Abstract

This study aims to determine the reasons for using the Tantan application in active users of the Tantan application who have worked, to determine the self-disclosure of Tantan application users, and to determine the obstacles of Tantan users in finding a partner. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The number of informants in this study were 6 people. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique used was the Miles and Huberman model analysis technique which was carried out in 3 stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. This research reveals that the reason Tantan users are just for fun and just want to make friends from online dating apps. Self-disclosure through Tantan is done to feel closer and more comfortable in the stage of meeting new people. The self-disclosure made by Tantan users who were informants in this study were in the form of age, occupation, hobbies, experiences, family circumstances, and love. The obstacles that Tantan users can find in finding a partner are busy work, easily boredom, closed nature and difficulty opening up.

Abstract

Body Shaming is physical violence that has an impact on psychology or mentality that can affect a person's life, both for individuals and groups. The large number of perpetrators who lead to body shaming causes negative impacts on victims, including depression, sadness and shame, and even withdrawal from social interactions. This study aims to determine the phenomenon of body shaming among students at Dehasen Bengkulu University. The type of research used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Based on the research results, researchers analyzed the phenomenon of body shaming among female students at Dehasen University Bengkulu through a critical approach to the theory of objectification of women. In this study the research informants were students at Dehasen University, Bengkulu City, who had shapes in the Body Shaming category, such as fat, tall thin, short fat (bontet), black skin, spotty faces. Through analysis of the data that has been obtained, researchers found that the act of body shaming experienced by the informant was the result of intersection between students, both classmates and close friends. The researcher saw that some informants experienced body shaming and had different impacts, namely creating the habit of monitoring their bodies regularly on themselves, feeling embarrassed, feeling insecure, becoming stressed thinking about this talk and distancing themselves from friends.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the phenomenon of using the instagram stories feature as a medium to express student self-existence. In the digital and media era, Instagram stories are one of the platforms used by Dehasen University's 2020 Communication Science students for various aspects of their lives. The results showed that students actively use the instagram stories feature to describe their identity and self-existence. Their stories postings include a variety of content, such as pictures, videos, short stories, quotes, and daily activities. Through content analysis, this study identifies patterns in the way students construct their self-existence on this social media. This research also discusses the impact of using Instagram Stories on students' social interactions and self-perception. This research uses Qualitative research methods. The subjects of this study consisted of 4 informants from the Dehasen University Class of 2020 Communication Science Study Program. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that this platform plays an important role in building social relationships, increasing self-confidence, and providing opportunities to express their interests, values, and aspirations.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the therapeutic communication process in counseling guidance at SMAN 01 Bengkulu City. The theory used is Northouse's theory of therapeutic communication (in Suryani, 2005). This research is qualitative research in exploring data from the field, namely through in-depth interviews, direct observation and documentation. The research results stated that at the preparation stage (pre-interaction), initially before conducting counseling the teacher knew the problems the students were experiencing. Introductory stage (orientation), talk first about the problem, if it is not efficient, take it straight to the guidance room. Work stage, thinking about further understanding students' willingness to solve the problems they face. Next is the initiation stage, in counseling guidance there has been a change in the student.

Abstract

There are many ways to deliver messages communicate, in directly or via media, either verbal or non verbal way. In order to make a messages received by other people obviously a communicator uses a communication technic, there are six communication technics that are known in Communication Studies such as Informative Technic, Persuasive Technic, Coersive Technic, Instructive Technic, Pervatie Technic, and Humanizm-Relationship Technic. And in this research, the author wanted to find out a kind of communication technic that was used by Aquamarine Band in delivering messages when performing on the stage, However, the technic wich was taken by author focused on three Communication technic only, they are an Informative Technic, Persuasive Technic, and Humanizm-Relationship Technic. In qualitative descriptive method, the author succeeded to observe that Aquamarine Band Absolutly uses those three Communication Technics as suitable as author’s research indeed, those are an Informative, Persuasive, and a Humanizm-Relationship Technic. This was proved from the result of the author’s interview with informers who consust of main informer, A Vocalist of Band and the head informer, that was Aquamarine Band fans club themsolves. They stated that every time when Aquamarine Band perform, they always interact to the crowd such as greeting, waving hands, encouraging all people to sing moreover, after performing there are always some people want to take a picture together
