Abstract

Students often have difficulty in solving problems, this is due to lack of confidence and students' critical thinking skills are still low. Critical thinking skills are needed to make decisions in solving problems on problems. In order for students to make decisions, students must have confidence in practicing critical thinking skills. This study aims to describe students' critical thinking skills in solving story problems in junior high school students who have confidence. This research method is descriptive research with a qualitative approach, in the form of the results of the work of non-test students, written tests and in-depth interviews. This study included 2 subjects who had the ability to think critically with confidence. The results of this study show that students can meet all criteria such as (1) students are able to understand problems, write down problem information from known, namely Tini bought 2 pens and bought 1 writing book, while Aisyah bought more pens than Tini equivalent to the price of books, then what was asked was the price of 2 pens and 3 writing books, respectively, (2) students are able to analyze and create mathematical models, able to consider assumptions and determine the results of completion, namely solving mathematical models on the material of a system of two-variable linear equations (SPLDV). And (3) students are able to draw conclusions from the problem, namely being able to conclude from the results of the final solution correctly. So that students are able to understand, model and solve problems appropriately.

Abstract

This research analyzes the pricing mechanisms in traditional Indonesian markets from the perspective of Islamic economics, emphasizing the principles of justice (ʿadl), public interest (maṣlaḥah), and the prohibition of exploitative practices such as iḥtikār (hoarding) and ghabn fāḥiḥ (excessive markup). The systematic literature study methods was used to synthesize findings from 20 journal articles and policy documents. The results show that 68% of traders apply the cost-plus pricing method with a fair margin of 10–20%, which aligns with the concept of ribh al-maʿrūf. However, 22% of cases indicate hoarding practices and excessive markups, especially on seasonal commodities. Transparent bargaining practices also contribute to the formation of fair prices. This research proposes a selective tasʿīr model as a regulatory intervention and recommends tasʿīr-based training as well as increased supply chain transparency. These findings contribute both theoretically and practically to the development of a contextual and fair Sharia pricing system in Indonesia's traditional markets.

Abstract

This study examines the interpretation of the Melanesian Way in leadership and its role in conflict resolution within Melanesian communities. It aims to analyse how traditional leadership values, particularly the “Big Man” leadership model, contribute to social cohesion and dispute settlement. A literature review and narrative analysis were used to interpret the socio-political significance of Melanesian leadership structures. It argues that although the Melanesian Way refers to a complex system reflecting values and norms developed over thousands of years, it remains relevant today. The findings indicate that Melanesian leadership is deeply influenced by Christian values, shaping conflict resolution strategies that emphasize consensus, charisma, and social harmony. This research contributes to the broader understanding of indigenous governance by demonstrating how traditional leadership systems remain relevant in contemporary conflict management. By highlighting the effectiveness of culturally embedded governance mechanisms, this study offers insights into alternative models of conflict resolution beyond state-centric approaches.
