Abstract

Primary education plays an important role in shaping the foundation of students' knowledge, especially in Natural and Social Sciences (NSP) subjects in grade 4. Choosing grade 4 as the focus of learning is very strategic because at this age, children are in a critical stage of cognitive development where they begin to be able to think logically and understand more abstract concepts. LKPD is a learning tool designed to provide guidance and steps to students in the form of worksheets that contain instructions, steps, and tasks to be completed. LKPD serves as a medium that helps students organize and internalize learning material more effectively, as well as develop analytical thinking skills and problem solving through hands-on and exploratory activities. The photosynthesis material in the 4th grade Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject of the Merdeka Curriculum was chosen for research because photosynthesis is a basic concept that is very important for students' understanding of the plant life cycle and the basics of ecosystems. Photosynthesis teaches students about how plants produce food and oxygen, which are essential for the life of all living things. A solid understanding of the photosynthesis process can help students appreciate the importance of protecting the environment and increase their awareness of environmental issues. In addition, it lays the foundation for more complex science lessons later in their education. Conventional learning methods are often unable to optimally motivate students, resulting in low learning outcomes. To overcome this problem, the development of Discovery Learning-based Learner Worksheets (LKPD) is an alternative solution. This study aims to determine the initial picture of student learning outcomes using LKPD. The method used is descriptive research. Data collection was carried out using a test instrument. The results of the study were an average of 55. This result shows that the average value of students does not yet have a basic understanding of the concept of photosynthesis. The follow-up of the results of this study is the need to develop Discovery Learning-based LKPD.

Abstract

This study analyzes the strategies and methods of teaching Civic Education (PKn) in elementary schools, focusing on their characteristics, effectiveness, and relevance to improving student learning outcomes. Through a literature review, this research identifies various strategies such as expository, discovery, inquiry, problem-based, and contextual approaches, alongside methods including lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and demonstrations. Each approach is examined based on its contribution to interactive, participatory, and value-based learning. Furthermore, this study highlights the underlying learning theories constructivism, behaviorism, social learning, humanism, and cognitivism that inform the application of these strategies and methods. Findings indicate that consensus-based learning in Grade VI can enhance critical thinking skills and student participation through contextual strategies, discussions, and simulations. By linking learning materials to real-life experiences, this study emphasizes the importance of aligning strategies and methods to support the holistic development of students' civic character. The research offers recommendations for developing innovative and relevant PKn teaching approaches tailored to the demands of 21st-century education.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and implement Creative Problem Solving (CPS)-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) to improve students' creative thinking skills on fractions in fifth grade at SDN 1 Langkapura. In the context of the Independent Curriculum, teachers have the freedom to design innovative and contextual learning. However, the use of LKPD or interactive media has not been widely implemented in several schools in Bandar Lampung. This study is based on the view that concrete and interactive learning media can improve student creativity more effectively than conventional methods. Data from the Ministry of Education and Culture's School Education Report Card shows a decline in literacy and numeracy skills of students at SDN 1 Langkapura in the last three years. The implementation of CPS is expected to address this problem by providing more meaningful and problem-solving-based learning. Analysis of previous research results shows that the CPS learning model can improve students' learning outcomes and creative thinking skills. This study uses an experimental approach by comparing learning outcomes between the experimental class using CPS-based LKPD and the control class using conventional learning methods. The research method used is the ADDIE model development research. The research results are expected to contribute to improving the quality of learning in elementary schools and inspire the application of the CPS method in various educational contexts.
