Abstract

Abstract

The National Health Insurance Program (JKN) organized by BPJS Health aims to improve access and quality of health services for all levels of Indonesian society. This research examines the effectiveness of the JKN program, with a focus on the use of the JKN mobile application, program implementation in health facilities, and factors that influence service quality. Based on case studies in several regions, the research results show that the JKN mobile application makes it easy for participants to access health-related services and information, although there are still obstacles such as a lack of public understanding of the application and technical problems. Apart from that, health services in hospitals and community health centers still face challenges such as a shortage of medical personnel, delays in services, and timeliness in administrative processes. Although the JKN program has expanded access to services, challenges in equal distribution of service quality and health resources still need to be overcome. Overall, the JKN program plays an important role in improving people's health and welfare, but improvements are needed in terms of community understanding, infrastructure and service efficiency to achieve more optimal and equitable health goals throughout Indonesia.

Abstract

Antibacterial substances such as thymoquinone, carvacrol, thymol, and p-cymene are found in black cumin (Nigella sativa), a type of herb. This study reviewed 12 recent scientific publications to assess the antibacterial efficacy of N. sativa against clinical pathogenic microorganisms. A comprehensive literature review of in vitro, in silico studies, and applications was conducted. The study found that black cumin extract and oil were more efficient against Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus than Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi. The antibacterial activity increased with the concentration of the extract, especially in the polar form (ethanol). Active compounds such as thymoquinone also showed high binding affinity to MRSA bacterial proteins molecularly. The application of N. sativa in the form of ointments, antibacterial textiles, and dental health products also showed good effectiveness. Based on these findings, Nigella sativa has great potential as a safe and environmentally friendly natural antibacterial alternative, although further clinical studies are needed to validate its efficacy and safety.

Abstract

Abstract

Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) are plants that are grown in the yard and are efficacious as medicine. The plants planted in the mini garden are telang flowers, red binahong, and kumis kucing. The manufacture of TOGA serves as a means to bring medicinal plants closer to public health efforts, which include preventive efforts (prevention), promotive efforts (improving health degrees), and curative efforts (curing diseases). Based on the problems and potentials owned by Sumbergede village, Wringinanom District, Gresik Regency, several stages are carried out, namely coordinating the creation of a mini toga garden with the head of Sumbergede village, conducting a survey of the location where the TOGA mini park will be made, Preparing tools and materials to create a TOGA mini garden, Making a TOGA mini garden. The educational participants seemed enthusiastic about participating in this activity. Some participants were able to identify the types of TOGA around their homes and were motivated to add other kinds of TOGA. The use of TOGA is considered safer, more practical, and does not require much cost than the use of drugs from pharmacies. Through this activity, it is hoped that the community can be motivated to plant TOGA around their homes and increase the use of TOGA in the treatment of diseases with mild symptoms in the community. Family medicinal plants are very important because they concern the health aspect of the community of Sumbergede village.

Abstract

Medicine is an essential part of daily life, yet public knowledge regarding safe medication management often falls short of health standards. To address this issue, the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (Ikatan Apoteker Indonesia, IAI) launched the DAGUSIBU educational program (Obtain, Use, Store, Dispose) to enhance understanding of proper medication management. This study aims to assess the level of knowledge among the residents of Larangan Dalam Village, Larangan District, Pamekasan Regency regarding the DAGUSIBU principles and identify factors influencing their understanding. The study employs a quantitative descriptive approach using purposive sampling techniques, involving 98 respondents from a total population of 3,303 aged 17 to 60 years. Data were collected through a questionnaire covering demographic variables and questions about procedures for obtaining, using, storing, and disposing of medications according to IAI guidelines. Analysis was conducted using the Guttman scale to classify knowledge into three categories: good, moderate, and poor. The results reveal that 42.9% of respondents have good knowledge, 36.7% have moderate knowledge, and 20.4% have poor understanding of medication management. These findings highlight the importance of enhancing health education and strategic interventions to optimize medication management at the household level and prevent the risks of misuse and negative health impacts. The recommendations based on this study are expected to serve as a reference for healthcare institutions and related organizations in designing effective intervention programs.

Abstract

Hypertension is a condition of persistent blood pressure above normal (≥140/90 mmHg) that affects 1.28 billion adults globally, with an increasing prevalence in developing countries including Indonesia (34.1% in 2018). The purpose of this review article is to determine the level of patient compliance in the use of antihypertensive drugs in hospitals and health centers. The method used is a narrative literature review by searching 9 articles published between 2020 and 2025. The literature review search was conducted through academic databases from Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and ScienceDirect. The selected articles must be relevant to the topic of patient compliance in the use of antihypertensive drugs and meet the predetermined inclusion criteria. The results showed that the level of patient compliance varied, with most patients showing moderate compliance. Several factors that influence patient compliance include the number of drugs consumed and the duration of treatment. Through this review, it is hoped that it can improve readers' understanding in order to improve the level of patient compliance in undergoing hypertension therapy.
