Abstract

Tablets are solid preparations that contain medicinal ingredients with or without fillers. The addition of disintegrating materials aims to counter the pressure during tablet manufacturing, especially in the process of releasing the tablet dosage form which begins with the disintegration process. In this analysis, the method used is based on a literature review from electronic data sources. Based on the literature results, starch can act as a crushing agent because the granules are able to expand when in contact with water and amylose is a component that has the properties of a crushing agent because of its ability to expand. It can be concluded that starch or starch from any plant is effective as a tablet disintegrating agent not only because of its good water contact ability, but if we look at the evaluation tests produced, almost all of them meet the requirements.

Abstract

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic disease with increasing prevalence and can lead to serious complications if not properly managed. This condition is caused by insulin resistance or insufficient insulin secretion, which can result in severe complications if neglected. This study uses a literature review method to analyze the role of education and pharmaceutical care in improving medication adherence, blood glucose control, and patient quality of life. The results show that interventions such as counseling, home pharmacy care, and booklet-based education significantly enhance patient adherence and therapy effectiveness. In conclusion, the active role of pharmacists in education and pharmaceutical care is crucial to supporting optimal T2DM management.

Abstract

Sterile injection preparations are liquid pharmaceutical preparations that are specifically designed to be administered directly into the body through injection using a sterile syringe or clean injection device. The main requirement for sterile injection preparations is that they must be free from microorganisms, foreign particles, and pyrogenic substances that can trigger fever or infection reactions in patients. Testing the quality of sterile injection preparations includes various aspects, ranging from sterility testing, pyrogenicity testing, clarity testing, to stability testing during the shelf life. Stability testing aims to ensure that the preparation remains safe, effective, and stable until its expiration date. The purpose of this study was to determine the evaluation of sterile injection preparations. The method used is by reviewing journals from Google Scholar, Pubmed, etc. from 2018-2024.
