Abstract

This study aims to evaluate use of finger protection PPE in process of sorting plastic glass at SiHatin Waste Bank. The waste sorting process with high risk is the process of cutting plastic cup ring. This research uses qualitative method with case study approach, interviews, and observations to identify problems and find solutions to improve comfort and safety. PPE used for three months was proven to increase safety officers by 80.95%. However, there is discomfort experienced by 18 out of 20 officers due to several factors, namely: precision movements difficulty by 90%, sweat on fingers by 60%, inappropriate size by 45% and skin irritation by 35%. The proposed solutions include using more comfortable materials and ergonomic, setting break times, and training use of PPE to increase its effectiveness. In addition, development of cutting ring tool was developed to reduce the risk of injury and increase worker productivity.

Abstract

Railway crossing guard posts are essential outdoor workplaces that play a crucial role in transportation safety, yet they are often overlooked in ergonomic studies. Gatekeepers perform their duties with limited facilities, making them vulnerable to noise, poor lighting, high temperatures, and vibrations from passing trains. This study aims to evaluate the ergonomic conditions of the guard post in Gombong by measuring four main parameters: noise, lighting, temperature, and vibration. Measurements were conducted using standardized instruments, and the results were compared to official threshold limits. The findings revealed that the average noise level was 96 dBA, exceeding the standard of 85 dBA; nighttime lighting was 43 lux, below the minimum standard of 100 lux; daytime temperature reached 32.5 degrees Celsius, above the comfort range of 25–27 degrees Celsius; and vibration was 0.4 m/s², which remained within the safe threshold. Although exposure was short, cumulative risks could reduce concentration. This study provides practical recommendations for improving work conditions and expands research on environmental ergonomics in public transportation sectors.

Abstract

Bullwhip efek adalah fenomena yang umum dijumpai dalam rantai pasokan, di mana perubahan kecil pada permintaan dari konsumen akhir bisa menyebabkan pergeseran besar dalam tingkat pemesanan di bagian hulu dari rantai tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai kemungkinan terjadinya efek Bullwhip pada UMKM Bakso Sari Rasa di Pengempon dengan menerapkan pendekatan studi kasus yang bersifat kuantitatifdeskriptif. Data yang digunakan mencakup permintaan (penjualan) serta pemesanan mingguan yang berlangsung dari Januari sampai Desember 2024. Tiga jenis produk yang dianalisis meliputi Tahu Bakso, Bakso Besar, dan Bakso Kecil. Temuan analisis menunjukkan nilai efek Bullwhip untuk Tahu Bakso adalah 0,96, untuk Bakso Besar adalah 1,00, dan untuk Bakso Kecil adalah 0,99. Ketiga nilai ini berada di bawah batas parameter yang ditetapkan sebesar 1,01, menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada amplifikasi permintaan secara signifikan yang terjadi. Oleh karena itu, sistem pemesanan dan pengelolaan permintaan pada UMKM ini tergolong dalam kondisi stabil. Hasil ini memberikan gambaran bahwa UMKM Bakso Sari Rasa dapat mempertahankan keseimbangan antara permintaan nyata dan pemesanan, sehingga risiko kelebihan stok maupun kekurangan stok dapat ditekan. Penelitian ini diharapkan berfungsi sebagai referensi bagi pelaku UMKM dalam meningkatkan efisiensi sistem rantai pasokan.
