Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine: (1) the difference of the science process skills of students learning using group workshop method with students using the discussion method; (2) differences in the condition above, after the ability of creative thinking covariable is controlled; and (3) the contribution of creative thinking covariable towards the science process skills of students. This experimental research used the post-test only control group design, with the population of 210 students of grade XI SMA Negeri 7 Kota Kupang. The total samples were 140 students, distributed in 2 experimental classes and 2 control classes. The data was collected by observing the science process skills using creative thinking skill test. The data were analyzed in descriptive and inferential statistics using one-way covariance analysis (Anacova). The result indicated that: (1) there was a significant difference of science process skills between the students learning using the group workshop method with students learning using the discussion method with an F value of 50,964; p ≤ 0.05.; (2) Having controlled the student’s creative thinking ability, there was a significant difference between student’s science process skills among students who enrolled in group workshop method with the students enrolled in the discussion method; where F=17.822; p ≤ 0,05. (3) Creative thinking ability contributed to the science process skills with the coefficient of determination equals to r2=(0,430)2 = 0,185 or 18,5%. The results indicate that the application of group workshop methods has positive effect on improving students' science process skills and creative thinking skills.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to produce teaching material of props from scrap materials for system human feasible and practical to be used as a medium of learning in enhancing students' understanding of the concept. The type of research was research and development. ADDIE model used in this reseach contained: 1) Analysis 2) Design 3) Development 4) Implementation and 5) Evaluation. Questionnaire and tests were used as the instruments in data collection. The data analysis in questionnaire forms were statistically using percentage and t test. Pre-test and Post test designed into two groups. Based on the evaluation from the content experts, the value of the material was 82%, 92.85% for instructional media, while instructional design was 87.5%. For the small group the media, it reached up to 84.25%, the field pre-experimment group was 87.89%, while the use of user guide was 87.5%, 85% of instructional media experts, instructional design experts 79.17 %%, the small group bievaluation 84.25%, compared to the experiment group in big number was 86.44%. the result for evaluation of the props materials used were catagorized as excellent. It means t-test for the use of teaching material was equal to 3,586 with sig. of α = 0.005, t = 2.704. The value of t arithmetic less than t table (3.586> 2.704). It was said that the props of scrap materials improved students' understanding of the concept. The indicator for the concepts include memorizing, understanding, and applied to show that there was increasing in the value of the pre-test and post-test the student.

Abstract

This research aims to examine whether there is an influence of self-confidence in students' motivation to achievement in science lesson in elementary schools. This is a field research, where the researchers are involved directly down to the place of research to collect the data relevant to the indicators in the research objectives, which classifies this as a field research with a correlational quantitative approach. Correlational quantitative research is research to determine the level of relations between two or more variables, without making changes, additions, or manipulations of data that already exists. The data analysis techniques was done by observations and questionnaires instruments. Based on the results of analysis with manual calculations, the R Square correlation coefficient is 0.39 or 39% which means that self-confidence affects student motivation for achievement, while the rest is influenced by other variables of 61% that were not examined. This indicates that the variations of confidence with motivation of achievement is 39%. Based on the calculation, the tcount valued 2.898> from ttable, with dk=48, worth 2.011 which means there is an influence of confidence (X) to motivation for achievement (Y). The hypothesis for Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected.

Abstract

Abstract This research is aimed at knowing the influence of using “Maket” media with Inquiry method towards students’ understanding on Biological concepts. The research method used in this research was experimental with One Group Pretest-Postest Design. The population of this study 37 students of grade VII in SMPS Advent Nusra Noelbaki. The sampling technique used in this study was Purposive Sampling; Since the number of population was too small, the writer took them all as sample of this study, as treatment group. From this study, the data obtained by test, it is essay test, then the data were analyzed used t-test analysis. From the data analysis, it was shown that tcount = 6,514 and ttable = 2,056 with the significant level (a) = 0,05. Since the result of tcount = 6,514 ˃ ttable = 2,056, therefore the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and Alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It is conluded that there is an influence on the use of “Maket” media with inquiry method toward students’ understanding on Biology concepts. The teaching and learning process using “Maket” media with Inquiry method made students more active, the teaching and learning is not monotonous and the students are more attractive participate and more understand the material taught. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangankan perangkat instrumen penilaian psikomotor pada mata pelajaran biologi materi sel pokok bahasan struktur jaringan pada tumbuhan sebagai alat yang digunakan untuk mengukur keterampilan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran dan mengetahui tingkat valid dan tingkat kelayakan dari instrumen penilaian psikomotor. Penelitian yang dilakukan merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan model Rowntree, yang terdiri tiga tahap yaitu : tahap perencanaan, tahap pengembangan dan tahap tahap evaluasi, menggunakan teknik evaluasi formatif Tessmer yang terdiri dari 5 tahap, yaitu self evaluation, expert reviuw, one to one evaluation, small group evalution, dan field test. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar validasi ahli dan angket respon pengguna. Berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli dari ke tiga validator diperoleh nilai rata-rata 100% dengan kategori dan tingkat kelayakan dari hasil tanggapan respon pengguna terhadap instrumen penilaian psikomotor masing-masing aspek penilaian yaitu Bahasa 94.66%, Konstruksi 96%, Materi 100%, Objektifitas 95.55%, Sistematis 93.33%, Praktibilitas 95%, dan Pembiayaan 93.33%. Sehingga presentase angket respon pengguna sebesar 95.41% dengan kategori sangat layak tidak perlu revisi. Hasil data tersebut menunjukan bahwa instrumen penilaian psikomotor pada praktikum biologi pokok bahasan struktur jaringan pada tumbuhan yang dikembangkan sudah tergolong valid dan sangat layak digunakan sebagai alat untuk mengukur keterampilan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran di SMA Negeri 7 Kota Kupang.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The main problem in this research was the lack of creative thinking ability of students class VIII SMP Negeri 10 Kupang. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of thinking empowerment models through questions on student’s creative thinking abilities. The method used was an experimental method with a posttest-only control design. The population of all class VIII students wass 327 and the sample of class VIII H and class VIII J was 64 students. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data collection was done by creative thinking tests. The data analysis techniques using t test with the help of SPSS version 19. The results showed that the ability to think creatively in the experimental class was higher, namely fluency of 89,45%, authenticity of 89,06%, detailing 82,03% and flexibility of 77,34% compared to creative thinking in the control class. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, the value of t count>t table / 12,597>1,99897 at the 5% significance level. It showed that there were differences in student’s creative thinking abilities between the experimental using PBMP learning models while the control class used lecture methods so that it can be concluded that there was a significant influence in the use of PBMP learning models on student’s thinking abilities.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil analisis kebutuhan kendala yang dihadapi yakni desain pembelajaran yang kurang menarik, sehingga siswa menjadi jenuh dan kurang aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk berupa booklet berbasis pendekatan saintifik pokok bahasan interaksi makhluk hidup dengan lingkungan yang layak digunakam dakam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan Assure, model ini terdiri dari kina langkah yaitu (a) Analisis siswa (b) Merumuskan tujuan pembelajaran khusus, (c) Memilih media atau paket pembelajaran, (d) Memanfaatkan materi pembelajaran (e) Meminta Respon siswa. Tenik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pembagian kuesioner. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknkk analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan analisis statistik deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian uji vakidasi ahli materi diperoleh 87,5%, Uji ahki desain diperoleh 94,56%, uji ahli media diperoleh 94, 64%, uji kelompok kecil diperoleh 90,51% dan uji kelompok besar diperoleh 90,91%. Sesuai dengan hasil penelitian, jumlah keseluruhan hasi persentase adakah 91,62% dengan kualifikasisangat baik. Persentase penwlitian menunjukan adanya respon positif. Dengan demikian disimpulkan bahwa booklet berbasis pendekatan saintifik pokok bahasan interaksi makhluk hidup dengan lingkungan layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran di SMP Negeri 20 Kota Kulang

Abstract

Permasalahan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 10 Kupang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model PBMP(pemberdayaan berpikir melalui pertanyaan) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.Metode yang digunakan yaitu quasi eksperimentaldengandesainPosttest Only Control Design. Populasiseluruhsiswakelas VIII berjumlah 327 siswa dan Sampel kelas VIIIH dan VIIIJ dengan jumlah 64 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan bantuan rubrik kemampuan berpikir kritis. Data kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa diperoleh dari hasil analisis uji t, dengan bantuan softwere SPSS versi 22. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis diperoleh nilai t 15,492 dengan signifikan 0,000 atau kurang dari 0,5 hal tersebut menunjukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model PBMP terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dmemberi penjelasan sederhana memiliki persentase sebesar 41,09% dan memberi penjelasan lebih lanjut memiliki persentase sebesar 38, eksperimen . Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi yaitu pada indikator memberi penjelasan sederhana memiliki persentase sebesar 43,43%, membangun keterampilan dasar memiliki persentase sebesar 40,52%, menyimpulkan memiliki 95% dibandingkan dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis pada kelas kontrol karena pada proses pembelajaran pada kelas eksperimen mengunakan model PBMP sedangkan pada kelas kontrol hanya menggunakan metode ceramah. Hal ini dapat membuktikan bahwa adanya pengaruh model PBMP (Pemberdayaan Berpikir Malalui Pertanyaan) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa H1 diterima.

Abstract

ABSTRACTResearch is a ethnobotany of medicinal plants in Barene Village, Central Malaka District, Malacca Regency which aims to find out what types of plants are utilized by the people of Barene Village, what plant organs are used in medicine, how to process these plants for traditional medicine and the benefits of medicinal plants. Sampling was conducted in Barene Village, Central Malaka District, Malacca District. This type of research is a descriptive study with a sampling technique approach conducted by purposive sampling. Data collection methods used are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data from the results of subsequent studies were analyzed descriptively qualitatively according to the purpose of the study which would later be presented in the form of tables, photographs or images. The results showed that in Barene Village there were 20 types of plants that were used by the community as traditional medicine. Plant organ parts used in medicine are leaves, leaf buds, roots, bark, rhizomes, leaves and bark. How to process these plants in traditional medicine that is boiled, chewed, eaten, pounded, and soaked. The people of Barene Village use the ingredients more often by boiling and then drinking. The part that is most used by the people of Barene Village as a treatment for the use of leaves. The benefits of traditional medicinal plants are efficacious in curing several types of diseases.Keywords: Ethnobotany, Medicinal Plants, Barene Village Community

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam pada penelitian ini adalah kurangnya hasil belaja afektif siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 11 Kota Kupang.Tujuan penelitian mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran snowball throwing berbantuan alat peraga terhadap hasil belajar afektif siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain Posstest-Only Control Design. Populasi seluruh siswa kelas VIII berjumlah 187 siswa dan sampel kelas VIIIA dan kelas VIIIC berjumlah 56 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah clustersampling (area sampling).Pengumpulan data yang digunakan lembar observasi.Teknik analisis data menggunakan Uji t, dengan bantuan SPSS16. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar afekfif siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi yaitu penerimaan (receiving) 87,71%, penanggapan (responding) 82,42%, dan penilaian 74% dibandingkan dengan hasil belajar afektif siswa pada kelas Kontrol. Adanya pengaruh hasil belajar afektif siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, Karena kelas eksperimen menggunakan model pembelajaran snowball throwing berbantuan alat peraga sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode ceramah. Pada penggunaan model pembelajaran snowball throwing siswa berkerja sama dalam berdiskusi kelompok karena masing-masing siswa di tuntut untuk membuat pertanyaan dan menjawab pertanyaan dalam permainan bola salju atau bola kertas. ABSTRACT The problem in this study is the lack of affective learning outcomes for VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 11 Kota Kupang. The research objective was to determine the effect of the snowball throwing learning model assisted by teaching aids on student affective learning outcomes. The method used is an experimental method with the design Posstest-Only Control Design. The total population of class VIII students was 187 students and the sample of class VIIIA and class VIIIC was 56 students. The sampling technique used was cluster sampling (area sampling). Data collection used observation sheet. The data analysis technique used the t test, with the help of SPSS 16. The results showed that the affective learning outcomes of the experimental class students were higher, namely receiving 87.71%, responding 82.42%, and assessing 74% compared to the results. student affective learning in the control class. There is an influence of the students' affective learning outcomes in the experimental class and the control class, because the experimental class uses the snowball throwing learning model assisted by teaching aids while the control class uses the lecture method. In the use of the snowball throwing learning model, students work together in group discussions because each student is required to make questions and answer questions in snowball or paper ball games.
