Abstract

Indonesian language learning at all levels of education is to provide teaching or guidance for students to be able to apply Indonesian in various aspects. One of the basic competencies taught in Senior High Schools, especially for grade XI students and related to reading skills, is reading news texts briefly, concisely, and clearly. Learning to read news texts is in line with the objectives of learning Indonesian Language and Literature, namely to improve students' ability to communicate both orally and in writing and to obtain various accurate information. This study aims to determine the improvement in learning outcomes in reading news texts in grade XI MIPA 5 students of SMA Negeri 3 Bone, totaling 37 students through the application of the STAD (Student Teams Achievement Division) method. This type of research is classroom action research (PTK) or classroom action research. Data collection techniques used through observation, interviews, tests and documentation. The data obtained are then analyzed, the data used in this study is qualitative and quantitative descriptive data analysis techniques. Process data is analyzed qualitatively and student test result data is analyzed quantitatively. The results of the study indicate that through the application of the STAD method, it can improve the efficient learning process in learning to improve news text reading skills in grade XI MIPA 5 students of SMA Negeri 3 Bone.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' listening skills through the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) learning model on short story learning materials for class XI Baik SMAN 1 Pangkep. Students' short story listening skills are still very low because students are less interested in learning and do not understand the intrinsic and extrinsic elements in more depth in short stories. The use of models and media that are less interesting makes students bored. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which aims to improve the quality or problem solving in the subjects studied and observe the level of success or consequences of their actions, to then receive additional actions which are improvements to the action. In the pre-cycle, the average student score was 45 and 4 students or 11% achieved the KKM. In cycle 1, the average student score was 64 and 10 students or 28% achieved the KKM. The average student score in cycle 2 increased by 81 and 33 students or 92% achieved the KKM. Based on the results of the research and discussion above, it can be concluded that the use of the Think-Pair-Share model can improve the listening skills of grade XI Baik students of SMAN 1 Pangkep. Research data conducted during the pre-cycle stage to cycle 2 showed different results. Each cycle showed an increase in student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Indonesian Language and Literature Education, Faculty of Letters, Indonesian Muslim University. (Supervised by Nurmiah Muin and Andi Puspitasari. This research aims to improve student learning outcomes. Using the Synectic Model in learning can improve students' writing abilities as expected for Class XI IPA 5 SMA 2 Barru students. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK). Classroom action research aims to improve the quality or solve problems in the subjects studied by observing the level of success or consequences of their actions, to then receive additional actions which are improvements to actions or adjustments to conditions and situations in order to achieve better results. The average student score was 64 and 4 people reached the KKM or 12%. In cycle I the average score of students was 75,73 and 11 people reached the KKM or 32%. The average score of students in the second cycle increased by 83,14 and reached KKM was 31 students or 92%. Based on the results of the research and discussion above, it can be concluded that Opinion Writing Skills Using the Synectic Model can improve the learning outcomes of opinion writing for XI IPA 5 students at SMA Negeri 2 Barru. From research data conducted during the pre-cycle stage to cycle 2, we noticed different results. Where each cycle pays attention to student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Tujuan PKM ini adalah untuk memberi pengetahuan dan keterampilan melalui penilaian Formatif kepada siswa sekolah SMA Negeri 13 Maros. Melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan, siswa diharapkan memiliki motivasi, minat dan hasil belajar dengan metode dan strategi mengajar yg sesuai dengan karakteristik siswa. Selain itu, dengan pemberian pelatihan keterampilan dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, dapat meningkatkan kreatifitas dalam rangka pengembangan aspek psikomotorik siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini adalah metode pelatihan partisipatif, dengan model ceramah, diskusi, dan praktek pelaksanaan penilaian formatif. Target khusus yang akan dicapai pada kegiatan program kemitraan masyarakat adalah terjadinya peningkatan pemahaman, pengetahuan dan keterampilan siswa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya penilaian di atas 92% peningkatan motivasi belajar. Minat belajar siswa setelah diadakan pelatihan terjadi peningkatan signifikan di atas 90%, terdapat nilai hasil belajar mengalami peningkatan di atas 95%. Oleh karena itu kegiatan pelatihan dianggap tercapai dengan metode dan strategi mengajar dengan metode PAIKEM. Hasil pelatihan juga menunjukkan bahwa respon siswa juga terlihat positif karena mereka cenderung lebih bersemangat apabila guru tidak sekedar mengajar, tetapi juga memberikan penilaian formatif dan juga tidak pelit memberikan pujian.

Abstract

This study investigates the learning barriers and needs of Indonesian Language and Literature Education (PBSI) students at the Faculty of Letters, Muslim University of Indonesia (UMI), in the context of writing scientific papers, proposals, and theses. Adopting a descriptive qualitative approach supplemented by quantitative questionnaire data, the research gathered insights through structured questionnaires, informal interviews, and classroom observations. The findings indicate that students encounter multifaceted challenges stemming from both internal factors such as low motivation, limited academic writing exposure, and self-efficacy concerns and external factors, including constrained time due to family and work responsibilities, a lack of standardized thesis guidelines, and minimal mentoring support. Despite recognizing the importance of robust academic writing skills, students frequently struggle with topic selection, constructing cohesive frameworks, and selecting appropriate research methods. These obstacles underscore the need for more practice-oriented instruction, continuous feedback loops, and comprehensive institutional support mechanisms. Recommendations include incorporating structured mentorship programs, providing faculty-wide writing manuals, and introducing iterative writing exercises within the Scientific Paper Writing Technique (TPKI) course. The implications of this study are threefold. Theoretically, it contributes to ongoing discourse regarding needs-based pedagogy in academic writing. Practically, it offers a roadmap for instructors, administrators, and policymakers to design targeted interventions that enhance student writing proficiency. Policy-wise, the findings stress the significance of establishing writing centers and standardized guidebooks to ensure consistent quality and compliance with academic standards. While the sample was confined to mid- and final-year PBSI students, future research could expand the scope by examining longitudinal progress in writing competencies or comparing outcomes across different disciplines and institutions. Overall, this study emphasizes the centrality of well-structured, context-specific support systems in cultivating effective scientific writing skills and advancing the scholarly contributions of undergraduate students.
