Abstract

The management of computer laboratory usage schedules at Universitas Bakrie is currently done manually, leading to difficulties in coordination and resource allocation. This issue results in inefficiencies in laboratory use and suboptimal scheduling. To address these problems, this study developed a web-based Computer Laboratory Management Information System using the CodeIgniter framework and MySQL database. The application is designed to facilitate the management of scheduling data, laboratory inventory, and the dissemination of current information to users. The system development was carried out using the waterfall method, which includes the stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. The implementation results show increased efficiency and effectiveness in managing computer laboratories, with easier access to information, more orderly scheduling management, and transparency in the use of laboratory inventory. The system is built using the PHP programming language, the CodeIgniter framework, and the MySQL database to ensure optimal performance and an organized structure. The application of this method effectively addresses the manual management issues, streamlining operations, and enhancing overall productivity in laboratory management.

Abstract

If supported by digital marketing, tourism villages can be a major economic driver in rural communities. Because through digital marketing, the tourism industry is able to expand its market and attract more tourists. This study intends to map the need for information technology for digital marketing as a strategy to enhance the marketing of tourism villages. This study employs a qualitative case study methodology. Tourism villages of Kemiren in Banyuwangi Regency, Lombok Kulon in Bondowoso Regency, and Kampung Blekok in Situbondo Regency served as research sites. Observation, interviews, and documentation techniques were utilized to collect research data. The data analysis employed qualitative descriptive analysis. According to the findings of the survey, the marketing of tourist villages in the Horseshoe region has been conducted using information technology. However, the use of digital marketing through websites and social media is still limited. Therefore, digital marketing must be supported in accordance with the requirements of the tourist village and the segmentation of the target market. This research's information technology requirements mapping methodology for digital marketing can be utilized to support the marketing of tourist villages in East Java’s Horseshoe region.

Abstract

This research compares the performance of two sentiment analysis algorithms, namely VADER (Valence Aware Dictionary and Entiment Reasoner) and RoBERTa (Robustly Optimized BERT Pretraining Approach), using a dataset of public opinions regarding climate change on twitter. Analysis is carried out to determine the sentiment distribution of the tweets described, whether they are positive, negative or neutral. In addition, this research identifies the keywords that appear most frequently from the collection of tweets that have been analyzed. Time series analysis was also carried out to see the distribution of sentiment over 12 months. The relationship between the two models was evaluated using matrix scatter plot analysis for tweets per two months, to assess the correlation and consistency of sentiment results between VADER and RoBERTa. The results show that VADER is more effective in situations that require rapid responses to changes in public sentiment, while RoBERTa is superior in in-depth analysis of more complex and ambiguous content.

Abstract

Human resources is a service department that assists employees and leaders of an organization, as well as a division that handles individual or personal issues that, when applied to an organization, concern employees or staff. Balai Pengkajian dan Pengembangan Komunikasi dan Informatika (BPPKI) Surabaya has personnel data that needs to be stored and processed in order to facilitate computerized storage and reporting. The implementation of a web service information system is a collection of functions or methods contained on a server that can be called by clients remotely. Clients can be users who use the desktop application implemented in this study, or the web as a mobile communication device. The implementation of the Three Tier application model architecture is in terms of infrastructure and documents used as data exchange formats. The Human Resources Management Information System application was developed using the Three-Tier desktop-based method with the prototype method. The Human Resources Management Information System application consists of four key components: the transaction process information system for periodic salary increases, salary, rank promotions, and leave requests; simplifying report generation; and minimizing data input errors. The implementation and results of black box testing show that all form features tested on the human resources management system functioned successfully and as expected, making this application suitable for implementation to assist human resources management at Balai Pengkajian dan Pengembangan Komunikasi dan Informatika (BPPKI) Surabaya.

Abstract

Abstract

Gender equality remains an issue in Indonesia due to the deeply rooted patriarchal culture in society. Online media, as a form of digital communication, has the potential to be a platform for voicing various issues related to gender equality. However, online media often continues to portray women as objects of gender-biased discourse. This study aims to analyze strategies that online media can adopt to build gender-equal communication. The research employs a qualitative method through a literature review. Data analysis is conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach with an interactive model. The findings indicate that, although efforts have been made to establish more inclusive gender-equal communication, gender bias is still found in some content and narratives presented by online media. Strategies that online media can adopt in building gender-equal communication include presenting content and narratives that do not marginalize women as mere objects, strengthening digital literacy through content and discussion spaces in online media, and granting women the freedom to voice gender equality through digital platforms. Keywords: Communication, Gender Equality, Online Media.
