Abstract

This community service program aimed to address the unique premarital challenges faced by Generation Z (aged 18–24) in Indonesia by providing an interactive premarital counseling talk show. The initiative responded to key issues including low literacy on healthy marriage foundations, misconceptions about marriage preparation, limited access to professional counseling, and deficits in interpersonal communication skills. The method employed a participatory hybrid approach combining offline seminars, role-play conflict simulations, documentary screenings, and expert-led group counseling. The program reached 200 participants, consisting of students, young workers, and entrepreneurs. Results indicated significant improvements in knowledge across key areas, especially relational psychology (from 42% to 87%) and marriage law (from 31% to 68%). Most participants (89%) successfully applied active listening techniques. Supporting factors included peer-led discussions, contextual materials, and gamified assessments. Challenges such as low male participation and technical limitations in rural areas were mitigated through gender-specific modules and print-based learning. The program proved effective in enhancing Generation Z's readiness for marriage through inclusive, co-designed, and sustainable educational strategies.

Abstract

Peer groups are a primary source of reference for children regarding perceptions and attitudes related to lifestyle. As individuals mature and become adolescents, they begin to become familiar with a broader environment than their family. The socialization they experience increases. Individuals begin to interact with their peers. This bullying phenomenon can emerge in social interactions among peers, as both children and adolescents spend more time at school, making interactions with peers and teachers an integral part of their lives. The impact of bullying is psychological, including symptoms of depression, anxiety, fear, insecurity, restlessness, suicidal ideation, low self-esteem, increased isolation, drug abuse, and other health problems. Other impacts of bullying include feelings of fear and weakness that can affect their self-confidence. This situation can make adolescents who are victims of bullying unable to follow or pay attention properly in class. Based on the bullying phenomenon mentioned above, it is important to follow up.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to prevent bullying and strengthen the mental health of elementary school students through holistic education and natural counseling. The background is the increasing psychosocial vulnerability of students due to social dynamics and limited mentoring services in schools. The method used is a descriptive participatory approach at Muhammadiyah Hutalambung Elementary School, South Tapanuli Regency, involving students in grades IV–VI and teachers. Activities include problem identification, anti-bullying education based on natural values, group natural counseling, integration of character values in learning and extracurricular activities, and reflective evaluation. Data were collected through observation, reflection, and documentation, and analyzed qualitatively. The results show an increase in students' understanding of bullying, empathy, emotional regulation, and self-confidence. In addition, teachers experienced increased capacity in preventive and responsive mentoring, resulting in an inclusive, safe school climate oriented towards strengthening students' character and psychological well-being in a sustainable manner.
