Abstract

The Lecturer Program for Assisting Excellent Human Resources (PDPSU) is one of the schemes in the community service activity (PKM)  at the university which was carried out by the FKIP Lecturer Team from the University of Palangka Raya (UPR). This PKM-PDPSU activity was conducted for ten elementary school teachers and five prospective elementary school teachers in Palangkaraya City through coaching clinic activities in the form of training and mentoring in workshops and intensive counseling services in virtual zoom cloud meetings. The aim of this PKM-PDPSU activity is to support the superior human resources of the prospective elementary school teachers in terms of skills in writing scientific papers in the form of PTK and compiling scientific publication articles. The coaching clinic method uses an integrated direct instruction-communication approach, which will be implemented from October 2023 to February 2024. The science and technology provided by the implementation of this PKM-PDPSU activity can improve the professional knowledge and skills of elementary school teachers and prospective teachers in the field of writing scientific papers in the form of PTK. This improvement is achieved through the ability to conduct classroom action research activities and prepare reports, as well as write scientific articles and publish them in scientific journals. This is also proven by the evaluation results of the activities and performance of the participants of the coaching clinic, namely an average of 85.3 with a completion percentage of 100%. This is the conclusion that the PKM-PDPSU activities conducted by the faculty team of FKIP Palangka Raya University in 2023/2024 have been well conducted.

Abstract

Building a literacy culture is crucial after the Covid-19 pandemic. There was a learning crisis or learning loss during the pandemic. One alternative is to bring children closer to access to books through a reading corner. This research aims to create a culture of literacy through optimizing the reading corner at SD Negeri 4 Menteng, Palangka Raya City. The service method starts from preparing needs, carrying out reading corner decorations and socializing the importance of reading corners, then evaluating reading corners. Evaluation using a questionnaire to students regarding responses to the presence of a reading corner. Based on the evaluation results of the reading corner program, it can be concluded that this initiative has had a significant positive impact in building a literacy culture in the school environment. The reading corner program has not only succeeded in providing easy access to reading materials, but also created an atmosphere that supports the development of reading habits among students. This can be seen from the increasing frequency of reading activities, growing awareness of the importance of reading, and the development of literacy discussions between students.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe student learning and teaching activities as well as the improvement of learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by instructional videos in the subject of Pancasila Education. The background of this study was conventional and monotonous classroom practices which lowered students’ motivation and performance. This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using Kurt Lewin’s model in two cycles. The subjects were five third-grade students of SDN 12 Palangka. The results showed an increase in students’ average scores from 67 (pre-test) to 79.5 (cycle I) and 92.5 (cycle II). Classical completeness also increased from 40% to 100%. Both teacher and student activities improved to the “very good” category. Thus, the implementation of the PBL model assisted by video effectively enhanced students’ learning outcomes in Pancasila Education.

Abstract

Pengembangan pengetahuan umum dan khususnya pengetahuan sosial seorang peserta didik dapat dilakukan dengan memperbanyak frekuensi membaca dan juga membiasakan diri dengan belajar yang baik. Peserta didik yang rutin melakukan kegiatan belajar akan mempengaruhi penguasaan dan konsentrasi materi sehingga mampu mengikuti ulangan atau tes dengan lancar yang pada akhirnya mendapatkan nilai yang maksimal. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kebiasaan belajar terhadap hasil nilai ulangan harian mata pelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif yang dialksanakan di SDN-12 Palangka, kota Palangkaraya tahun pelajaran 2024/2025. Sampel penelitiannya adalah siswa kelas IV, V, dan VI yang berjumlah 25 peserta didik. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket serta dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji regresi liner sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh kebiasaan belajar terhadap hasil nilai ulangan harian mata pelajaran matematika  pada siswa kelas IV, V, dan VI di SDN-12 Palangka tahun pelajaran 2024/2025. Hal ini berdasarkan hasil uji kebenaran (regresi linear), dengan diperolehnya thitung sebesar 9,342 dengan nilai sig 0,000< 0,05 dan koefisien determinasi diperoleh angka sebesar 79,1%. Dapat dijelaskan bahwa kebiasaan belajar mempengaruhi peningkatan hasil nilai ulangan harian mata pelajaran matematika sebesar 79,1% dan 20,9% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain yang tidak diteliti pada penelitian ini. Artinya apabila kebiasaan belajar semakin baik maka hasil nilai ulangan harian mata pelajaran matematika juga akan semakin meningkat, sedangkan apabila kebiasaan belajar masih kurang baik maka hasil nilai ulangan harian mata pelajaran matematika akan kurang baik pula.
