Abstract

As a paradigm in science, both the Positivism paradigm and the Post-positivism paradigm have had a significant impact on the progress of knowledge and human civilization. This is also included in human development. In this process, philosophy and research methodology play an important role not only in forming science, but also in assessing the existence of science itself. The research method used in compiling this article is qualitative research through literature study. This research was carried out in several stages, namely (1) collecting data from library sources (2) processing data by citing references appropriate to the research topic (3) presenting research results (4) carrying out abstraction so that it becomes complete information (5) interpreting findings and (6) The last is drawing conclusions. The results of the study found five main characteristics of scientific knowledge, namely empirical, systematic, objective, analytical and verification. Positivism emphasizes empirical knowledge. Meanwhile, post-positivism highlights meaning, subjectivity and recognizes that knowledge is often not value-free. Guidance and counseling is a scientific practice that contains values that are reflected in the understanding of Guidance and Counseling. Guidance and counseling are closely related to values in education. Guidance and counseling are scientific practices that contain values that are reflected in the understanding of guidance and counseling. Guidance and counseling are closely related to education and bring values to education. Therefore, guidance and counseling cannot be considered value-free.

Abstract

Pendidikan memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk generasi yang cerdas dan berkepribadian unggul. Dalam situasi ini, layanan bimbingan dan konseling di sekolah merupakan elemen kunci yang mendukung pencapaian tujuan pendidikan. Penelitian ini mengevaluasi layanan bimbingan belajar di SMP Brawijaya Smart School Malang, dengan menggunakan pendekatan mixed-methods yang mencakup metode kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah tiga guru BK dengan instrumen utama berupa angket evaluasi bimbingan belajar dan teknik Forum Group Discussion (FGD). Proses penelitian mencakup tahapan persiapan, pengumpulan data, analisis data, serta diskusi kelompok terfokus (FGD). Analisis kuantitatif menggunakan statistik deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor evaluasi layanan bimbingan belajar adalah 369,67, yang masuk kategori baik. Konselor yang telah bekerja selama lebih dari 10 tahun memiliki skor evaluasi yang lebih tinggi, menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman kerja berkontribusi positif terhadap efektivitas layanan. Hasil FGD menyoroti bahwa layanan bimbingan belajar berjalan baik namun masih memerlukan peningkatan dalam beberapa aspek, seperti penyesuaian metode dan materi layanan sesuai kebutuhan siswa. Kesimpulannya, layanan bimbingan belajar di SMP Brawijaya Smart School cukup berhasil, meskipun ada bagian untuk perbaikan terutama bagi konselor dengan pengalaman kerja lebih singkat. Pentingnya strategi pengembangan profesional bagi semua konselor diidentifikasi sebagai langkah kunci untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan bimbingan belajar yang lebih efektif dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa.

Abstract

Humor or jokes have become an integral part of social life. The Gen-Z group's response to humor is strange, especially for those above 25 years old. It is often characterized by an absurd and dark sense of humor. This will certainly cause contradictions from many parties, especially for people with disabilities who feel themselves to be the butt of jokes. In responding to dark jokes, a person with a disability uses resilience to maintain their self-actualization in the community. The objectives of this study are (1) to analyze the resilience dynamics of Gen-Z people with physical disabilities towards the dark joke phenomenon. The method used in this research is qualitative research with phenomenological design. Data collection was conducted by in-depth interviews with 3 key informants and 3 supporting informants. The results of this study indicate that aspects of resilience that arise include (1) emotion regulation; (2) Reaching out; (3) Imput control of negative behavior; (4) use of dark jokes; (5) optimism and support from the surrounding environment; (6) self-adjustment; and (7) self-efficacy. People with disabilities also use coping mechanisms as a problem-solving strategy that includes emotion focused coping and problem focused coping. Through resilience and coping owned by people with disabilities, they are able to actualize themselves and accept their physical limitations.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology has significantly accelerated the dissemination of information, including harmful content such as pornography. This phenomenon raises concerns about the potential for pornography addiction among adolescents with unrestricted access to digital media. This study aims to analyze the level of pornography addiction tendencies among junior high school students and to explore the role of guidance and counseling services in addressing this issue. A mixed-methods approach was employed using an exploratory sequential design. Quantitative data were collected through a survey assessing the level of pornography addiction, while qualitative data were obtained through focus group discussions (FGD) with school counselors to examine implemented strategies and encountered challenges. Instruments included a pornography addiction scale and structured interview guidelines. Quantitative findings reveal that the majority of students (93.2%) fall into the low addiction tendency category, while 6.8% are in the moderate category. Qualitative results indicate that pornography addiction is driven by uncontrolled technological access, lack of supervision, and negative social influences. Although preventive efforts have been initiated through counseling services, their effectiveness remains limited due to insufficient support and inadequate facilities. The study recommends the development of educational media focused on enhancing adolescents’ self-control as a strategic intervention to prevent pornography addiction in secondary education contexts.
