Abstract

Tembokrejo Village is one of the villages in Muncar District which has the densest population. The location of Tembokrejo Village is directly adjacent to the Bali Strait which has the potential for a tsunami disaster. With such a large population, the level of risk from a tsunami disaster is very high. Since 2021 in Tembokrejo Village a Disaster Risk Reduction Forum and Volunteers have been formed in the Village. However, over time there have been changes in members. So it is necessary to increase the capacity and knowledge of new volunteers and remind the old members. The method used is qualitative descriptive. The results obtained are many volunteers who still do not have a full volunteer spirit. This can be seen from the activeness and participation of members when handling disaster events in Tembokrejo Village. For this reason, it is necessary to continue to foster a spirit of volunteerism and knowledge from members, who will later become the frontline in disaster management in Tembokrejo Village)

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a fairly high potential for natural disasters. Based on disaster risk assessment. Blitar Regency has 10 potential disasters, namely floods, flash floods, extreme weather, high waves and abrasion, earthquakes, forest and land fires, drought, volcanic eruptions, landslides and tsunamis. Assessing village resilience has become an important focus along with increasing efforts to increase village resilience following the high number of disaster events in Indonesia. The disaster resilience assessment aims to produce basic data (baseline) on aspects that influence village resilience. Data collection methods used in village resilience assessment research in Blitar Regency include FGD, observation, and documentation review. Next, the collected data is processed using the application in the BNPB preparedness catalog. The assessment results show that of the 248 villages/sub-districts in Blitar Regency, 170 villages/sub-districts are in the pratama category with a score index of <58.33, 61 villages/sub-districts are in the intermediate category with a score index of 58.33 - 83.33 and 17 villages/sub-districts are in the main category with a score index > 83.33. There are around 17 priority threats chosen by villages/sub-districts in Blitar Regency.

Abstract

Tamanan Village and Lirboyo Village, located in Mojoroto District, Kediri City are one of the villages affected by flooding, especially when the rainy season arrives. Floods that occur are often caused by problematic drainage and culvert infrastructure. The objective of community empowerment activities through the Tangguh Village Disaster program is to increase the capacity and resilience of the community and village apparatus in Tamanan and Lirboyo Villages in dealing with disasters. The methods used in this study include participatory survey methods, lectures, discussions, exercises/hands-on practice, observation, and evaluation. The results obtained are that a disaster-resilient village/kelurahan has an important role as a buffer for a village affected by a disaster, or becomes an independent village if a disaster occurs.

Abstract

Disaster education is very important, especially for schools in disaster-prone areas. Schools should teach disaster education, especially about attitudes and actions that must be taken when a disaster occurs. SD Negeri 2 Sanden is one of the elementary schools that is vulnerable to earthquake disasters. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. The results of the research show that (1) All respondents understand the potential threat of priority disasters at SD Negeri 2 Sanden, namely earthquakes (2) SD Negeri 2 Sanden does not yet have a written policy regarding preparedness for facing disasters. School policies only exist in disaster mitigation efforts such as integrating disaster material into the curriculum (3) Emergency response plans have been carried out by the school, including saving data on Google Drive and carrying out disaster simulations. (4) The school opens access to communication and disaster warning information from relevant stakeholders and agrees together on the tools used to convey danger signs. (5) The school has not yet formed a School Disaster Preparedness Team that can mobilize resources when an earthquake occurs at SD Negeri 2 Sanden.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the relevance and role of the Merdeka Curriculum, an educational initiative that provides freedom and flexibility in curriculum development, in addressing the global warming crisis. This study utilises a qualitative method with a case study conducted in three schools implementing the Merdeka Curriculum in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Data were collected through interviews with teachers and school principals, direct observations in the schools, and document analysis of textbooks containing materials related to global warming. The data were then analysed using thematic analysis techniques. The findings reveal that the Merdeka Curriculum possesses several characteristics that support students in understanding and addressing the global warming crisis, namely: (1) a focus on essential and relevant environmental issues, (2) the development of students' character and problem-solving competencies, and (3) student engagement in active and participatory learning. The results of the research explain that the Merdeka Curriculum plays a role in providing knowledge, but also skills, attitudes and values needed to become environmentally responsible citizens. The independent curriculum also encourages active and creative participation from students and educators in finding and providing solutions to reduce the negative impacts of the global warming crisis.

Abstract

The implementations of self-assessment using Inarisk SPAB's (Disaster Safe School) e-monev tools in Bantul Regency are currently not optimal. According to SPAB e-monev study and analysis by BNPB in 2023 stated that 11% of the 8,268 schools only in DI. Yogyakarta did it. The capacity and preparedness for schools in Bantul, especially those on the Opak Fault, to face the threat of earthquakes is absolutely necessary through reinforcement of SPAB. To ensure the schools in the Opak Fault area consistently implement Disaster Safe School (SPAB) standards in increasing preparedness to face earthquakes, periodic self-assessments should be carried out. However, self-assessment using Inarisk SPAB's (Disaster Safe School) e-monev tools in the Opak Fault has not been optimal, which means that schools have not attempted to provide guarantees of optimal preparedness to face the risk of earthquake disasters for its members. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach involving 32 key informan and triangulation. The results are stated that four of six schools in Opak Fault, Bantul Regency are less prepared to face earthquakes, while the others are almost ready and ready category.
