Abstract

The National Health Insurance Program (JKN) organized by BPJS Health aims to improve access and quality of health services for all levels of Indonesian society. This research examines the effectiveness of the JKN program, with a focus on the use of the JKN mobile application, program implementation in health facilities, and factors that influence service quality. Based on case studies in several regions, the research results show that the JKN mobile application makes it easy for participants to access health-related services and information, although there are still obstacles such as a lack of public understanding of the application and technical problems. Apart from that, health services in hospitals and community health centers still face challenges such as a shortage of medical personnel, delays in services, and timeliness in administrative processes. Although the JKN program has expanded access to services, challenges in equal distribution of service quality and health resources still need to be overcome. Overall, the JKN program plays an important role in improving people's health and welfare, but improvements are needed in terms of community understanding, infrastructure and service efficiency to achieve more optimal and equitable health goals throughout Indonesia.

Abstract

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic disease with increasing prevalence and can lead to serious complications if not properly managed. This condition is caused by insulin resistance or insufficient insulin secretion, which can result in severe complications if neglected. This study uses a literature review method to analyze the role of education and pharmaceutical care in improving medication adherence, blood glucose control, and patient quality of life. The results show that interventions such as counseling, home pharmacy care, and booklet-based education significantly enhance patient adherence and therapy effectiveness. In conclusion, the active role of pharmacists in education and pharmaceutical care is crucial to supporting optimal T2DM management.

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition of persistent blood pressure above normal (≥140/90 mmHg) that affects 1.28 billion adults globally, with an increasing prevalence in developing countries including Indonesia (34.1% in 2018). The purpose of this review article is to determine the level of patient compliance in the use of antihypertensive drugs in hospitals and health centers. The method used is a narrative literature review by searching 9 articles published between 2020 and 2025. The literature review search was conducted through academic databases from Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and ScienceDirect. The selected articles must be relevant to the topic of patient compliance in the use of antihypertensive drugs and meet the predetermined inclusion criteria. The results showed that the level of patient compliance varied, with most patients showing moderate compliance. Several factors that influence patient compliance include the number of drugs consumed and the duration of treatment. Through this review, it is hoped that it can improve readers' understanding in order to improve the level of patient compliance in undergoing hypertension therapy.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a global health problem that continues to increase, especially in Indonesia. This disease is characterized by high blood glucose levels due to impaired insulin metabolism. This article aims to evaluate the effect of pharmaceutical education, particularly through booklets, pocket books, and counseling, on the self-management of type 2 DM patients. The results of the study show that pharmaceutical education is significant in improving patients' knowledge, compliance, and quality of life. Education through booklets and pharmacy counseling helps patients understand the importance of managing diet and physical activity. Although education has been shown to improve control of blood glucose levels, many patients still face challenges in consistently implementing self-management. Therefore, a more integrated and sustainable educational approach is needed to support DM patients in managing their condition effectively.

Abstract

The smoking habit among teenagers has become a serious health issue, with prevalence continually increasing. Smoking at a young age is associated with various health risks, including cancer, heart disease, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. One of the main contributing factors is peer influence and social environment. To reduce smoking habits, innovative approaches are needed, one of which is using innovative candies as an alternative to cigarettes. This study aims to analyze the potential of innovative candies in reducing smoking habits among teenagers. The method used is qualitative research with a literature review, collecting relevant scientific journal articles. The results indicate that candies such as Xylitol chewing gum, milk candy, cinnamon extract, and Vernonia cinerea extract can effectively reduce the frequency of smoking by providing a similar sensation without the negative effects of nicotine. Additionally, these candy products also have added benefits, such as improving oral and respiratory health. In conclusion, innovative candies can be a creative and effective solution to reduce smoking habits among teenagers, but further research is needed to assess their sustainability and long-term effects.
