Abstract

The Indonesian telecommunications industry is developing quickly and competitively, especially in the digital era. Technological developments and market preferences change industry boundaries, so market analysis methods are considered less important and do not provide a solid basis for long-term strategy formulation. Building on knowledge management and innovation capability theory, this study aims to reveal the mechanisms of collaborative innovation processes by investigating the complex relationships between important factors that affect firms' innovation performance in supply chain networks. Using the Structural Equation Model (SEM) method, the survey of 100 Unit Leaders Respondents in Indonesian Telecommunications companies showed a significant positive relationship between collaborative innovation activities, knowledge sharing, innovation strategy, and company innovation performance. In addition, it is expected that knowledge sharing plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between collaborative innovation activities and firm innovation performance. The innovation strategy moderately affects collaborative innovation activities about innovation performance. These results contribute to collaborative innovation process management by offering a nuanced conceptualization of collaborative innovation - the relationship between innovation performance between units within Indonesia's largest telecommunications company.

Abstract

Several researchers assert that the matrix structure has the capacity to exert a substantial impact on implementation strategies; however, its complexity presents numerous obstacles that may result in significant decision-making delays and even financial losses for the organization. This research was aims to analyze the application of a matrix structure in a company that changes its organizational structure to a matrix in order to achieve its strategic goals. The research method used was a qualitative descriptive analysis method with a case study approach at a health institution, a company that has implemented a matrix organizational structure for three years. The CIPP concept framework (context input, process, product) was used as a tool for collecting primary data through in-depth interviews with the board of directors and management that supports several directorates, as well as secondary data through document review. The data analysis process was carried out using the content analysis method. This study has identified important steps that organizations must take when implementing change management initiatives through the implementation of a matrix organizational structure to effectively achieve their strategic goals. However, strong leadership must be present throughout the change process to ensure the achievement of organizational goals. The findings from this research are expected to be useful for institutions that change their organizational structure to a matrix to build synergy and manage challenges to achieve their strategic goals.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of perceived participative management, organizational commitment, and perceived organizational support on Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB), with employee engagement as a mediating variable. The research was conducted within a Financial Education and Training Organization in Indonesia, involving respondents comprising staff and supervisors or equivalent positions. Identified issues include a decline in the assessment index from the 2023 Service User Satisfaction Survey and a need to enhance employee behavior, particularly empathy. The research methodology employed data collection through questionnaires, which were analyzed using Lisrel 8.8 to evaluate the relationships and impacts of the studied variables. The findings reveal that participative management does not exert a direct influence on OCB; rather, its positive effect is contingent upon mediation by employee engagement. Although organizational commitment does not show a significant direct effect on OCB, it can exert an indirect influence when mediated by employee engagement. In contrast, perceived organizational support demonstrates a positive and significant effect on OCB, underscoring its critical role in fostering OCB among employees within the Financial Education and Training Organization. Employee engagement emerges as a highly influential variable, exerting a strong and significant direct impact on OCB while also mediating the indirect effects of participative management, organizational commitment, and perceived organizational support. These findings collectively emphasize the critical role of fostering employee attachment to the organization to enhance OCB.

Abstract

Job security is a crucial aspect of employment, especially for outsourced security guards (Satpam) in Jabodetabek, who face numerous challenges due to their contractual status. This study aims to explore the perceptions, importance, challenges, and root causes of job security issues in this sector. Using a qualitative approach, semi-structured interviews were conducted with outsourced Satpam, employees of security service companies (BUJP; Badan Usaha Jasa Pengamanan), and users’ employees. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The results reveal six key elements of job security: benefits, salary, relationships with supervisors, work environment, career development, and job stability. Challenges include unfulfilled benefits, salary discrepancies, hazardous work environments, and job instability. Root causes are linked to poor BUJP management, weak contractual agreements, and limited regulatory enforcement. The study concludes with recommendations for regulatory reform, improved collaboration among stakeholders, and targeted training programs to enhance job security and professional growth.

Abstract

The high level of job dissatisfaction and differences in intention to stay among employees in various directorates of the Ministry of Trade indicate the need for an in-depth analysis of the factors that influence job satisfaction and employee retention, especially in the context of the complex public sector. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence job satisfaction and intention to stay among State Civil Apparatus (ASN) in the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach and survey method, this study integrates Herzberg's Two Factor Theory (Motivator Factors and Hygiene Factors) to explain the dynamics of employee retention. The variables studied include motivator factors, compensation systems, work-life balance, company culture, supervisors/management, job satisfaction, and intention to stay. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 226 ASN respondents in various work units of the Ministry of Trade. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the relationship between variables. Of the total 16 hypotheses analyzed, 9 of them were supported in this study. This study found that motivator factors, work-life balance, corporate culture, and supervisor/management significantly increase job satisfaction, which in turn, together with work-life balance, directly increases the intention to stay. Furthermore, job satisfaction is proven to mediate the influence of motivator factors, work-life balance, and supervisor/management on the intention to stay. These findings provide practical implications for human resource management in the Ministry of Trade, especially in designing strategies to improve employee retention through increasing job satisfaction.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of workplace environment and work motivation on job performance among Generation Z employees within Indonesia’s food and beverage (F&B) sector, with a particular focus on the mediating role of employee commitment. Employing a quantitative research approach, data were collected through structured online surveys and analyzed using structural equation modeling. The findings reveal that both workplace environment and work motivation significantly enhance employee commitment and directly improve job performance. Furthermore, employee commitment was found to partially mediate the relationships between workplace environment, motivation, and job performance, indicating its crucial role in sustaining organizational outcomes despite Generation Z’s typically lower organizational loyalty. The research highlights the importance of fostering flexible, supportive, and inclusive work environments tailored to the unique preferences of Generation Z employees. Additionally, intrinsic motivators such as personal growth opportunities and recognition were identified as key drivers of commitment and performance. This study contributes to the literature by integrating Herzberg’s Two-Factor Theory, the Job Demands-Resources Model, and Social Exchange Theory to provide a comprehensive framework for managing Generation Z in high-turnover service industries. Practical recommendations are offered for human resource strategies, while suggestions for future research call for exploration across broader industrial and cultural settings.
