Abstract

the purpose of this research is to find out, analyze and identify the influence of the Peer Teaching model in the game of volleyball on the learning motivation of class VII students at SMP Negeri 4 Klari. To answer the formulated research problem, the author uses a quantitative approach with experimental methods. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Klari by taking two classes as research samples, namely VII G with a total of 40 students, and VII B with a total of 37 students out of 512 students with a total of 13 classes in VII class. There are three stages in this research, namely pretest, treatment, and posttest. A pretest was carried out in both classes to determine students' initial cooperation abilities before receiving treatment. After the pretest, the researcher provided treatment, namely eight meetings in the experimental class and control class with the tutor teacher, in the experimental research class using the Peer Teaching model while in the control class the tutor teacher used the conventional learning model (Direct Instruction). After being given treatment, the researcher then conducted a posttest in both classes to find out whether there was an influence of the Peer Teaching model in the experimental class. Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) was used to analyze the data. The esults of this research prove that the Peer Teaching model in volleyball games has an influence on junior high school students' learning motivation with the following explanation: 1). The application of the Peer Teaching model in volleyball games has an effect on students' learning motivation. 2). The application of the conventional learning model (Direct Instruction) in the game of volleyball has an effect on students' learning motivation. 3). The application of the Peer Teaching model shows a different influence with a more effective influence than the conventional learning model (Direct Instruction) in the game of volleyball on students' learning motivation. Therefore, through the Peer Teaching model, it is hoped that it can help improve students' cooperative attitudes in their daily lives so that they can contribute to the development of character education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of fundamental movement skills in many students, which impacts their subsequent motor development. This experimental study, using a one-group pretestposttest design, aimed to improve the fundamental movement skills of first-grade elementary students (N=30; 16 males, 14 females; average age 6 years) through the implementation of traditional games in physical education classes. Data was collected using the Test of Gross Motor Development-Second Edition (TGMD-2) and analyzed quantitatively. The results showed a significant improvement in the fundamental movement skills of the students after the intervention with traditional games. This research contributes by demonstrating the effectiveness of traditional games as a fun and effective learning medium for enhancing fundamental movement skills in elementary students, providing practical implications for the development of more innovative and culturally-based physical education curricula. However, this study has limitations in terms of its relatively small sample size and its focus on first-grade students. Future research could expand the sample size, involve higher grade levels, and explore a wider variety of traditional games to optimize the improvement of fundamental movement skills.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Physical education plays a role in promoting students’ motor competence, social interaction, and participation in school learning environments. However, many elementary school physical education classes still rely on teacher-centered instructional approaches that limit student engagement and reduce opportunities for practicing sport skills. This situation often results in limited mastery of football techniques, particularly passing ability, which is a key component of maintaining ball possession and building team play. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament cooperative learning model in improving students’ football passing ability. The participants were twenty male third-grade students from SDN Tanggulun 2, Indonesia. The study employed a quasi-experimental approach using a pretest and posttest control group design conducted over ten learning sessions. The intervention involved implementing the Teams Games Tournament cooperative learning model during football learning activities, emphasizing teamwork, structured gameplay, and tournament-based interaction. Data were collected using a standardized football passing ability test measuring accuracy, strength, and technique. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, an independent-samples t-test, and normalized gain analysis in SPSS. The results revealed that students who participated in the cooperative learning intervention showed greater improvement in passing ability than students receiving conventional instruction. The experimental group achieved a mean posttest score of 40.00, whereas the control group obtained a mean posttest score of 23.40. These findings confirm that the Teams Games Tournament cooperative learning model effectively enhances football passing skills in elementary school physical education
