Abstract

Students often have difficulty in solving problems, this is due to lack of confidence and students' critical thinking skills are still low. Critical thinking skills are needed to make decisions in solving problems on problems. In order for students to make decisions, students must have confidence in practicing critical thinking skills. This study aims to describe students' critical thinking skills in solving story problems in junior high school students who have confidence. This research method is descriptive research with a qualitative approach, in the form of the results of the work of non-test students, written tests and in-depth interviews. This study included 2 subjects who had the ability to think critically with confidence. The results of this study show that students can meet all criteria such as (1) students are able to understand problems, write down problem information from known, namely Tini bought 2 pens and bought 1 writing book, while Aisyah bought more pens than Tini equivalent to the price of books, then what was asked was the price of 2 pens and 3 writing books, respectively, (2) students are able to analyze and create mathematical models, able to consider assumptions and determine the results of completion, namely solving mathematical models on the material of a system of two-variable linear equations (SPLDV). And (3) students are able to draw conclusions from the problem, namely being able to conclude from the results of the final solution correctly. So that students are able to understand, model and solve problems appropriately.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the basic problems of students, namely difficulties in understanding the material on Systems of Linear Equations with Three Variables, how to use methods to solve them, and not maximizing the use of technology as a learning medium. The aim of this research is to develop learning media in the form of a MedLearn Math on three-variable linear equation systems. This development research uses the ADDIE model. The results of the research show that the level of feasibility of media and material experts received a very feasible category with scores of 97% and 90% respectively. The results of students' responses to the media obtained an average percentage of 83.3% in the very good category, while the test results of 3 randomly selected students obtained an average percentage of 89.2% in the very good category. So, the MedLearn Math developed as a learning medium on three-variable linear equation systems is "very feasible" and "very good" and easy to use anytime and anywhere.

Abstract

Abstrak. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan satu diantara bagian yang penting di dalam kurikulum mata pelajaran matematika, karena di dalam proses pembelajaran maupun penyelesaian peserta didik memungkinkan dapat memperoleh pengetahuan serta menggunakan pengetahuan yang sudah dimiliki peserta didik untuk digunakan dalam memecahkan masalah. Tujuan pada penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita perbandingan ditinjau dari minat belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIIC SMP Negeri 2 Sampit sebanyak 36 peserta didik, Selanjutnya subjek dipilih dari hasil angket minat belajar ada sebanyak 3 subjek yang terdiri dari 1 subjek dengan minat belajar tinggi, 1 subjek dengan minat belajar sedang, dan 1 dengan minat belajar rendah. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah angket minat belajar, tes soal cerita perbandingan, dan wawancara. Minat belajar tinggi, sedang, dan rendah sangat mempengaruhi kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika terutama soal cerita perbandingan. Hasilnya pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan minat belajar tinggi (subjek MBT) mampu memenuhi semua indikator yaitu indikator memahami masalah, menyusun rencana, melaksanakan rencana, dan memeriksa kembali. Sedangkan pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan minat belajar sedang (subjek MBS) hanya memenuhi beberapa indikator yaitu indikator melaksanakan rencana dan indikator memeriksa kembali, tetapi tidak memenuhi indikator memahami masalah dan indikator menyusun rencana. Sedangkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah dengan minat belajar rendah (subjek MBR) belum mampu memenuhi semua indikator yaitu indikator memahami masalah, menyusun rencana, melaksanakan rencana, dan memeriksa kembali.
