Abstract

Abstract

This research analyzes the dynamics of entrepreneurship in Jakarta using theoretical concepts from Pierre Bourdieu, especially the concepts of "arena", "capital", and "habitus". Through this research, we identified Jakarta government programs that support the growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, analyzed the challenges faced by Jakarta entrepreneurs, and evaluated the government's strategy in overcoming these challenges. Focusing on the Jakpreneur program and other initiatives, we found that while government efforts have increased accessibility and support for entrepreneurship, challenges remain such as bureaucratic complexity, limited access to capital, and inadequate infrastructure. The government's strategy to overcome these challenges includes providing infrastructure, digitizing public services, empowering MSMEs, supporting technology and innovation, and paying attention to environmental aspects. The implication of this research is the importance of collaboration between the government, private sector and society in building a dynamic and growing entrepreneurial environment, as well as providing a positive impact on the economic growth of Jakarta and Indonesia as a whole.

Abstract

This research is based on the legalization of the Full Day School (FDS) learning system in July 2017 which has been stipulated in the Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Indonesia Nomor 23 Tahun 2017 tentang Hari Sekolah . Although initially the full day school system was considered to have a positive impact on students, the implementation of full day school also encountered several obstacles which in turn would have a negative impact, one of which was the lack of interaction between students and family members and the lack of socialization of students with the community. the environment where he lives. The research method used to write this article uses a quantitative approach with data collection methods derived from library research to find out in more detail the impact of implementing a full day school system in schools for students.

Abstract

The phenomenon of school dropout remains a serious issue in Indonesia’s education system, particularly in urban poor areas such as Kampung Petukangan, East Jakarta. This study aims to understand how poverty, both in its absolute and relative forms, contributes to children's decisions to leave school, as well as how the education system plays a role in reproducing social inequality. Using a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and limited participant observation, the research was conducted with five informants, consisting of school dropouts and their parents. The analysis draws on Pierre Bourdieu’s theoretical concepts, including habitus, capital, field, symbolic violence, and social reproduction. The findings indicate that dropping out of school is not merely an individual decision, but the result of a complex interaction between economic structures, the habitus of poor families, a lack of social and cultural capital, and symbolic mechanisms within the education system that subtly exclude disadvantaged children. Instead of serving as a tool for social mobility, school functions as an arena that reproduces class inequality across generations.
