Abstract

The Angger Farmer Group in Magelang, Central Java, specializes in oyster mushroom cultivation, boasting strengths like four mushroom production locations, easily accessible growing media, and the ability to cultivate mushrooms in mountainous areas. Despite this, a decline in mushroom production is observed due to a shortage of manpower for baglog production. The group derives income not just from mushrooms but also from the 8-hour process of producing 100 baglogs. Precision is crucial in the baglog pressing process, where inconsistent pressure can lead to plastic breakage, necessitating redoing tasks and increasing production costs. To address these challenges and enhance economic self-sufficiency, the outreach aims to disseminate baglog pressing machines, improving farmer group productivity and fostering economic independence. Management-wise, machine operation training sessions was be conducted. The initiative's outcomes include the dissemination of baglog pressing technology and improved farmer skills in utilizing the technology, resulting in increased baglog production.

Abstract

The airlift pump is a device used to lift a mixture of liquid and solid particles through a vertical pipe and is capable of continuous operation. This device serves as a cost-effective solution for water lifting applications and is resistant to solid particles that may otherwise damage conventional pump components. This study aims to evaluate the performance of a two-phase airlift pump based on variations in submergence ratio and injected air flow rate. The main focus is to examine the effects of these parameters on water discharge, the resulting flow patterns, efficiency, and effectiveness of the airlift pump. Experiments were conducted using submergence ratios of h, h, and h, and air flow rates of 30 lpm, 40 lpm, 50 lpm, and 60 lpm. The test results show that increasing the submergence ratio and air flow rate leads to an increase in water discharge and efficiency up to a certain point, after which both values begin to decline. The highest efficiency and effectiveness were recorded at an air flow rate of 40 lpm with a submergence ratio of h, yielding an efficiency of 3.34% and an effectiveness of 888.60. However, once the pump reaches its peak performance, further increases in air flow rate lead to a decrease in overall performance. The observed flow patterns include bubbly, slug, and churn flow. The bubbly flow pattern typically appears at the tail end of slug flow. The results also indicate that higher submergence ratios and air flow rates produce higher water discharge, greater efficiency, and improved effectiveness of the airlift pump.

Abstract

Abstract: This community engagement project seeks to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processed product development by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Kalirejo Village, Magelang Regency. The village is home to various MSMEs producing household food items such as grubi, slondok, etawa goat milk, honey, and other culinary goods. The predominant issues faced by these MSMEs include limited promotional outreach, inadequate marketing strategies, weak branding, and inefficient packaging and distribution systems, all of which hinder community income. Utilizing a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the program provides intensive guidance to MSME actors in enhancing product development, branding, packaging, and digital marketing. The program also supports MSMEs in obtaining legal business documentation, including Business Identification Numbers (NIB), Trade Business Permits (SIUP), and Halal Certification from MUI. The anticipated outcomes include improved product quality and diversity, increased marketing efficiency, broader customer reach through social media, and a higher number of MSMEs with official business permits. Abstrak: Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas serta efisiensi pengolahan produk Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di Desa Kalirejo, Kabupaten Magelang. UMKM di wilayah ini memproduksi beragam makanan rumahan seperti grubi, slondok, susu kambing etawa, madu, dan aneka pangan lainnya. Kendala utama yang dihadapi para pelaku usaha adalah kurang optimalnya promosi, strategi pemasaran yang belum efektif, lemahnya branding, serta kemasan dan distribusi yang belum memadai, yang berdampak pada pendapatan masyarakat. Melalui pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR) meliputi perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan evaluasi, kegiatan ini memberikan pendampingan intensif dalam aspek pengolahan produk, desain kemasan, branding, serta pemasaran berbasis digital. Selain itu, program ini juga mendukung pengurusan legalitas usaha seperti Nomor Induk Berusaha (NIB), Surat Izin Usaha Perdagangan (SIUP), dan Sertifikat Halal dari MUI. Hasil yang diharapkan adalah peningkatan kualitas produk, jangkauan pemasaran yang lebih luas melalui media sosial, serta bertambahnya jumlah UMKM yang memiliki legalitas resmi. Abstract

Kereta Argo Lawu New Generation adalah salah satu layanan transportasi kereta api yang dioperasikan oleh PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) untuk rute Solo Balapan - Gambir. Kenyamanan termal penumpang menjadi aspek penting dalam layanan ini, mengingat fluktuasi suhu eksternal yang signifikan. Sistem pendingin udara (AC) pada kereta harus mampu menjaga suhu yang nyaman selama perjalanan. Namun, perhitungan beban pendinginan yang akurat diperlukan untuk memastikan kapasitas sistem pendingin sesuai dengan kebutuhan termal dalam gerbong. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Cooling Load Temperature Difference (CLTD) untuk menganalisis kebutuhan beban pendinginan pada Kereta Argo Lawu New Generation. Perhitungan dilakukan dengan mempertimbangkan faktor eksternal (radiasi matahari, suhu lingkungan) serta faktor internal (jumlah penumpang, peralatan elektronik, dan pencahayaan). Data yang dikumpulkan meliputi spesifikasi material gerbong, kapasitas pendinginan AC, serta parameter lingkungan seperti suhu dan kelembapan. Hasil perhitungan menunjukkan bahwa total beban pendinginan yang diperlukan adalah 37814,93 kkal/jam, sementara kapasitas AC yang tersedia sebesar 40000 kkal/jam. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa sistem pendingin yang terpasang masih mampu menjaga suhu dalam batas kenyamanan termal. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa metode CLTD dapat digunakan secara efektif dalam perhitungan beban pendinginan kereta api dan dapat dijadikan acuan dalam perancangan sistem pendingin transportasi massal lainnya.
