Abstract

This study aims to analyze the ability to use capital letters of grade 4 students at SD 1 Megawon by using learning videos. This research uses descriptive quantitative methods with data collection techniques using tests. The population in this study were students at SD 1 Megawon while the sample in this study were 4th grade students of SD Megawon, consisting of 17 students, The data collection technique was using a test instrument. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the average score of students' capitalization skills was 7.29 with a range of 4. Normality test shows that the data is normally distributed. The frequency distribution analysis per indicator showed that the indicators that were answered correctly the most by students were the beginning of sentences and names of people, while the indicators that were still difficult for students to master were the names of months and ethnic groups. Descriptive statistical analysis of exploration showed that the ability of female students was superior compared to male students in writing names of people, geographical names, and names of months.

Abstract

This research aims to enhance students' understanding of bar chart material by utilizing innovative learning media, specifically Pakudiba (Bar Chart Cube Board), implemented through the Indonesian Realistic Mathematics Education (PMRI) approach in the fourth grade at SDN Demangan. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the Pakudiba media effectively improves students' concentration, active participation, and comprehension of bar chart concepts. The PMRI approach also proves effective in helping students connect mathematical concepts to real-life situations, making learning more meaningful. Challenges encountered include differences in students' abilities, the need for additional time, and the costs associated with providing the tools. Overall, the Pakudiba media has been shown to be effective in enhancing the quality of mathematics education, particularly in presenting data using bar charts.

Abstract

This study aims to develop educational media in the form of a MUSI (Multifunctional) board to improve students' understanding of the material of the Least Common Multiple (KPK) and Greatest Common Factor (FPB) in grade V elementary school. This research used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate). The research subjects were fifth grade students of SD 2 Demaan, and involved material experts and media experts for validation. The research instruments included expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis used qualitative and quantitative approaches with a Likert scale. The validation results from material experts and media experts showed the level of media feasibility of 91% and 92% respectively with the category “very feasible”. The trial of students also showed a positive response with a feasibility score of 92%. The MUSI board media is designed in an interesting and interactive way to support students' active involvement in learning. The results showed that the use of this media can improve students' understanding of the concepts of KPK and FPB, as well as provide a fun and meaningful learning experience. Thus, the MUSI board media is recommended as an effective alternative mathematics learning media for use in elementary schools. The implication of this research shows that the MUSI Board media can improve the understanding of the KPK and FPB concepts through fun and interactive learning. This success opens up opportunities for the application of similar media in other mathematics materials to support a more effective learning process in elementary schools.
