen teacher professionalism and to contribute to the broader advancement of innovative practices in science education. Future research is encouraged to explore larger populations and long-term impacts to ensure sustainability of the training outcomes.

Abstract

This study explores the empowerment of science teachers through training in the development of Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media, recognizing the increasing demand for innovative digital tools to improve teaching quality in science education. The objective was to enhance teachers’ technological literacy, pedagogical skills, and motivation to integrate AR into classroom practice. A quasi-experimental design was employed, combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data collection consisted of pre-test and post-test assessments to measure knowledge improvement, classroom observations to evaluate teacher engagement, and interviews to capture perceptions and experiences. Quantitative analysis indicated a substantial increase in teachers’ understanding and practical competence in designing AR learning materials. Participants successfully produced high-quality AR media aligned with curriculum objectives, demonstrating improved creativity and technological confidence. Qualitative findings supported these results, showing that teachers perceived AR as an effective tool for simplifying abstract science concepts, fostering student engagement, and encouraging active learning. Moreover, the training provided opportunities for collaborative professional development, creating a supportive environment for innovation. The study contributes to the growing body of literature on digital-based teacher development by providing empirical evidence of AR’s potential to transform instructional practices. It also suggests that future research should focus on long-term implementation, sustainable training models, and the impact of AR adoption on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Sustainable chemistry education requires innovative approaches that connect learning materials to real-life contexts while fostering environmental awareness. One promising strategy is the utilization of household waste as a source of learning materials. This study aimed to develop a chemistry learning model based on household waste and to analyze its effects on students’ conceptual understanding, creativity, and environmental responsibility. The research employed a pre-test and post-test design with the same group. Quantitative data were obtained through conceptual understanding tests, while qualitative data were collected through classroom observations and in-depth interviews. Data analysis involved calculating the N-gain to measure learning improvement and interpreting qualitative findings for deeper insights. The results revealed a significant increase in students’ conceptual understanding, with average N-gain scores categorized as medium to high. Qualitative findings further indicated that students were more motivated, perceived the learning as contextual and meaningful, and demonstrated enhanced critical thinking skills and creativity. Integrating household waste into chemistry lessons proved relevant to the demands of 21st-century scientific literacy and showed potential to support sustainable education by promoting environmentally responsible attitudes. These findings highlight the importance of locally contextualized strategies in strengthening academic achievement while simultaneously shaping students’ character, suggesting broader adoption in chemistry education practices.

Abstract

Classroom management is all the teacher's activities in the classroom to create and maintain optimal classroom conditions for the teaching and learning process to occur to increase student interest in learning. However, the homeroom teacher at MTs Mamba'ul Barokah NW when the teaching and learning process in the class did not carry out class management properly which caused a lack of interest in student learning. The purpose of the research in this thesis is to find out the classroom management strategy in increasing student interest in learning, the implementation of class management in increasing student learning interest, and the constraints and efforts of class management in increasing student learning interest. The type of research used in this study was qualitative research in descriptive form, the subjects in this study were homeroom teachers and class VII students. Data collection techniques namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that: 1) The classroom management strategy in increasing student interest in learning is by carefully preparing all learning tools in the form of lesson plans using various learning methods and bringing students into the real world so that learning becomes fun and not boring. 2) The implementation of classroom management in increasing student interest in learning is that the teacher uses a variety of teaching methods and continues to develop learning models that are appropriate and ready to help students so that student learning interest increases and maximum learning results are achieved. 3) Obstacles and classroom management efforts in increasing student interest in learning are during the last hour of learning and when the subject matter is considered difficult by students, as well as constraints in terms of limited media provision, this causes student learning interest to decrease.

Abstract

Learning a language is essentially learning to communicate. Indonesian language education is an important aspect that needs to be taught to students in schools. This study aims to improve the Indonesian language learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at MI NW Bungtiang through the application of active learning methods. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a classroom action research (CAR) design in two cycles. The subjects were all 17 fifth-grade students. The Power of Two type of active learning method was used in the learning intervention. Data collection techniques included observation and learning outcome tests. Data analysis was carried out through normality, linearity, homogeneity tests, and analysis of pretest and posttest results. The results showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes after the application of active learning methods. In addition, students showed increased participation, motivation, and enthusiasm in participating in the learning process. Thus, active learning methods have been proven effective in improving students' Indonesian language learning outcomes and can be a recommended learning strategy to be implemented at the elementary education level, especially in teaching Indonesian.

Abstract

This study explores family economic empowerment through the utilization of digital technologies in online trading. The main objective is to examine how digital platforms, particularly e-commerce, influence household income, entrepreneurial participation, and internal family dynamics. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining surveys of family households with semi-structured interviews and observational data, to comprehensively analyze the adoption and impact of digital tools on economic outcomes. The results indicate that families engaged in online selling experience significant increases in household income, averaging 30–45%, alongside diversification of business activities and enhanced involvement of family members, particularly women, in decision-making processes. Digital literacy, market accessibility, and community collaboration emerge as critical factors driving successful adoption, while limitations in infrastructure, financial resources, and competitive pressures present notable challenges. The discussion highlights the mechanisms through which digital technologies foster financial inclusion, entrepreneurial skill development, and broader market access, thereby supporting sustainable household empowerment. In conclusion, digital technologies serve as a transformative instrument for family economic empowerment, promoting income growth, business diversification, and social resilience. The study underscores the need for targeted digital literacy programs, infrastructure development, and community support initiatives to maximize the benefits of online trading, providing a practical framework for policymakers and practitioners aiming to enhance household economic sustainability.
