Abstract

Acute Respiratory Infection is an acute infectious disease that attacks one or more parts of the respiratory tract from the nose (upper tract) to the alveoli (lower tract). The main transmission of upper respiratory tract infections is through droplets that come out of the sufferer's nose/mouth when coughing or sneezing which contain bacteria. Some cases of upper respiratory tract infections can cause extraordinary events with high mortality and morbidity rates, causing a public health emergency and becoming a national problem. This study used an analytical design with the aim of identifying the relationship between independent variables, namely maternal knowledge and prevention of the incidence of upper respiratory tract infections at the Nuhon Community Health Center. The sample used was 74 mothers. The results of the research found that 62 respondents (83.8%) had poor knowledge and 12 people had good knowledge (16.2%), it was found that 64 respondents (16.2%) were found. 86.5%) did it incorrectly and 10 people did it correctly (13.5%). The research conclusions show that from the test results of respondents and the incidence of Upper Respiratory Tract Infections , there is a relationship between overall knowledge and prevention efforts against Upper Respiratory Tract Infections.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the social factors that cause inequality in access to health services in the community and analyze the dynamics of interaction between medical personnel and patients that contribute to conflicts in the health sector. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving in-depth interviews with five informants consisting of patients, medical personnel, and health facility managers. The results showed that socioeconomic inequality, educational level, geographical conditions, and uneven health policies are the main factors causing inequality in access to health services. In addition, ineffective communication dynamics, different expectations, and power imbalances between medical personnel and patients contribute significantly to conflicts in medical interactions. This study suggests the need for improvements in the distribution of health resources, increased public health literacy, and communication training for medical personnel to reduce inequality and prevent conflict. These findings are expected to provide insights for the development of more inclusive health policies and improve the relationship between medical personnel and patients.

Abstract

This research examines the relationship between urban environmental degradation and community mental health disorders, focusing on the interdependence between the two. Environmental degradation, which includes air pollution, decreasing quality of green spaces, and increasing deterioration of city infrastructure, has been shown to contribute to a decline in the quality of life in urban environments. The impact on people's mental health, such as anxiety, stress, and depression, becomes more significant as environmental conditions worsen. Air quality degradation and lack of open space often affect psychological well-being, increase levels of discomfort, and worsen mental health conditions, especially among people living in more vulnerable areas. This research methodology uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional and longitudinal design to analyze the relationship between environmental degradation and mental health. The sampling technique used was stratified random sampling, where the population was divided based on the level of environmental degradation (high, medium, low) in major cities in South Sulawesi. The sample included approximately 500 respondents for the cross-sectional design and 200 respondents for the longitudinal design. Mental health was measured using standardized psychological questionnaires to evaluate levels of anxiety, stress, and depression, while environmental conditions were measured using parameters of air pollution, quality of green open spaces, and infrastructure degradation. The findings suggest that integrated environmental improvements, such as green open space management and pollution control, can improve the physical and psychological conditions of urban residents. This study recommends the design of more environmentally friendly urban policies to improve the quality of life and psychological well-being of city residents.

Abstract

Factors that cause early marriage among teenagers include arranged marriages carried out by parents who believe in customs that are afraid that their children will become spinsters, committing adultery for Muslims. Another factor is accidents, this happens because the flow of modernization is increasingly rapidly spreading into the social life of every teenager so that usually teenagers who marry at a relatively young age are forced to do so. The purpose of Community Service is to increase knowledge about the impact of early marriage referring to formal or informal marriage for the mental and physical health of teenagers. The method used in Community Service activities is socialization and education of adolescent health through discussions and questions and answers related to reproductive health conditions. The results of community service were obtained based on post-test data showing that knowledge about the impact of early marriage on teenagers was more in the good category, as many as 45 people out of 47 people with a value of 89 from the total respondents. The conclusion is that early marriage can reduce harmony in the family, this is caused by emotions that are still unstable, the turmoil of young blood and immature ways of thinking. And the inability of the husband to meet the economic needs of the family causes deviations in the community environment.
