Abstract

This study aims to determine the reasons for using the Tantan application in active users of the Tantan application who have worked, to determine the self-disclosure of Tantan application users, and to determine the obstacles of Tantan users in finding a partner. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The number of informants in this study were 6 people. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique used was the Miles and Huberman model analysis technique which was carried out in 3 stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. This research reveals that the reason Tantan users are just for fun and just want to make friends from online dating apps. Self-disclosure through Tantan is done to feel closer and more comfortable in the stage of meeting new people. The self-disclosure made by Tantan users who were informants in this study were in the form of age, occupation, hobbies, experiences, family circumstances, and love. The obstacles that Tantan users can find in finding a partner are busy work, easily boredom, closed nature and difficulty opening up.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the process of forming self-identity in the Hip-Hop music community of Plakntone.Ind in Bengkulu City. The theory used in this study is the theory of symbolic interactionism according to George Herbert Mead (in Morissan, 2013: 225). This research uses qualitative research methods in collecting data from the field, namely through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation. The results of the study stated that on the community aspect, the Planktone.Ind community founded this Hip-Hop music community to expand relations and be able to interact with the community through songs. In terms of self, the existence of the Planktone.Ind community can be accepted by society because Hip-Hop music is basically a mecca for today's music accompanied by DJ music. In the aspect of the mind, seen at the time of making the Planktone.Ind community symbol where there was debate and mutual opinion among community members. The conclusion drawn from this study is that symbolic interactionism occurs in the process of forming the self-identity of the Planktone.Ind community as a Hip-Hop music community.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic requires online learning at SDN 06 Bengkulu Tengah. Therefore, this study discusses the analysis of the function of online learning media in the era of the covid-19 pandemic on class 06 students at SDN 06 Bengkulu Tengah. The informants in this study were 4 teachers. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques and used the theory of Sanjaya (2012) about 4 functions of online learning media including the communicative function, the motivation function, the perception equalization function and the individuality function. The results of research show that; the communicative function, the teacher provides material in various ways so that students' understanding of speaking in public places and working together with others is getting better. the motivational function, the teacher does it by providing material and entertainment in the form of videos, so that students do not get bored and get their own motivation in watching and listening to the material. The meaningful function of using the teacher's media not only increases the addition of information, but can increase students' ability to analyze and create, the function of equalizing this perception is not only done by the teacher but also to the guardians of students through meetings in providing information about online learning, the function of individuality in the interests of each style. Different students, each teacher is required to be able to unify the understanding of the same information and material even though the interests of different learning styles are different.

Abstract

This study aims to find out One Piece Anime so that it becomes popular culture among millennials in Bengkulu city. This study used communication theory, anime theory, cultural theory, popular culture theory, and millennial theory. This study also used qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques in this study using the method of observation, interviews, documentation. In general, the results of the study conclude that how One Piece Anime becomes Popular Culture among Millennials in Bengkulu City which has been going very well. Based on the reciprocity of communication flows and cultural trends that arise in society created by One Piece anime fans which can exchange information and spread the culture. Thus, it makes people can accept the existence of this culture. Many people also follow cultural trends, for example imitating styles like characters in anime. For example, Monkey D Luffy who has a spirited character that doesn't complain, always fights to the maximum, makes friends with any race. This character can be applied in everyday life and affects the social community. Likewise with fashion, such as clothes, hairstyles and accessories, for example the shirt that Luffy wore in the Deseirosa Arc.

Abstract

There are many ways to deliver messages communicate, in directly or via media, either verbal or non verbal way. In order to make a messages received by other people obviously a communicator uses a communication technic, there are six communication technics that are known in Communication Studies such as Informative Technic, Persuasive Technic, Coersive Technic, Instructive Technic, Pervatie Technic, and Humanizm-Relationship Technic. And in this research, the author wanted to find out a kind of communication technic that was used by Aquamarine Band in delivering messages when performing on the stage, However, the technic wich was taken by author focused on three Communication technic only, they are an Informative Technic, Persuasive Technic, and Humanizm-Relationship Technic. In qualitative descriptive method, the author succeeded to observe that Aquamarine Band Absolutly uses those three Communication Technics as suitable as author’s research indeed, those are an Informative, Persuasive, and a Humanizm-Relationship Technic. This was proved from the result of the author’s interview with informers who consust of main informer, A Vocalist of Band and the head informer, that was Aquamarine Band fans club themsolves. They stated that every time when Aquamarine Band perform, they always interact to the crowd such as greeting, waving hands, encouraging all people to sing moreover, after performing there are always some people want to take a picture together

Abstract

In this modern era, there are many applications that can be used as a forum for online dating communication. Having applications like Instagram really helps people communicate long distances without having to be in the same location. From Instagram you can see the online dating process that occurs. Through the Instagram application, someone can do online dating which is relatively more effective in communicating online. In interacting using CMC, namely existence, time, form of communication and also use which allows someone to communicate without knowing time limits, the same existence and the communication that is formed is relatively more comfortable. This requires informants who have Instagram accounts that meet the criteria, such as the accounts @Luthfiyah, @fajar and @Riaayu. And the results showed that Instagram is very suitable as an online dating communication medium because the features available are relatively more complete and also safer in carrying out personal communication. On Instagram, someone can also post photos and videos that can be watched by other friends. According to the three informants, the online dating that occurred using Instagram ended in their relationship, or it could be said that they were officially dating.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the dangers of stunting and its prevention to prospective brides (catin). One of the things done is communication between the Family Assistance Team (TPK) and prospective brides (catin) through three (3) months of premarital assistance in Air Napal District. This research method is descriptive qualitative. The theory used is Cutlip and Allen's effective communication process theory, namely credibility, context, content, clarity, sustainability, media and understanding. The results showed that the effective communication process consists of credibility, context, content, clarity, sustainability, media and understanding as follows: The Family Assistance Team (TPK) succeeded in building strong credibility so that prospective brides (catin) were interested in exploring information related to stunting prevention. Furthermore, context, the family assistance team (TPK) provides real and directed communication, information and education related to stunting prevention. Content, through the ELSIMIL application, catin can access educational content related to stunting prevention and pregnancy readiness. Clarity (clear message), the process of communication and delivery of education related to stunting and its prevention is clear and easily understood by catin. Continuity of communication that takes place even when the catin is married, pregnant and becomes a post-saline mother. The media are social media whatsaap and facebook which are very effectively used by the Family Assistance Team (TPK) and prospective brides (catin). Furthermore, understanding, namely both parties can be said to have carried out effective communication with the same understanding or the message conveyed can be received and applied properly. The occurrence of effective communication is also because the Family Facilitating Team and the bride-to-be (catin) already know each other well so as to increase the trust of the bride-to-be (catin) in the Family Facilitating Team (TPK).

Abstract

 Marketing on social media platforms has become a key element in the marketing strategy for make up artists. In this context, the Instagram account @mymua1 is the center of attention as the main platform for interacting with consumers. This research was conducted with the aim of finding out how the marketing communication strategy for make up artists on the Instagram account @mymua1 maintains consumer trust.  The research method used was descriptive qualitative. This research uses data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The technique for collecting research information uses purposive sampling. The research results show that the marketing communication strategy implemented by @mymua1 has three theories, namely, segmentation, targeting and positioning. First, they maintain a positive impression by being friendly, not arrogant, and always listening to consumers' opinions or wishes. Second, @mymua1 maintains the quality of their services by continuing to learn and upgrade their skills. Third, @mymua1 maintains consumer trust by maintaining good communication, providing good suggestions for make up, and accepting suggestions from consumers. The conclusion of this research is that the marketing communication strategy for make up artists on the Instagram account @mymua1 in maintaining consumer trust has been running well and effectively, it can be seen that there are three marketing communication strategies being implemented by @mymua1.

Abstract

Perum BULOG Bengkulu Regional Office is one of the large state-owned companies, the importance of this company to develop both the government and all levels working in it. The purpose of this study is to explain how to communicate employees in shaping the work culture of Perum Bulog Bengkulu employees. This research focuses on the communication patterns that exist in it so as to shape the current work culture of employees at the Bengkulu Regional Office of Perum Bulog using transactional theory, on 3 indicators of micro, macro and individual approaches. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach and purposive sampling technique by conducting direct interviews with 6 informants with criteria such as gender, age, position to employee tenure. The results of this study explain that communication at Perum Bulog Bengkulu Regional Office is described as a dynamic process with a free-flowing flow where Perum Bulog Bengkulu Regional Office upholds openness and smooth communication between employees. This is what makes transparency in communication between employees so that all parties can freely access the information needed to carry out their respective duties. The company shows a commitment to building an inclusive culture for all employees. This inclusive culture can be seen from the existence of equal opportunities, support for self-development, objective performance appraisal. There are various benefits for the company with this inclusive culture, such as employee motivation and enthusiasm, improving employee skills, employee knowledge and creating a positive and pleasant work environment.

Abstract

Currently online games are very popular with almost all groups. Online games are interesting to play, in fact for some people online games have become a primary need. In the past, online games could only be enjoyed via a personal computer (PC), but as time goes by, now online games can be enjoyed anywhere and anytime via smartphone. This research aims to understand teenagers' communication behavior towards the online game "Mobile Legends" in Lubuk Durian Village, Kerkap District, North Bengkulu Regency. In today's digital era, online games have become one of the main forms of entertainment for teenagers, influencing the way they interact and communicate. This research was conducted to explore adolescent communication behavior. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. Primary data was obtained through in-depth interviews and direct observation of teenagers who actively play "Mobile Legends" in the age range of 13 to 20 years. The focus of this research is the analysis of interpersonal communication behavior that occurs in the context of games and how this affects teenagers' social lives, such as the way teenagers communicate with parents and the way teenagers communicate with friends outside the game. The research results show that the use of "Mobile Legends" has various impacts on adolescent communication behavior. On the one hand, this game improves cognitive skills, motor skills and the ability to work together in teams. Teenagers can also expand their social networks and interact with friends from different countries. However, on the other hand, excessive use can cause addiction, disrupt study time, and have negative impacts on mental and physical health, such as anxiety and sleep disorders. This research provides practical insights for parents, educators and game developers in supporting the healthy and productive social and emotional development of teenagers.
