Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to explore the application of technology in career guidance services and its impact on high school students' career maturity through a literature study. Information was collected from various research databases such as ScienceDirect, PubMed, and Google Scholar using appropriate keywords. Qualitative methods are used, with a focus on collecting descriptive data to understand the individual as a whole. The results show that the application of technology, such as the internet and computer-based systems, has the potential to increase students' career maturity through wider access to career information and a more interactive and flexible guidance approach. Digital platforms also allow students to get more accurate information regarding career choices and developments in the world of work. However, research also identifies challenges such as technology infrastructure gaps in various schools and a lack of digital skills among guidance and counseling teachers and counselors that hinder technology optimization. In conclusion, the application of technology in career guidance can strengthen these services and support increasing student career maturity if accompanied by effective preparation, training and collaboration from various related parties.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis  penerapan teknologi informasi dalam layanan bimbingan karir serta dampaknya terhadap kematangan karir siswa SMA melalui studi literatur. Informasi dikumpulkan dari berbagai basis data penelitian seperti ScienceDirect, PubMed, dan Google Scholar dengan menggunakan kata kunci yang sesuai. Metode kualitatif digunakan, dengan fokus pada pengumpulan data deskriptif untuk memahami individu secara menyeluruh. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penerapan teknologi, seperti internet dan sistem berbasis komputer, memiliki potensi untuk meningkatkan kematangan karir siswa melalui akses informasi karir yang lebih luas serta pendekatan bimbingan yang lebih interaktif dan fleksibel. Platform digital juga memungkinkan siswa mendapatkan informasi yang lebih akurat terkait pilihan karir dan perkembangan dunia kerja. Namun, penelitian juga mengidentifikasi tantangan seperti kesenjangan infrastruktur teknologi di berbagai sekolah dan kurangnya keterampilan digital di kalangan guru BK dan konselor yang menghambat optimalisasi teknologi. Kesimpulannya, penerapan teknologi dalam bimbingan karir dapat memperkuat layanan tersebut dan mendukung peningkatan kematangan karir siswa jika disertai persiapan, pelatihan, dan kolaborasi yang efektif dari berbagai pihak terkait.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of group counseling services using motivational interviewing (MI) techniques in increasing student learning motivation at the Mawaridussalam Islamic boarding school. This research uses a quantitative approach with pre-experimental methods. This research uses a one group pretest-posttest design (One Group Pretest-Posttest). Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistical methods. The subjects of this research were 8 students who were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Research data was collected using a learning motivation scale. The results of the Hypothesis Test analysis (t test) show a Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.001<0.05. It can be concluded that there is a significant difference in students' learning motivation before and after being given treatment in the form of group counseling services using motivational interviewing (MI) techniques. Because the t-test value of P<0.05 is (0.001<05), the findings show that the use of group counseling services with motivational interviewing (MI) techniques in increasing students' learning motivation has a significant effect.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Natural disasters not only cause physical damage but also lead to significant psychological disorders in the affected post-disaster victims. This article aims to describe the role of professional counselors in intervening in post-disaster psychology through Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach information services in helping to manage stress to residents of Jorong Nagari Bukik Batabuah, Agam Regency, West Sumatra. The method used is descriptive qualitative, using a case study approach to describe a problem in detail in a factual context. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation during service delivery. The intervention focused on providing information services using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach regarding post-disaster stress, recognition of stress symptoms, and training in breathing relaxation techniques. The results showed that the community gained a better understanding of their psychological condition and was able to implement effective strategies in stress management independently. This finding confirms the importance of the role of counselors in post-disaster psychological recovery through Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach information services as a form of early intervention that is adaptive and relevant to the needs of post-disaster victims. ABSTRAK Bencana alam tidak hanya menyebabkan kerusakan fisik, tetapi juga memunculkan gangguan psikologis yang signifikan pada korban pascabencana yang terdampak. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran konselor profesional dalam program konselor profesional pascabencana melalui layanan informasi dengan pendekatan Problem Based Learning (PBL) sebagai bentuk intervensi psikologis untuk membantu manajemen stres kepada warga Jorong Nagari Bukik Batabuah, Kabupaten Agam, Sumatera Barat. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus yang menggambarkan secara detail suatu masalah dalam konteks faktual. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, pemberian layanan informasi pendekatan Problem Based Learning (PBL), dan dokumentasi selama pelaksanaan layanan. Intervensi difokuskan pada pemberian layanan informasi menggunakan pendekatan Problem Based Learning (PBL) mengenai stres pascabencana, pengenalan gejala stres, serta pelatihan teknik relaksasi pernapasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih baik mengenai kondisi psikologis mereka dan mampu menerapkan strategi yang efektif dalam manajemen stres secara mandiri. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya peran konselor dalam pemulihan psikologis pascabencana melalui layanan informasi pendekatan Problem Based Learning (PBL) sebagai bentuk intervensi awal yang adaptif dan relevan dengan kebutuhan korban pasca bencana.

Abstract

Nomophobia, defined as excessive anxiety due to the absence of access to smartphones, has become a widespread psychological problem that disrupts students' concentration, motivation, and academic achievement. As many as 84.2% of high school students in Indonesia have been reported to experience severe nomophobia symptoms. This quasi-experimental study aims to test the effectiveness of group counseling services based on the Cognitive Behavior Modification (CBM) approach integrated with self-management techniques in reducing nomophobic behavior among high school students. A total of 20 eleventh grade students (aged 16–17 years) at SMA Negeri 17 Padang were divided into two groups: an experimental group (n = 10) that received five sessions of group counseling based on Cognitive Behavior Modification (CBM) with self-management techniques, and a control group (n = 10) that received conventional counseling. Data were collected using an adapted version of the Nomophobia Questionnaire (NMP-Q) (33 items, four dimensions, α = 0.781) and analyzed with nonparametric tests (Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test and Mann-Whitney U Test) at a significance level of α = 0.05. The research results showed that the experimental group experienced a significant decrease of 41.3% (from M = 121.7, high category, to M = 84.7, low category), compared to the control group which only decreased by 12.9% (from M = 116.4 to M = 105.8). Statistical analysis showed significant differences both within groups (Wilcoxon Z = -2.803, p = 0.005) and between groups (Mann-Whitney U = 11.500, Z = -2.911, p = 0.004). Group counseling based on Cognitive Behavior Modification (CBM) integrated with self-management techniques proved effective in reducing nomophobic behavior through cognitive restructuring and self-regulation, and is therefore recommended as a structured intervention to address technology related anxiety in educational settings.
