Abstract

This research analyzes Development Communication in the case of the construction of the Jatigede Reservoir regarding the Supremacy of Law in the Perspective of Sustainable Development Goals Number 16. The research method used is a literature review technique with a normative juridical approach. The research results show that in the Jatigede Reservoir construction case there were legal disagreements and imbalances between the majority of the local community and the government under the pretext of national development which resulted in legal coverage. This second case shows that the failure to achieve the rule of law for affected victims also maintains the importance of the role of development communication in order to support community awareness and empowerment.

Abstract

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has an important role in supervising and regulating financial institutions in Indonesia. As an independent institution established based on Law Number 21 of 2011, OJK is tasked with maintaining financial system stability, protecting consumers, and encouraging transparency in the financial sector. OJK's main functions include supervision of banking, capital markets and the non-bank financial industry (IKNB) such as insurance and pension funds. Supervision carried out by OJK includes aspects of licensing, regulations and law enforcement, as well as monitoring good governance practices. In carrying out its functions, OJK faces challenges such as the complexity of financial products and systemic risks which can have a broad impact on the economy. The OJK's role is increasingly significant amidst the rapid development of financial technology, so innovation in regulations is needed to maintain a balance between industrial development and consumer protection. This abstract discusses the role faced by the OJK in supervising and regulating financial institutions in Indonesia.

Abstract

The role of interviews in talk shows as a medium for shaping public awareness of civic values is an effective way to convey values from various aspects and experiences of the interviewees with the talk show host through casual conversation, but still within the scope of the discussion. The study employed a qualitative method with a content analysis approach on various talk show episodes covering social, legal, educational, and cultural themes. Data collection was conducted using the observation-recording method from a total of 33 talk show episodes across 11 national television programs and digital platforms. The research results indicate that talk shows have strong educational potential in conveying moral messages, national values, and encouraging active community participation in national and state life. The civic values that emerge in the programs include: integrity, justice, equality, inclusivity, environmental awareness, legal compliance, and social participation. The inclusive representation of sources reflects the diversity and involvement of various elements of society in building civic values. The findings and recommendations discussed in this article emphasize the importance of monitoring and developing the quality of talk show content as an effective non-formal civic education tool.
