Abstract

Contextual learning theory emphasizes the importance of the learning environment and real-life situations in the learning process. When applied to the teaching of the Arabic language, this approach focuses on integrating language learning with the cultural, social, and historical contexts of the Arab world. By doing so, it aims to make the learning experience more engaging, meaningful, and relevant to the students. This approach recognizes that language is deeply connected to culture, and therefore, language learning should not be isolated from its cultural context. It advocates for the use of authentic materials, such as literature, music, and films, to provide learners with a holistic understanding of the language and its cultural significance. Furthermore contextual learning theory encourages interactive and communicative language activities that mirror real-life language use, enabling students to develop practical language skills that are applicable to genuine social and cultural settings. In the context of teaching Arabic, this approach can enhance students' motivation and interest in learning the language by making the learning experience more dynamic and immersive. It also supports the development of students' intercultural competence by fostering an understanding of the cultural nuances embedded in the language. In summary, the contextual learning theory as an approach to teaching Arabic language offers a comprehensive and engaging framework that integrates language learning with thecultural, social, and historical contexts of the Arab world. By doing so, it aims to make the learning experience more meaningful, relevant, and captivating for students.

Abstract

This research discusses the role of transformational leadership in improving the performance of the teacher team at TK IT AZKIYATUN NAJAH. This study aims to identify important elements that influence team performance and develop effective strategies for improving performance. Qualitative research methods were used with selected interviews and related data collection. The research results show that transformational leadership has a positive impact on team performance. Transformational leadership is characterized by a clear vision, vision management, and team motivation. A positive relationship between transformational leadership and team performance was found, with leaders able to motivate, build trust, and strengthen team engagement. Supporting factors and strategies for implementing transformational leadership are also discussed. The implications of this research are expected to provide better insight into how transformational leadership can improve team performance in the educational context of TK IT AZKIYATUN NAJAH.

Abstract

Keterampilan menyimak merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam penguasaan Bahasa Arab, namun kenyataannya masih banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami percakapan berbahasa Arab secara lisan. Media pembelajaran konvensional seringkali kurang mampu menarik perhatian siswa dan tidak memberikan pengalaman menyimak yang nyata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan video pembelajaran terhadap keterampilan menyimak Bahasa Arab siswa kelas VIII di SMP IT Al-Furqan Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu (quasi-experimental). Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes keterampilan menyimak yang diberikan sebelum (pre-test) dan sesudah (post-test) perlakuan. Media video yang digunakan menampilkan percakapan Bahasa Arab sehari-hari yang sesuai dengan konteks pembelajaran siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata siswa setelah perlakuan. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa penggunaan video pembelajaran memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menyimak siswa. Oleh karena itu, video pembelajaran dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu media alternatif yang efektif dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Arab di sekolah menengah.
