Abstract

This research focuses on exploring the effectiveness of the Describing Picture Strategy in teaching speaking skills to students. The study aims to enhance students' English-speaking abilities by employing visual aids such as pictures during the learning process. The qualitative research design was utilized, and data were collected through interviews and observations with an English teacher at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Banjarmasin. The findings demonstrate that using pictures as speaking prompts can improve pronunciation, vocabulary retention, and overall language confidence. Additionally, picture-based activities engage students and create a more enjoyable learning experience. The study recommends that English teachers integrate the Describing Picture Strategy in their teaching approaches to foster active classrooms and enhance students' interest and proficiency in speaking English. However, the research acknowledges the need for further investigation to address certain limitations and refine the strategy for optimal results.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendekripsikan program ekstrakurikuler drama sebagai upaya peningkatan literasi dan teknologi siswa SD Negeri Ngargotirto 4. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian kualitatif. Subyek pada penelitian ini terdiri dari guru kelas, kepala sekolah, dan para siswa. Pengumpulan data hasil penelitian menerapkan teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat beberapa siswa SD Negeri Ngargotirto 4 yang belum lancar dan belum bisa dalam membaca dan menulis. Dari hal tersebut program ekstrakurilikuler drama diterapkan sebagai upaya peningkatan literasi dan teknoligi siswa SD Negeri Ngargotirto 4 agar para siswa dapat lebih giat dalam belajar membaca dan menulis. Kegiatan ekstrakurilikuler drama dapat berupa pelatihan literasi dan pelatihan teknologi. Dalam upaya peningkatan literasi dan teknologi siswa SD Negeri Ngargotirto 4 melalui penerapan program ekstrakurikuler drama masih ditemukan beberapa kendala yang menjadi penghambat keberhasilan terbentuknya kemampuan literasi dan teknologi siswa di SD Negeri Ngargotirto 4. Salah satu kendala yang ditemukan adalah karakter siswa sekolah dasar yang terdiri dari berbagai macam mulai dari siswa yang aktif, ceria, dan pendiam, apalagi siswa sekolah dasar merupakan masa yang dapat dibilang sebagai masa yang para siswanya masih sangat perlu dituntun dan dibimbing dengan penuh kesabaran dan hati-hati karena sifatnya yang masih berubah dan sering menangis dan mengamuk.

Abstract

In order to develop Islamic character through cooperation and brotherhood, the Community Service Program (PPM) becomes an effective approach. PPM involves collaboration between schools and external partners, in this case, International Partnerships (KI), to improve the quality of education and the formation of Islamic character. Within the framework of cooperation with KI, schools can adopt best practices from international educational institutions and implement them in the school environment. Through various activities and learning, schools can create opportunities for children to interact, cooperate, and build brotherhood with their peers. Through this process, children can learn to respect, support, and understand each other, as well as develop inclusive and caring attitudes. This research will use qualitative research methods with a case study approach. This method will allow researchers to gain a deep understanding of the role of schools in shaping the Islamic character of children, with a focus on cooperation and brotherhood in the school environment.

Abstract

Information technology has become essential in human life. Coping with this era requires a new literacy that leverages digital tools to enhance literacy skills. By acquiring digital literacy, it is hoped that students can become more critical and creative in selecting information. In education, digital literacy plays a vital role in developing learning materials that foster students curiosity and creativity. Learning media is indispensable for teachers in facilitating the learning process. Learning media plays a crucial role in helping teachers explain learning concepts effectively in the classroom. Learning the Indonesian language in elementary schools plays a significant role in developing language skills such as reading, writing, and listening. In this research, the researchers employed the classroom action research (CAR) method, aimed at addressing problem-solving or making improvements at SDN 02 Baleharjo, Pacitan. The study involved 20 fifth-grade students, comprising 10 male students and 10 female students. The research results indicate that the effectiveness of audiovisual learning media in improving digital literacy competence in Indonesian language learning can increase, resulting in better outcomes compared to learning without the use of audiovisual media.

Abstract

This Classroom Action Research (PTK) is based on the results of research regarding efforts to improve literacy learning achievement in digital literacy of third-grade through the learning medium "Wordwall" at Pajang III State Elementary School. The aim of this research is to improve students digital literacy outcomes through the use of "Wordwall" media. Classroom Action Research (PTK) was carried out in two cycles. The subjects of this research were 24 third-grade students at Pajang III State Elementary School. The instruments used in this research include classroom observations, questionnaires, and digital literacy skills tests using the learning medium "Wordwall." This can be seen in the significant increase in the percentage of students who use "Wordwall" media for learning. In the first cycle, the average percentage of student learning outcomes was 41%, but increased to 83% in the second cycle. From the analysis of research data, it can be concluded that there has been a significant increase in student learning outcomes in digital literacy using "Wordwall" media.
