Abstract

Violence in the name of religion continues to sprout within Indonesian society. This article aims to describe the religious conflict resolution model of the NU Ansor Youth Movement and the Muhammadiyah Youth of the Paciran Lamongan Branch. This research employs a qualitative method with a sociological approach to religion, and data collection was conducted through interviews and the study of relevant literature. The findings of this study indicate that: 1) Both the NU Ansor Youth Movement and Muhammadiyah Youth reject violent models of preaching. 2) There is a difference in attitude towards perpetrators of violence, where the NU Ansor Youth Movement tends to adopt a non-accommodative firm stance, unequivocally rejecting and insisting that perpetrators of violence must be punished according to legal statutes, whereas Muhammadiyah Youth exhibits a firm-accommodative attitude, sternly condemning acts of violence but remaining willing to embrace and invite the perpetrators back to a tolerant and inclusive understanding. 3) The media of resolution employed include issuing advisory letters, press releases to the media, dialogues among community elements, conveying deradicalization insights through religious study sessions (Yasinan and Tahlilan), and the formation of Densus 99 Anti-Terror. 4) The conflict resolution model consists of two stages: long-term, aiming to build cadre awareness of the importance of a tolerant attitude and peaceful living through education, training, social and economic empowerment, ideological development, and the distribution of cadres to the public domain; and short-term, wherein preaching programs are executed sporadically and reactively at the time or after acts of violence to prevent the expansion and escalation of conflict.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas penanaman nilai-nilai multikultural, yang meliputi nilai toleransi, persatuan, kekerabatan, dan keadilan, kepada siswa melalui media Virtual Reality (VR) di SD Muhammadiyah 18 Surabaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas 5 dan 6 yang berjumlah 60 orang. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan kuesioner, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan VR dalam pembelajaran nilai-nilai multikultural dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang toleransi, persatuan, kekerabatan, dan keadilan. Melalui pengalaman imersif yang diberikan oleh VR, siswa dapat merasakan langsung situasi dan kondisi berbagai budaya, yang memperkaya wawasan mereka dan menumbuhkan sikap inklusif. Selain itu, respons siswa terhadap pembelajaran berbasis VR sangat positif, dengan mayoritas siswa merasa lebih tertarik dan termotivasi untuk belajar. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penanaman nilai-nilai multikultural berbasis VR efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran multikultural siswa di SD Muhammadiyah 18 Surabaya. Implementasi teknologi VR dalam pembelajaran diharapkan dapat menjadi model inovatif dalam pendidikan nilai-nilai multikultural di Indonesia. Abstract

We already know that the 2019 presidential election contestation is a very harsh contestation between two pairs of presidential candidates, namely Jokowi and Prabowo. The severity of the contestation is feared to trigger horizontal conflicts and people divisions which causing at least 8 people to die in the election results protest on May 21-22, 2019 in Jakarta. The severity of the contestation is one of the things because the 2019 presidential election involves identity political practices. Therefore this research intends to analyze how much the role of agents and structures in influencing the independence of political choices of voters in each Identity. In the process of analysis this research uses Anthony Giddens' Theory of Structuralization. Departing from Anthony Giddens' theory of structure, this research seeks to explore how significant the influence of agents and structures in influencing the independence of political choices of voters. This research uses qualitative research methods with a critical empirical approach. In this study, it has been found that in influencing the independence of political choices, agent voters and structures are supported by two things, namely alocative and authoritative resources, but in this study there is a finding that to influence the nature of the independence of political choices, voters is not enough only with alocative and authoritative resources, but we find that there are logistical and historical resources that play a significant role in influencing the independence of the political choices of each voters.   Keyword: Identity Politics, Historical, Logistics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the relevance of pluralist thought pioneered by Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) to Generation Z as a means of strengthening religious moderation in the current era, enabling them to act wisely in various situations and phenomena. This research employs a library research method, involving the collection of written data or works related to Gus Dur’s pluralist ideas, which are bibliographical in nature. The findings of this study indicate that Gus Dur’s pluralist thought remains highly relevant to the challenges faced by Generation Z today. The discussion identifies religious moderation from the perspective of Gus Dur’s pluralism, encouraging imitation and emulation of his attitudes and behaviours when addressing various religious situations and phenomena. Gus Dur serves as a role model for demonstrating tolerance, inclusivity, and harmony within diversity—qualities that are crucial for Generation Z, who navigate a world of digital information and complex social dynamics. This study concludes that Gus Dur’s pluralist views significantly contribute to strengthening religious moderation among Generation Z, fostering a spirit of tolerance and inclusiveness, and reinforcing national solidarity and unity. For future researchers, it is recommended to further develop similar studies to provide deeper, more comprehensive insights and address existing research gaps.

Abstract

Studi ini melihat bagaimana tradisi berqurban pada momen Idul Adha di Desa Bulubrangsi Kecamatan Laren Kabupaten Lamongan, terutama di kalangan perantau yang berhubungan dengan religiusitas dan kompetisi sosial. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana perantau tetap terlibat dalam qurban meskipun mereka jauh dari kampung halaman dan bagaimana fenomena ini menunjukkan adanya aspek religiusitas dan perubahan sosial. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode studi kasus, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan perantau dan warga setempat yang berjumlah tiga responden. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa religiusitas memainkan peran penting dalam mendorong perantau untuk berqurban di Desa asal mereka sebagai bentuk kepatuhan terhadap ajaran agama dan ikatan sosial mereka. Selain itu, kompetisi sosial muncul di antara para perantau, di mana kontribusi berqurban seringkali dianggap sebagai tanda keberhasilan dan status sosial. Meskipun kompetisi ini memiliki dampak positif dalam meningkatkan jumlah qurban dan memperkuat ikatan sosial, terdapat juga dampak negatif, seperti munculnya sikap riya’ dan kesenjangan sosial. Untuk memastikan bahwa tradisi qurban tetap bermakna sebagai bentuk kepedulian dan pengabdian masyarakat, perlu dijaga keseimbangan antara nilai ibadah dan aspek sosial. Dalam konteks penelitian ini, khususnya dalam tradisi berqurban pada Idul Adha, terdapat potensi untuk mengembangkan beberapa hipotesis baru yang lebih spesifik. Salah satu hipotesis yang dapat diusulkan adalah bahwa tingkat religiusitas individu berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tingkat partisipasi sosial mereka dalam tradisi berqurban.
