Abstract

Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian pengembangan atau Research and Development (R&D) yang bertujuan mengembangkan model pembelajaran literasi berbasis budaya lokal pada pembelajaran matematika di Nusa Tenggara Timur. Metode dalam penelitian ini meliputi studi literatur dan studi lapangan yang mencakup observasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran, pengisian angket, dan wawancara. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dalam lima kali uji coba hingga evaluasi dan revisi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Angkasa dan SMP St. Theresia Kupang. Pembelajaran yang dikembangkan terdiri dari tiga tahapan (Kern,2000) yaitu responding, revising, dan reflecting. Aspek budaya lokal yang digunakan yaitu penggunaan bahasa pergaulan (dialek Kupang) yang hanya dipakai pada saat diskusi kelompok atau interaksi antar siswa. Penggunaan dialek Kupang di antara siswa dapat membuat mereka lebih rileks, akrab, dan mudah berkomunikasi. Sedangkan komunikasi dengan guru tetap menggunakan bahwa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ini sbb: Respons siswa 86% mengatakan baik. Respon guru juga baik. Pembelajaran ini berjalan efektif yang ditunjukkan kemampuan guru mengelola pembelajaran baik, aktivitas guru dan aktivitas siswa selama proses pembelajaran berjalan baik, (3) ketuntasan belajar siswa mencapai 83%. Dari hasil keterlaksanaan komponen model sbb: 87% kegiatan dalam fase-fase sintaks terlaksana dengan baik, 84% sistem sosial terlaksana dengan baik, 89% prinsip reaksi terlaksana dengan baik, dan 88% sistem pendukung terlaksana dengan baik. Dengan demikian model pembelajaran ini dapat digunakan di sekolah dalam rangka meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa dalam bidang matematika.

Abstract

Bahan ajar merupakan salah satu alat yang dapat membantu guru dan siswa mempelajari sesuatu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis budaya lokal yang berkualitas baik. Bahan ajar berbasis budaya lokal yang dikembangkan berfokus pada materi bangun datar untuk mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar. Kualitas bahan ajar ini diukur menggunakan beberapa instrumen, antara lain: (1) lembar validasi untuk mengumpulkan data kevalidan, (2) lembar observasi aktivitas dosen dan mahasiswa untuk mengumpulkan data kepraktisan, dan (3) soal pretest dan posttest digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data keefektifan hasil belajar mahasiswa. Simpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahan ajar berbasis budaya lokal yang dihasilkan berkualitas baik karena memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif. Kelebihan dari bahan ajar ini adalah mudah dipahami karena memuat unsur budaya berupa kain tenun, memanfaatkan aplikasi geogebra dalam pengembangannya serta dikembangkan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pelajar. Teaching materials are one of the tools that can help teachers and students learn something. This research aims to develop good quality local culture-based teaching materials. The local culture-based teaching materials developed a focus on flat building materials for Elementary School Teacher Education students. The quality of these teaching materials is measured using several instruments, including (1) validation sheets to collect validity data, (2) observation sheets of lecturer and student activities to collect practical data, and (3) pretest and posttest questions used to collect data on the effectiveness of student learning outcomes. This study concludes that the local culture-based teaching materials produced are of good quality because they meet the valid, practical, and effective criteria. The advantage of this teaching material is that it is easy to understand because it contains cultural elements in the form of woven fabrics, utilizes geogebra applications in its development, and is developed according to student needs.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) determine the perceptions of class VIII students regarding the characteristics of mathematics teachers at SMPN 2 Kupang; (2) determine the mathematics learning achievement of class VIII students at SMPN 2 Kupang; and (3) determine the influence of class VIII students' perceptions regarding the characteristics of mathematics teachers on mathematics learning achievement at SMPN 2 Kupang.. This research uses a simple regression analysis approach. The population in this study were class VIII students of SMPN 2 Kupang. The sample in this study was 30 students obtained through the cluster random sampling method. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires and tests. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and inferentially using SPSS 23. Descriptive research results showed that some students had a good perception of the characteristics of mathematics teachers with a good percentage 66.67% and had good mathematics learning achievement with a good percentage 83.3%. Inferentially shows there a significant influence between students' perceptions of the characteristics of mathematics teachers on mathematics learning achievement as indicated by the value of tcount (2,714) < ttable (1,701)   at the 5% significance level which means that H0 is rejected and there is a large influence of students' perceptions of the characteristics of mathematics teachers on achievement. studying mathematics is 20.8%.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengadian kepada Masyarakat di SMPN I Semau Selatan ini untuk menjawabi kurannya pemahaman untuk Implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka. Kurangnya pengetahuan Implemntasi Kurikulum Merdeka ini sebagai akibat dari keberadaan sekolah yang mempunyai jarak jauh dari pusat kabupaten. Permaslahan inin kemudian diatasai dengan pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada Masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan dengan ceramah dan diskusi dengan kepala sekolah dan guru-guru. Konsep karakteristik Kurikulum Merdeka, pembelajaran, penyusunan Tujuan Pembelajaran dan Alur Tujuan Pembelajaran serta Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila dipaparkan dalam kegiatan ini. Hasil yang diperoleh bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dalam Implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in border areas faces complex challenges, particularly in schools such as SMP Negeri Silawan and SMP Negeri SATAP Suspini. This study aims to describe the dynamics of teachers’ adaptation to Merdeka Curriculum within the context of infrastructural limitation, socio-econimic contiditions and local cultural values. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations and document analysis. The results reval that despite  strong commitment from schools and teachers, key obstacles such as limited access to training, inadequate facilities and low digital literacy continue to hinder effevtive implementation. However, adaptive strategies such as teacher collaboration, modification of teaching materials and the integration of of local cultural values into learning processes show potential to enhance curriculum relevance. These results highlight the need to strengthen teacher capacity about learning methods, improve infrastructure and provide greater flexibility in curriculum application to suit local contexts in border areas.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Discovery Learning model on students' conceptual understanding and learning outcomes in the Pythagorean Theorem material. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the One Group Pretest–Posttest Design, involving 32 eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Kupang. The research instruments were conceptual understanding tests and student learning outcome tests. The data were analyzed using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and the paired sample t-test through SPSS to determine the difference in scores before and after the implementation of learning. The results showed that the pre-test and post-test data were normally distributed, thus fulfilling the assumptions of parametric testing. The average pre-test score of 71.13 increased to 83.19 on the post-test, with a difference of 12.06 points. The paired sample t-test resulted in a t-value of -11.108 with a significance level of p = 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores. These findings indicate that the Discovery Learning model has a significant effect on improving students' conceptual understanding and learning outcomes in the Pythagorean Theorem material. Thus, Discovery Learning can be used as an effective and relevant alternative learning model in mathematics education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' mistakes in solving story problems in one-variable linear inequality material. Using a qualitative descriptive method, three grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Kupang were selected as subjects based on the wrong answers in the description test. Data was obtained through written tests and interviews. The results of the study showed errors in understanding the context, estimating and interpreting variables, compiling mathematical models, and performing algebraic procedures. Students also misinterpret the final result so that the answers do not fit the real context. These findings show that students' mastery of algebraic concepts and mathematical modeling abilities is still low. A learning strategy that emphasizes understanding concepts and relating the material to contextual situations is needed to improve students' problem-solving skills.
