Abstract

This article explores how the Qur'an encourages educational innovation and scientific discovery through various verses that emphasize the importance of science and critical thinking. Verses such as QS. Al-'Alaq: 1-5 and QS. Al-Mujadilah: 11 invites humans to read, study and respect knowledge, and recognize the greatness of God through knowledge. Education in the Koran aims to shape human character and deepen recognition of the greatness of God. The next discussion connects the scientific principles contained in the Koran with discoveries and innovations in modern science. Verses such as QS. Al-Hadid: 25 which discusses iron and QS. Al-Hijr: 22 on genetics shows that the Qur'an has relevance to contemporary scientific discoveries. This shows that the principles taught in the Koran can inspire progress in various fields of science. Finally, this article highlights how the Koran inspires technological innovation, especially in the field of transportation. Verses such as QS. An-Nahl: 8 and QS. Al-Mulk: 19 touches on advances in technology and transportation, showing that the Qur'an encourages humanity to continue to innovate for the welfare of the people and the preservation of the earth. In conclusion, religious teachings and science can go hand in hand, and the Qur'an encourages humanity to make discoveries and innovations that are beneficial for the common good. The research method used in this journal article is a qualitative method with a focus on the type of narrative or library research.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between the concept of creation in the Qur'an and modern biological theories, with a specific focus on integrating tafsir ilmi in understanding the creation of living beings. Through a literature review and thematic exegesis approach, this research examines Qur'anic verses related to the creation of humans and other living creatures, and compares them with contemporary biological theories. The findings reveal a harmony between the teachings of the Qur'an and scientific concepts, where both can complement each other in providing a deeper understanding of the creation process. This study also emphasizes the importance of integrating religion and science to reinforce the relevance of the Qur'an in the context of modern scientific advancements. Abstract

The change from the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Walisongo to the State Islamic University (UIN) Walisongo has influenced the scientific paradigm. The scientific fields taught and developed by UIN Walisongo are increasingly diverse so that a new paradigm is needed, which is reflected in the vision of UIN Walisongo, namely ‘Leading Islamic Research University Based on the Unity of Science for Humanity and Civilisation in 2038’. The consequence of the vision requires all stakeholders at UIN Walisongo to be involved in realising it, so the understanding of UIN Walisongo's vision must be lived by the entire academic community, including students. This study aims to determine the extent to which students of UIN Walisongo understand the vision of UIN Walisongo. This research is a qualitative research with an interview and field study approach. The results of this study indicate that students of UIN Walisongo understand the vision with the following details: 60% of students use the strategy of local wisdom, 30% of students use the strategy of humanisation of Islamic sciences, and 10% of students use the strategy of spiritualisation of general sciences.

Abstract

Character education in Islam has an important role in shaping the personality of students who have faith, morals and are socially responsible. However, in contemporary Islamic educational practice, the practice of character values is increasingly weakened. This research aims to examine the values of education in QS. Luqman:12-19 and sees its relevance to today's educational challenges. Using literature study methods and a descriptive qualitative approach, this research found that Luqman's advice contained important values such as monotheism, gratitude, respect for parents, amar ma'ruf nahi munkar, and humility. These values are conveyed through effective educational methods such as example, dialogue of affection, parables, and habituation. This research concludes that character education comes from QS. Luqman:12-19 is very relevant to be integrated into contemporary Islamic education as an effort to build a spiritually, socially and morally strong generation.

Abstract

Artikel ini mengeksplorasi pendidikan akhlak berdasarkan interpretasi Q.S. Al-Baqarah ayat 83. Fokus utama adalah pada pentingnya pendidikan akhlak dalam konteks pengembangan potensi manusia dan pembentukan karakter yang berakhlak mulia. Melalui studi kepustakaan, penulis melakukan analisis terhadap ayat tersebut untuk menggali nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang mencakup hubungan individu dengan Allah SWT, Rasulullah SAW, diri sendiri, keluarga, dan komunitas. Kesimpulan yang ditarik adalah pendidikan Islam memberikan sumbangsih yang signifikan dalam mewujudkan karakter yang inklusif, peduli terhadap sesama, serta menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai moral dan etika untuk menciptakan kerukunan dalam masyarakat yang majemuk.
