Abstract

Medicine measuring spoon is one of the measuring tools used to obtain the appropriate dose when taking medicine in liquid form so that it is effective against disease. Patient treatment compliance with the use of measuring spoons is very important for the patient's recovery in treatment. This study aims to determine the level of compliance of outpatients with the use of measuring spoons. Sampling in this study was conducted using purposive sampling method. Measurement of the level of compliance was carried out using the MMAS-8 (Eight Item Modified Morisky Adherence Scale) questionnaire by collecting data on 66 respondents. The results of this study indicate that patients with a low level of compliance with a percentage of 62.1%, a moderate level of compliance with a percentage of 24.2%, and high compliance with a percentage of 13.6%. It can be concluded that the level of compliance of outpatients with the use of measuring spoons of medicine at the Integrated Management of Sick Toddlers (IMCI) Poli UPTD Puskesmas Meureubo West Aceh Regency is in the low category.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a disease characterized by an increase in blood glucose levels. According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), Indonesia ranks 7th with 8.5 million diabetes mellitus sufferers. The use of plants as traditional medicine for various diseases has been widely used, traditional medicine from natural ingredients has become an alternative treatment, one of which is diabetes. This research aims to determine the public's perception of the use of traditional medicines for anti-diabetes in Kuta Cot Glie District, Aceh Besar Regency. This research is descriptive quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique used is a purposive sampling technique, namely a sampling technique with certain considerations. The results of data analysis showed that the public's perception of the use of traditional medicines for anti-diabetes was mostly in the good category, 26 people (86.7%) and the most people used traditional medicines for anti-diabetes, namely 14 people (46.7%). So it can be concluded that the public's perception of the use of traditional medicine for anti-diabetes in Kuta Cot Glie District is in the good category.

Abstract

Kombucha adalah salah satu olahan hasil fermentasi gula dan teh dengan campuran starter kultur kombucha yang disebut SCOBY (Symbiotic Cultures of Bacteria and Yeasts). Fermentasi teh kombucha dilakukan menggunakan mikroorganisme dari kelompok khamir dan bakteri. Kultur simbiosis bakteri asam asetat (Acetobacter xylinum, Acetobacter aceti), bakteri asam laktat (Lactobacillus, Lactococcus), Saccharomyces ludwigii, Saccharomyces bisporus, Zygosaccharomyces sp dan beberapa jenis khamir (Torolupsis sp). Bakteri dan khamir tersebut dapat menghambat kontaminasi mikroorganisme. Teh kombucha kunyit merupakan salah satu minuman kesehatan, seperti diketahui bahwa kunyit mengandung kurkumin yang berfungsi sebagai antioksidan. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat teh kombucha dengan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak kunyit dan uji aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode DPPH (2,2-diphenil-1picrylhidrazyl). Tahapan metode yang akan dilakukan adalah pertama disiapkan kunyit batang yang telah dicuci dan dibersihkan kulitnya 150 gr, diblender dan direbus hingga mendidih selama 10 menit dengan api kecil. Setelah dingin disaring  ampasnya dan dimasukkan ke dalam wadah dan ditambahkan gula aren sebanyak 50 gram untuk masing-masing varian. Dimasukkan starter kombucha 10% dan SCOBY dan didiamkan selama 7 hari, diuji antioksidan masing-masing. Dari hasil penelitian ini diperoleh nilai IC50 pada sampel K1 sejumlah 6,981 ppm, pada sampel K2 sejumlah 10,689 ppm sedangkan pada sampel K3 sejumlah 8,423 ppm. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan nilai IC50 ketiga sampel adalah sangat kuat dalam menghambat  radikal bebas.
