Abstract

Caulerpa sp., a macroalgae from the Chlorophyceae class, represents a significant marine biological resource. In order to meet increasing market demands, sea grape cultivation has expanded through various methods, aiming to ensure production is not reliant on natural conditions. This study explores alternative cultivation by using container boxes and nutrient manipulation via fertilization to enhance the growth and production of Caulerpa sp. Specifically, the research examines the impact of different Bali Organiculture Guano liquid organic fertilizer dosages on Caulerpa sp. growth, identifying the optimal dosage for maximum growth. A completely randomized design with four treatments (A: control, B: 0.22 ml/l, C: 0.28 ml/l, D: 0.34 ml/l) and three replications were employed. Growth metrics were analyzed using ANOVA and post-hoc tests (BNT). Results indicated significant effects of fertilizer application on daily growth (A=1±0.00a, B=1±0.33b, C=2±0.00c, D=2±0.00d), absolute growth (A=38±0.88a, B=72±2.31b, C=85±2.65c, D=104±2.52d), Caulerpa length (A=1.2±0.03a, B=2.4±0.32b, C=3.0±0.07c, D=3.5±0.09c), and number of ramuli (A=22.4±0.21a, B=35.0±1.26b, C=43.0±4.31b, D=65.3±4.13c). The findings confirm that Bali Organiculture Guano liquid organic fertilizer significantly enhances the growth rate, absolute weight, length, and ramuli number of Caulerpa sp. in cultivation media. Abstract

This research was carried out at BBIP Tablolong, Kupang Regency for 60 days. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of feeding snails (Achatina fulica) on the growth of white snapper (Lates calcarifer). The design used was RAL with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions, namely (A) f999 pellets 5% of the biomass weight (control), (B) snails 5% of the biomass weight, (C) snails 10% of the biomass weight, (D) snails 15% of the biomass weight. The parameters measured in this study are Absolute Weight Growth, SGR, SR, FCR, Feed Efficiency. The research results prove that treatment (B) Snails 5% of biomass weight is the best dose for the growth of white snapper with an absolute weight growth rate of 8.3 g, SGR reaching 0.048%g/day, SR of white snapper 90%, FCR 1.36 g, and feed efficiency value reaching 73.44%. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the added value resulting from processing Kappaphycus sp seaweed into Alkaline Treated Cottonii (ATC) and to evaluate the economic aspects of the process. The ATC processing process is carried out through boiling seaweed with a solution of potassium hydroxide (KOH) at a temperature of 80–85°C for two hours, followed by washing, cutting, and drying. The results of the study showed that the processing of dried seaweed into ATC produced an added value of Rp 67,000 per kilogram of dried seaweed, with a total added value for 100 kg of seaweed reaching Rp 7,210,000. This added value reflects a significant increase in the selling price of processed products compared to the sale of seaweed in raw form. Financial analysis showed a gross profit of IDR 5,900,000, with a break-even point reached in the production of around 28.45 kg of ATC. This study concludes that processing seaweed into ATC not only increases the economic value of the product, but also opens up opportunities for product diversification such as pure carrageenan which is in great demand in the international market. Therefore, processing seaweed into ATC can provide great economic benefits for coastal communities and can improve the welfare of business actors through the added value produced.
