Abstract

Power relations in the use of language on social media can give rise to language deviation in the form of hate speech or cyberbulling. This research aims to explain how impolite strategies in the form of cyberbullying speech in Indonesian on social media have the potential to violate the Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law. This research uses a content analysis method. The researchers utilized a scrutinizing approach through the Scrutinize, Be Free, Get Involved, Talk (Simak Bebas Libat Cakap/SBLC) technique as a basic stage and a note-taking technique was applied as an advanced technique. This research data is in the form of fragments of netizen comments and captions on Ayu Ting-Ting's haters account on Instagram which contains cyberbullying hate speech conveyed by netizens on Instagram. The research results show that there are two types of impoliteness strategy, namely positive impoliteness and negative impoliteness. Positive impoliteness was found in nineteen comments with a percentage of 38%, while negative impoliteness was found the most with thirty-one comments with a percentage of 62%. Negative impoliteness strategy is higher because there are many characteristics of negative impoliteness strategy, including attacking or threating negative face of the interlocutor, impoliteness by scaring the interlocutor, impoliteness by ridiculing or mocking, impoliteness by warning the interlocutor. The conclusion of this research is that more negative impoliteness strategy is used when using Indonesian on social media. This tendency is the cause of the increasingly widespread cyberbullying that occurs in the use of social media today.

Abstract

The determinants of adolescents' prosocial behavior prioritize the welfare of others. In this context, cooperation (gotong royong), as a reflection of prosocial behavior, is a core cultural value and part of Indonesian identity. This research aims to examine the role of empathy in mediating the relationship between peer social support and democratic parenting styles with adolescents' prosocial behavior. A quantitative survey was conducted using several instruments, namely Scenario-Based Prosocial Intention Questionnaire (SBPIQ), Empathy Scale, Parental Democratic Parenting Scale, and Peer Social Support Scale. This research included 621 adolescents aged 12–18 years in Semarang, selected through convenience sampling. Data were analyzed using CB-SEM with Mplus software version 8.3. The results showed that democratic parenting styles, peer social support, and empathy significantly influenced prosocial behavior. Furthermore, empathy played a mediating role in the relationship between parenting styles and peer support with adolescents' prosocial behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of short story writing learning using Storywheel and Digital Diary media and to see the improvement in student learning outcomes after the application of both media. The study used a quantitative method with a quasi experiment design, with analysis in the form of normality tests, homogeneity tests, paired sample t-tests, independent sample t-tests, and N-Gain calculations. The results of the N-Gain calculation show that Storywheel media obtained an average score of 0.55 with an N-Gain percent of 55.06%, which is included in the moderate category; while Digital Diary obtained an average score of 0.55 with an N-Gain percent of 54.80%, also in the moderate category towards less effective. The results of the paired sample t-test in both classes showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores, while the independent sample t-test showed that there was no significant difference in effectiveness between the use of the two media. Overall, this study concludes that Storywheel and Digital Diary are able to improve students' short story writing skills at a moderate level, although their effectiveness has not yet reached the high category. Abstract

Purpose: In the era of increasingly competitive globalization, entrepreneurship is not only an alternative career option but also a strategic solution in reducing unemployment among graduates. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing students' sharia entrepreneurial intentions in the Kudus and Jepara Regencies. Methodology: This study used Path analysis and was conducted with PLS. The sample of this study was 200 students in Kudus and Jepara. Result: Analysis at Kudus shows that only supportive environmental variables significantly affect students' entrepreneurial intentions. Meanwhile, in Jepara, cultural values, a supportive environment, and belief in Islamic values significantly affect business potential. Education, beliefs, and business awareness also positively affect students' Islamic entrepreneurial intentions and development. Overall, the variables in the Kudus model explain 51.8% of the variation in Islamic entrepreneurial intentions, whereas the Jepara model explains 61.1%. Conclusion: Results of this study contribute to the development of an Islamic value-based entrepreneurial intention model through awareness of Islamic business potential as a mediating variable. The factors that form awareness of the potential of Islamic entrepreneurship are more dominant in Jepara. Implications: The research can inform educational institutions and governments in developing programs and policies. However, this study has limitations in describing the change in Islamic entrepreneurial intentions. Follow-up research is recommended using a longitudinal design and expanding area coverage. Originality:This study integrates the variable of Islamic business potential awareness as a mediator between factors that affect Islamic entrepreneurial intentions. Enriching the application of planned behavior theory to Islamic entrepreneurship.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of synectics learning model and concept mapping model integrated with the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in improving students’ short story writing skills. The background of this study is the low ability of students in generating ideas, developing plots, and organizing narrative structures. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group design. The sample consisted of 63 eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Semarang, divided into two groups: the synectics class (31 students) and the concept mapping class (32 students). Data were collected through pretest and posttest of short story writing and analyzed using descriptive statistics, N-Gain, and independent sample t-test. The results showed that both learning models improved students’ writing skills, as indicated by the increase in mean scores from pretest to posttest. The N-Gain score of the concept mapping class (32.80) was higher than that of the synectics class (20.55), although both were categorized as less effective. The hypothesis testing result showed no significant difference between the two models (Sig. = 0.976 > 0.05), indicating that both models have relatively equal effectiveness. Therefore, it can be concluded that synectics and concept mapping models supported by AI have the potential to improve short story writing skills, but their effectiveness is not significantly different.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of utilizing literary works as a learning medium that not only develops students’ literary appreciation skills but also instills social values in them. In the practice of literature education in schools, teaching materials tend to be limited to textbooks, thus failing to present contextual social realities to students. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the social values in the collection of short stories from the January–June 2025 edition of Solopos and their suitability as teaching materials in prose appreciation education. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method using content analysis. Data were collected through literature review, reading, and note-taking of 21 short stories as primary data sources. The research findings reveal 21 diverse categories of social values, including empathy, compassion, solidarity, ethics, loyalty, justice, social inequality, criticism of money politics, and social media ethics. Based on the criteria for selecting teaching materials according to Rahmanto (1988), this collection of short stories is deemed suitable for use in high school literature education. These criteria are met through three main aspects: (1) a communicative language aspect appropriate to students’ reading levels; (2) a psychological aspect relevant to students’ developmental stages; and (3) a sociocultural background aspect that contextually represents societal realities. This study provides a variety of alternative teaching materials to address reliance on textbooks while fostering students’ character and empathy toward the dynamics of community life in the digital age.
