Abstract

This research focuses on President Joko Widodo's use of the word "KAGET" in political discourse during the period 2014 to 2024. The use of this word often appears in response to various unexpected events and has become an important part of building Jokowi's leadership image. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the word "KAGET" is used as a political communication strategy. The method used is Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) based on Norman Fairclough's model, which includes text analysis, discursive practices, and social practices. Data were taken from various media that reported Jokowi's statements in different contexts. The results show that the word "KAGET" plays a role in building Jokowi's image as a leader who is adaptive, honest, and close to the people. However, in some cases, this word is also criticized as a sign of unpreparedness. In conclusion, Jokowi's use of the word "KAGET" strengthens emotional connections with the people, manages public expectations, and provides political flexibility in responding to crises.

Abstract

Abstract

The empty box phenomenon in the 2024 simultaneous regional elections is a representation of public dissatisfaction with the quality of candidates and political processes that characterize the local area. This study aims to explore the subjective experiences of voters who will vote for an empty box and the meaning behind their choice. This research uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods to find out the perceptions, motivations, and expectations of voters in areas with a single candidate. Interviews were conducted online with eleven (11) participants selected by purposive sampling with varied age, education, and economic backgrounds using Google Form application with ten (10) structured questions. The results of the study explain the main themes that emerged from the results of thematic analysis include distrust in the quality of candidates, blank votes as a form of protest against the political system, hope for fairer and more transparent elections, and finally social influence in making choices. The findings therefore suggest that this was a kind of protest, not only against one of the candidates, but also an expression of dissatisfaction with the dominance of the local ruling elite. Voters hope that this phenomenon can encourage changes to a more representative electoral system in the future.

Abstract

This research explores the role of political memes in building the image and influencing public perception of the candidate pair Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka during the 2024 presidential election campaign. Using the symbolic interaction theory approach and qualitative content analysis, this study analyzed the visual and verbal symbols in memes circulating on social media such as TikTok, Twitter (X), and Instagram. The results show that political memes not only serve as a means of entertainment, but also become an effective communication tool in conveying complex political messages in a way that is easily accepted by the audience. Memes depicting Prabowo as a strong and decisive leader and Gibran as a young innovator create a narrative that reinforces their image as a representation of a blend of experience and innovation. In addition, memes also play a role in increasing political participation among young voters through humor and emotional engagement. This research concludes that political memes play an important role in political contestation in the digital age, facilitating social interaction and shaping political narratives that have a significant impact on public perception and participation.

Abstract

Digital transformation in education has driven the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) as a key element in personalising learning, managing educational institutions, and supporting pedagogical decision-making processes. However, the application of AI also raises ethical challenges, access gaps, and fundamental changes in the role of teachers. This research aims to identify and classify the primary dimensions of human-AI collaboration in education through a qualitative approach, utilising a systematic literature review of 50 scientific articles published over the last five years. The articles were selected based on their thematic relevance from the Google Scholar and Scopus databases and analysed using NVivo software to cluster the dominant codes in the literature. The analysis resulted in four main components: Adaptive Learning with Artificial Intelligence (ALEAI), Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED), Ethical Challenges in AI Education (EAIED), and Teacher Roles in AI-assisted learning (TRAIL). The findings indicate that AI has significant potential to enhance the efficiency and inclusivity of learning but also necessitates robust regulations in data protection, algorithm bias mitigation, and teacher training. This research contributes to the formulation of a conceptual framework for developing fair, ethical, and sustainable AI-based education policies.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly becoming the main driver of digital transformation in various sectors such as education, health, and finance. However, this development raises regulatory challenges, particularly regarding privacy protection, algorithm transparency, and AI usage ethics. Indonesia, with a high level of technology adoption but without a specific legal framework, faces the risk of misuse of this technology. This study uses a literature review and a comparative policy analysis approach to examine AI regulations in the European Union, the United States, and Singapore. The results of the analysis show that the European Union emphasizes data protection and strict supervision, the United States promotes flexibility for innovation, while Singapore offers a balance between social responsibility and technological progress. Based on these findings, this article recommends developing an AI regulatory framework in Indonesia by combining the principles of a risk-based approach, transparency, and algorithmic auditing, as well as the establishment of an independent AI regulatory agency. This regulation is expected to encourage innovation that is safe, ethical, and adaptive to technological dynamics.
