Abstract

Udang vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei) merupakan salah satu jenis krustasea yang bernilai ekonomis dan memiliki beberapa kelebihan untuk dikonsumsi maupun produksinya. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui teknik pembenihan udang vaname di Balai Besar Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau (BBPBAP) Jepara, Jawa Tengah. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode praktik langsung di lapangan, pengumpulan data primer dan sekunder serta literatur pendukung. Induk udang vaname yang akan dipijahkan sebanyak 70 ekor (35 betina dan 35 ekor jantan). Hasil yang diperoleh pada saat kegiatan yaitu pemijahan udang vaname di BBPBAP Jepara dilakukan secara alami. Pemijahan terjadi secara eksternal atau diluar tubuh dan memperoleh fekunditas 243.796 butir/induk, derajat pembuahan sebesar 62%, derajat penetasan sebesar 80%, dan kelulushidupan udang vaname sebesar 39%.

Abstract

Aeromonas hydrophila is a gram-negative bacterium that can infect fish and is zoonotic to humans. Efforts to prevent this bacterial infection can be made using herbal plants due to the content of secondary metabolite compounds. This study aims to explore plants that have the potential as antibacterials, especially A. hydrophila bacteria. This research was conducted in February 2024 at the Marine Biotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Riau. The experimental method used included the stages of preparation of plant leaf samples and antibacterial tests using Kirby-Bauer discs. The plants used were the leaves of senduduk (Melastoma malabathricum), kantong semar (Nepenthes sp), lime (Citrus aurantifolia), belimbing bukit (Acetosella barreligeri), sirsak (Annona muricata), mucuna (Mucuna bracteata), Israel grass (Asystasia gangetica), and miana (Coleus scutellariodes). The results showed that the leaves of kantong semar, senduduk, and belimbing bukit could inhibit bacterial growth in a strong category. In contrast, the leaves of sirsak, mucuna, Israel grass, miana, and lime were classified as moderately inhibiting the growth of A. hydrophila bacteria. In conclusion, these herbal plants can potentially prevent A. hydrophila bacterial infection.

Abstract

kan nila salin (Oreochromis niloticus) adalah salah satu jenis ikan air tawar yang mudah dibudidayakan dan sangat diminati masyarakat. Pemijahan adalah suatu kegiatan untuk memproduksi benih demi keberlanjutan kegiatan budidaya. studi ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi mengenai pemijahan ikan nila salin. Studi ini dilaksanakan pada pada Januari s/d Februari 2023 di Balai Besar Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau (BBPBAP) Jepara, Jawa Tengah. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei dan praktek langsung dengan mengikuti semua kegiatan yang ada di lapangan mulai dari persiapan wadah, seleksi induk dan pemijahan induk. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan, pemijahan ikan nila salin di Balai Besar Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau (BBPBAP) Jepara dilakukan secara alami, yang menghasilkan fertilization rate mencapai 88.1% dan hatching rate mencapai 96.5%. Kualitas air pada wadah pemijahan masih berada pada kisaran yang mampu ditoleransi oleh ikan untuk melakukan pemijahan, yaitu pH berkisar antara 6.9-7.9, oksigen terlarut 6.5-7.6, suhu 26-30oC, dan salinitas 1-5 ppt
