Abstract

This research aims to determine evacuation routes that suit community needs to minimize losses and the number of victims caused by volcanic disasters. This is because there is infrastructure that can strengthen preparedness and reduce community vulnerability in facing disasters. The method used in this research is Participatory Action Research (PAR). Participatory Action Research is research that involves all parties who play an important role in studying ongoing actions by carrying out changes for the better. For data collection techniques, observation techniques were used, namely directly visiting the location of Supiturang village, Pronojiwo Lumajang. The conclusion from the results of the discussion in this research is that, geographically, Supiturang Village is one of the villages within the scope of Pronojiwo District, Lumajang Regency, East Java. The profile of local residents around Mount Semeru who have relatively limited access to assets makes these local residents a community that is less responsive in facing the threats and impacts of volcanic disasters that could arise at any time. The results of the revitalization of evacuation route instructions according to procedures in this activity consist of several stages as follows, initial mapping, organizing the community, determining a research agenda for social change, participatory mapping, formulating problems, developing organizing strategies, program implementation, and reflection. Abstract

This article delves into the stylistics features of the Arabic language in the Qur’an, focusing specifically on Surah Al-Baqarah, verses 115 to 130, which highlight Al-Asmā’ al-Ḥusnā, or “the most beautiful names.” These divine names embody the exalted qualities of Allah and provide a pathway to understanding His essence. Through a stylistic lens, the article investigates how various linguistic devices such as metaphors, alliteration, and repetition serve to amplify both the message and the aesthetic appeal of these verses. The analysis reveals that each name not only conveys a unique meaning but also enriches the broader narrative and spiritual framework of Surah Al-Baqarah. With its profound linguistic artistry, the Qur'an encourages readers to contemplate the deeper significance of Allah’s names, fostering a greater connection to their faith and spiritual comprehension. This study seeks to offer fresh insights in Qur'anic scholarship and promote a deeper appreciation of the linguistic beauty inherent in this noble text.

Abstract

Abstract: Al-Qur'an, as the greatest miracle granted to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), stands out due to its two fundamental aspects: its profound, wisdom and its unparalleled linguistic eloquence. Among its many narratives, the story of Prophet Isa and his mother, Maryam, appears in multiple surahs, offering rich insights into human history. In this regard, stylistics, as a branch of linguistic studies, plays a pivotal role in deciphering the text’s deeper meanings, messages, and authorial intent, ultimately enriching a richer the reader’s comprehension. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing listening and note-taking techniques for data collection. The findings indicate that the Qur'an employs a diverse range of stylistic features in narrating the story of Prophet Isa, including: (1) variations in word choice, encompassing formal, informal, and conversational styles; (2) tonal distinctions, where formal, informal, and conversational tones are evident; and (3) sentence structures that incorporate rhetorical techniques such as climax, anticlimax, and repetition to strengthen the narrative’s impact.

Abstract

Arabic language teaching in Indonesia continues to face persistent challenges, particularly in fostering student’s practical and communicative competencies. One promising approach to addres this issue is language immersion, which places learners in environments that simulate native Arabic usage. This article delves into explores the implementation of language immersion in Arabic learning within bilingual environment settings. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis, including syllabi and records of learning activities. The analysis followed the BJOG Perspectives on Qualitative Research framework, encompassing stages of initial coding, thematic categorization, and reflective narrative interpretation. Results demonstrate that language immersion significantly enhances students' Arabic proficiency, particularly in speaking, listening, and active participation. Student exhibited increased confidence in using Arabic not only in formal classroom contexts but also in everyday interactions. These outcomes underscore the importance of sustained language exposure, authentic social interaction, and context-rich learning in second language acquisition. This study offers a novelty contribution by highlighting how language immersion is applied in the distinctive environment of bilingual pesantren, where classroom instruction is integrated with students’ daily routines. The synergy between structured academic activities and natural language use in dormitory life fosters a comprehensive and continuous learning experience. This model, blending formal instruction with informal immersion, remains underexplored in prior research and presents a valuable framework for Arabic language education in similar contexts.

Abstract

Language environment constitutes a fundamental pillar in second language acquisition, including learning Arabic within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). The variation of input, the intensity of interaction, and the consistency of practice collectively form the primary scaffolds for developing students’ communicative competence. In the pesantren context, these elements are both pedagogical tools and part of a broader cultural and spiritual ecosystem that shapes language use in structured and spontaneous ways. When effectively designed and managed, this dual ecosystem has the potential to accelerate the process of Arabic acquisition significantly. This article examines the dynamics of the Arabic language environment in pesantren and its relationship with the core dimensions of input, interaction, and output. A qualitative case study design was employed, with participants selected purposively to capture diverse language learning experiences. Data collection involved observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, which were systematically analysed using Krippendorff’s content analysis framework, covering data reduction, thematic classification, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings point to two interrelated categories of the Arabic language environment. The first is the formal environment, encompassing structured classroom learning such as maharat al-qirā’ah, al-kitābah, al-istimā‘, and al-kalām. This environment facilitates the acquisition of linguistic accuracy by aligning input and teacher–student interaction with grammatical and syntactical norms. The second is the informal environment, which emerges in daily activities such as muḥādathah, ilqā’ al-mufradāt, maḥkamat al-lughah, and muḥāḍarah. Unlike the formal setting, the informal environment privileges fluency and spontaneity, enabling learners to transform theoretical knowledge into practical communicative competence. These findings underscore that the synergy between formal and informal environments is both complementary and transformative: it enriches input, strengthens interaction, and ensures that output is accurate and communicatively meaningful. The implication is clear: success in Arabic language learning within pesantren is primarily determined by how comprehensively the language environment is designed to integrate theoretical instruction with authentic communicative practice.

Abstract

Al-Qur’an is recognized not only as a sacred scripture containing religious teachings but also as a literary masterpiece rich in linguistic beauty and artistic imagery. Its captivating style brings vivid and meaningful visual images to life, allowing divine messages to be conveyed in a deeper and more thought-provoking manner to its readers. This study aims to analyze the use of literary imagery elements in Surah Al-Qalam and their role in effectively and aesthetically delivering religious messages. Employing a qualitative approach, the study uses descriptive analysis of the verses of Surah Al-Qalam through the lens of classical Arabic stylistics, focusing particularly on tasybīh (simile), isti‘ārah (metaphor), tashkhīṣ (personification), kināyah (irony), and majāz (metonymy). The findings reveal that these five imagery elements are harmoniously applied to express complex meanings in a visual, imaginative, and communicative manner. Tashkhīṣ animates abstract concepts; tasybīh and isti‘ārah enhance the visual representation of teachings; while kināyah and majāz deepen symbolic meaning and strengthen the rhetorical impact of the verses. The study concludes that the use of imagery in Surah Al-Qalam is not mere literary decoration but serves as a crucial instrument in clarifying and reinforcing the divine message.
