Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah : 1). Mengetahui perbandingan campuran tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKS): Limbah Cair PKS (LCPKS) dan EM4 yang tepat dan dapat mempercepat dekomposisi TKS dalam pembuatan kompos, 2). Mengetahui kandungan N,P,K, dan C/N yang dihasilkan dari selama fermentasi pada pembuatan kompos. Penelitian dilaksanakan dengan RAL non factorial dengan factor tunggal campuran TKS: LCPKS dan EM4.Setiap kombinasi perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Data diolah dengan menggunakan statistik dengan uji Analysis of variance (ANOVA) dengan uji lanjut DMRT pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kadar Nitrogen (N), Fosfor (P), Kalium (K), rasio C/N dan kadar air berpengaruh tidak nyata dan belum sesuai dengan SNI Perlakuan yang terbaik terdapat pada C3.

Abstract

Acceleration of processing for fresh fruit bunches (FFB) is crucial to increase profitability and business opportunities for oil palm farmers. This research aims to evaluate the effect of using gamal (Gliricidia sepium) leaves and the duration of ripening on the percentage of FFB processing as well as the quality of crude palm oil. This study employed a factorial completely randomized design (CRD). The data were analyzed using ANOVA with Duncan’s Multiple Range Test at a significance level of 5%. The results of the analysis showed that the best treatment was S3T2 (40% gamal leaves, 20 h of ripening) with a natural processing percentage of 45.87% of the FFB weight and 60.34% of the total bunch weight. The use of gamal leaves and the duration of ripening significantly affected the quality parameters of the oil, especially the free fatty acid content. Treatment S1T1 (20% gamal leaves, 10 h of ripening) showed the best results with a free fatty acid value of 1.30%, meeting the quality standard (<5%). However, the moisture content still exceeded the quality standard (<0.5%), although treatment S3T2 yielded the best result at 0.63%. While, the impurity content quality met the quality standard (<0.5%), with the best value achieved by treatment S1T1 at 0.15%. Keywords: Bunch detachment, CPO quality, Ethylene, Gliricidia sepium, Ripening.

Abstract

A thresher is a crucial unit in a palm oil mill that separates loose fruit from fresh fruit bunches (FFB). Its performance is significantly influenced by the availability of mechanical energy transmitted from a three-phase electric motor through a V-belt system. This study aims to analyze the mechanical energy requirements of a thresher under varying FFB loads and electrical parameters. The research method employed field observation, current and voltage measurements, and energy consumption calculations. The results indicate that the greater the FFB load processed, the higher the motor's electrical current requirements. The maximum current was 49.84 A at 380 V, with a motor power of 20 kW. The highest load the machine can handle is 3,324 kg, with a kinetic energy requirement of 72,000 kJ. Analysis of the current-load relationship shows a linear pattern, confirming a direct relationship between increasing mechanical capacity and electrical energy consumption. These findings emphasize that matching electrical power to mechanical load capacity is crucial to prevent energy inefficiency and machine damage from overload. This research contributes to efforts to optimize energy consumption in palm oil mills by regulating input load, maintaining the V-belt transmission system, and implementing more efficient motor control technology.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh data komposisi fraksi-fraksi pada cairan screw press dan kadar minyak dan non minyak pada ampas screw press. Metode yang digunakan adalah penambahan air panas delusi pada screw press dengan temperature 85oC, 90oC, 95oC dengan debit 1,8 ton/jam. Parameter yang dimati adalah fraksi dan kadar minyak, emulsi, air dan NOS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi temperature air delusi maka semakin besar fraksi minyak pada cairan dan berbanding terbalik dengan kadar minyak pada cake (fiber) yang semakin rendah. Semakin tinggi temperatur air delusi maka semakin rendah fraksi NOS pada cairan dan fiber. Fraksi minyak tertinggi pada cairan press terdapat pada air delusi 95oC (58,00%) dan terendah pada cairan hasil air delusi 85 oC (37,67%).
