Abstract

A narrative text with several grammatical and linguistic aspects is one of the texts learned in senior high school. In fact, according to the researcher's prior observation, students faced numerous challenges when attempting to write it, especially grammatical mistakes in using language features. This study aims to detect grammatical errors in the utilization of language elements in narrative texts produced by students, as well as to determine the underlying reasons contributing to these errors. The recent research employed a descriptive qualitative methodology. Eight of the eleventh-grade students studying Online Business and Marketing major in SMK Negeri 1 Kota Sorong have been selected as the participants in this research. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation which restricted social interactions, only those students than could be reached out to gather data. The data was derived from a writing exam and a semi-structured interview. Upon analyzing the student's writing, it was discovered that they made errors in utilizing the simple past tense and action verbs. Simultaneously, the interview data indicated that the causes contributing to grammatical errors in using language features in this study were limitations, lack of attention, and carelessness. This research finding implied that the teacher must identify the most effective technique to engage the student's attention and enable them to concentrate on acquiring language skills for future use in creating narrative texts.

Abstract

Rumah Pintar Kampung Kokoda is a community empowerment facility focused on education. Rumah Pintar is located in Kokoda Village, with active Participant mostly aged 9-15 years old, equivalent to grade 3 elementary school (SD) up to grade 9 junior high school (SMP). The main focus of this service is to introduce English vocabulary using spelling, including alphabet pronunciation. The researchers involved 10 students participating from grade 3 SD to grade 9 SMP who attend learning activities at Rumah Pintar Kampung Kokoda as beneficiaries of the guidance. In response to the students' limited knowledge of spelling and vocabulary in English, the author provided a solution using picture media as a form of introducing material on spelling vocabulary in English, and also the strategy used in this activity is a play-based learning method. In this program, it is expected that the students will show significant improvement by the end of the activity; the students can more easily understand and comprehend the material provided during the activity. In this activity, students began to show more significant progress in receiving the material provided, as seen from the post-test results given. Participants on average reached level 3

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in shaping the character and quality of future generations. As the world advances with the challenges of globalization and technological development, educational leadership faces increasingly complex dynamics. One of the key aspects is the integration of spiritual values in educational leadership to create a generation that is not only intellectually intelligent but also morally upright and strong in character. This study aims to comprehensively explore the importance of integrating spiritual values in educational leadership to develop a responsible and character-driven future generation. By incorporating spiritual values, the educational system is designed not only to focus on academic achievement but also on moral and ethical development. This research employs a qualitative approach with a literature study by analyzing and selecting relevant sources, such as articles, books, and research reports, related to the integration of spiritual values in leadership. The findings indicate that spiritually-based educational leadership can serve as a strategic solution to global challenges, producing a generation that excels academically while also possessing strong emotional and moral maturity. Therefore, the integration of spiritual values in educational leadership should be continuously developed to contribute to building a future generation with strong character and integrity
