Abstract

The Lecturer Program for Assisting Excellent Human Resources (PDPSU) is one of the schemes in the community service activity (PKM)  at the university which was carried out by the FKIP Lecturer Team from the University of Palangka Raya (UPR). This PKM-PDPSU activity was conducted for ten elementary school teachers and five prospective elementary school teachers in Palangkaraya City through coaching clinic activities in the form of training and mentoring in workshops and intensive counseling services in virtual zoom cloud meetings. The aim of this PKM-PDPSU activity is to support the superior human resources of the prospective elementary school teachers in terms of skills in writing scientific papers in the form of PTK and compiling scientific publication articles. The coaching clinic method uses an integrated direct instruction-communication approach, which will be implemented from October 2023 to February 2024. The science and technology provided by the implementation of this PKM-PDPSU activity can improve the professional knowledge and skills of elementary school teachers and prospective teachers in the field of writing scientific papers in the form of PTK. This improvement is achieved through the ability to conduct classroom action research activities and prepare reports, as well as write scientific articles and publish them in scientific journals. This is also proven by the evaluation results of the activities and performance of the participants of the coaching clinic, namely an average of 85.3 with a completion percentage of 100%. This is the conclusion that the PKM-PDPSU activities conducted by the faculty team of FKIP Palangka Raya University in 2023/2024 have been well conducted.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative research using an experimental research type, by testing the differences between groups using the Problem Based Learning learning model, with groups using conventional models. This research design is a non-equivalent control group design, by conducting an initial test before being treated and after being treated to measure students' cognitive abilities. The teaching actors in this study were teachers in the control group and students in the experimental group. The average value of the pre-test experiment was 59.9 and the average control was 58.42 and the average value of the post-test experiment was 82.5 and the average control was 76.84 with the difference in the average pre-test and post-test experiment being 22.6 and the control was 18.42. There was a significant increase in the average pre-test results with the average post-test results. Based on the paired Sample T-Test test, the Sig.2-tailed result was 0.001, this value is smaller than 0.05, so Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. Meanwhile, when comparing the t-count value with the t-table, there is a t-count value of 7,032> 1,682 from the t-table value, so Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the use of the problem based learning model on the learning outcomes of science science material on technology for life in class V SDN 2 Palangka.

Abstract

Kemampuan menulis merupakan salah satu keterampilan dasar berbahasa yang sangat penting dikuasai oleh peserta didik sejak di sekolah dasar. Namun, fakta ditemukan masih banyak peserta didik yang mengalami kesulitan dalam menulis karangan sederhana, baik dari segi pengembangan ide, penyusunan kalimat, maupun penggunaan kosakata yang tepat. Berdasarkan hasil observasi awal di kelas III SDN-6 Menteng, ditemukan sebagian besar peserta didik belum mencapai nilai ketuntasan minimal dalam pembelajaran menulis karangan sederhana. Diperlukan pendekatan pembelajaran yang menarik dan sesuai dengan tahap perkembangan kognitif peserta didik, salah satunya dengan menggunakan media gambar seri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas III di SDN-6 Menteng Palangkaraya pada materi menulis karangan sederhana melalui penggunaan media gambar seri. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 28 peserta didik kelas III. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, tes hasil belajar, dan dokumentasi. Hasil tindakan kelas yang dilakukan tim peneliti menemukan penggunaan media gambar seri dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari pretest sebesar 61,60 dengan ketuntasan klasikal 28,57%, menjadi 67,5 pada siklus I (ketuntasan 42,86%), dan meningkat signifikan pada siklus II dengan nilai rata-rata 85,18 serta ketuntasan klasikal 96,42%. Aktivitas guru dan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran juga mengalami peningkatan dari kategori cukup menjadi sangat baik. Dengan demikian, penerapan media gambar seri terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karangan sederhana pada peserta didik di kelas III SD.

Abstract

Education aims to optimally develop the human potential possessed by individuals. The art of " karungut" is a traditional art form of the Dayak Ngaju, through vocal performance. This research to analyze and describe the content of the "karungut" that can be utilized to strengthen the socio-emotional education of students in Palangka Raya. The research method used is qualitative with a case study. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The respondents of the research consisted of 3 “karungut” artists, 6 elementary school teachers, and 10 students. The data analysis used was the interactive analysis. The results showed that “karungut” contains the following aspects: (1) self-awareness skills (10%), (2) emotion management skills (20%), (3) empathy skills (20%), (4) relationship management skills (40%), and (5) responsible decision-making skills (10%). In conclusion, "karungut" is a part of the local culture of the Dayak  that can be utilized to strengthen socio-emotional education.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the principal's subjective experience in internalizing Handep values which include harmony, adaptation, reason, dedication, efficiency and unity based on the Huma Betang philosophy of the Dayak people in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. The philosophy of Huma Betang, as a symbol of longhouses symbolizing communal living, mutual assistance and social balance. Using an interpretive phenomenology approach, this research was carried out at SD Negeri 2 Palangka. Data were collected through semi-structural in-depth interviews recorded and transcribed, supplemented by participant observation in the school environment. Data analysis was carried out thematically with source triangulation to ensure validity. The findings reveal that the experience of internalizing Handep not only enriches leadership identity, but also creates an inclusive school climate. Recommendations include the integration of the Huma Betang philosophy in the national leadership curriculum to support continuing education.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine " The Principal's Strategy Based on the Noble Values of the Huma Betang Philosophy in Improving Teacher Performance at Palangka 2 Public Elementary School ". The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The research subjects were the principal, vice principal, teachers, and supervisors. The results show: 1) The principal's strategy in improving teacher abilities is based on the Huma Betang philosophy through developing teacher abilities in the learning process, 2) The principal's strategy in improving teacher discipline is: a) Enforcing teacher discipline, b) Increasing teacher behavior standards, c) Implementing all regulations, 3) The principal's strategy in improving teacher motivation is to create a harmonious situation, provide all necessary equipment and provide rewards and punishments, 4) The principal's strategy in increasing teacher commitment is: holding training, bringing tutors to the school and providing opportunities for continuing education, placing teachers according to their fields, and holding meetings at the beginning of each semester.
