Abstract

The learning process would be effectively when supported by various planning, including the use and utilization of instructional media. Instructional media were employed to facilitate the process of understanding information and convey learning messages. Identifying the appropriate instructional media can influence the achievement of the teaching and learning process. SMP Alquraniyah Nurul Huda Martapura was a school unit that is relatively newly established, and thus, the teaching and learning process still requires methods that can support students' progress. The main issues identified in this community service activity were: 1) a lack of utilization of digital technology in delivering learning materials in the classroom, 2) the teaching process mostly relies on conventional methods, and 3) the English language background of the partners was weak. In addressing these challenges, the wrtiter utilized digital comic media, which considered more engaging for students due to its colorful and attractive visuals. The results achieved in this community service activity include a significant improvement in the reading skills of SMP Alquraniyah Nurul Huda students, as evidenced by their reading practice results after several days of learning to read Narrative Text using Digital Comic Media.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh data yang didapat dimana siswa kelas 6 SDN 1 Sukaraja Dalam, mengalami kesulitan dalam membaca kosa kata Bahasa Inggris, oleh karena itu kami melakukan penelitian ini yang bertujuan untuk meingkatkan kemampuan dalam membaca kosa kata Bahasa Inggris,pada penelitian ini mencangkup pengajaran semantik berbasis media flash card sebagai metode penelitian,dengan demikian diperoleh hasil dari penggunaan media flash card,dimana media flash card yang digunakan cukup baik dalam membantu meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pada siswa kelas 6 di SDN 1 Sukaraja Dalam,hal ini terlihat dari peningkatan nilai rata-rata pada post-test yang dilakukan pada saat sebelum dan sesudah penerapan pembelajaran semantik berbasis media flash card.

Abstract

MA Nurul Huda has utilized Teaching Aids in the learning process, but it is still in print form, despite the school facilities strongly supporting the use of digital Teaching Aids in the learning process due to the limited technological literacy of the teachers. Based on observations, it was also found that teachers only leave assignments and notes when the standby teacher is not present at school, resulting in an unconducive classroom atmosphere. Therefore, training and mentoring in the use of interactive Teaching Aids based on Liveworksheet are implemented to address these issues. With the method of introduction, training, practice, and mentoring, along with evaluation using Google Forms, it was found that 99% of the material delivery by the resource person is excellent, 85% of the service during the activity is good, 100% of the conveyed material is considered very important and beneficial by the participants, 84% find the practice of creating Liveworksheet media easy to understand, with difficulties mainly related to internet access. Furthermore, 80% of the mentoring activities via WhatsApp are intensive. This indicates that the activities are smoothly conducted and have a positive impact on the participants. It is expected that this will boost the enthusiasm of teachers in using technology for the progress of students
