Abstract

Hypertension is a prevalent health issue, particularly among the elderly population in rural areas. Community-based health efforts, such as those implemented through Elderly Integrated Health Posts (Pos Pelayanan Terpadu Lansia-Posbindu), rely heavily on the capacity and knowledge of health cadres. This community service program aimed to improve the knowledge and awareness of Posbindu cadres in RW 04, Cipangeran Village, Saguling District, regarding hypertension. The intervention was conducted through a planned and structured health education session, delivered by a professional community nursing educator. A total of nine cadres participated in this activity. Pretest and posttest assessments were carried out to measure changes in knowledge. The results showed an increase in posttest scores compared to pretest scores, with the average knowledge score rising from 62.22 to 81.11. Overall, this activity demonstrated that health education is a useful method to enhance the health literacy of community health cadres, potentially contributing to hypertension prevention and control efforts at the community level

Abstract

Stunting merupakan salah satu masalah gizi kronis yang berdampak serius terhadap kualitas sumber daya manusia di Indonesia. Pencegahan stunting dapat dilakukan melalui peningkatan konsumsi protein hewani yang berkualitas tinggi, salah satunya berasal dari ikan lele. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada Selasa, 2 September 2025, di Posyandu “Bina Harapan X” RW 10 Desa Cipeundeuy, Kabupaten Bandung Barat, dengan peserta sekitar 60 orang yang terdiri dari kader posyandu dan ibu balita. Metode kegiatan meliputi penyuluhan berbasis multimedia, penjelasan pembuatan ekstrak ikan lele dan demonstrasi pembuatan abon lele dengan dukungan infografis, serta diskusi interaktif. Respon peserta selama kegiatan memperlihatkan minat yang besar terhadap materi dan keterampilan yang diperagakan, khususnya pada proses pembuatan ekstrak ikan lele dan menggunakannya sebagai bahan abon ikan. Produk abon dari ekstrak ikan lele dinilai praktis, bernilai gizi tinggi, dan berpotensi dikembangkan menjadi usaha keluarga. Kegiatan ini menjadi strategi efektif berbasis komunitas dalam mendukung upaya pencegahan stunting di tingkat desa.

Abstract

Irregular breakfast habits in early childhood may adversely affect physical growth and cognitive development. This study aimed to describe breakfast patterns among early childhood education students (PAUD) based on direct observations by educators. A cross-sectional descriptive design was employed, involving 234 PAUD practitioners in West Java through a WhatsApp-based community. Data were collected using a single closed-ended question distributed to all community members and analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. A total of 116 valid responses were obtained. Results showed that 68 participants (58.6%) reported that almost all children had breakfast every day, 45 (38.8%) stated that most children had breakfast but not daily, and 3 (2.6%) indicated that many children arrived without breakfast or had only a drink. None of the respondents reported uncertainty or a lack of observation. These findings suggest that although a majority of children maintain regular breakfast habits, a substantial proportion still demonstrate inconsistency. Community-based digital observation allowed for rapid and contextually relevant field data collection. The results may serve as a foundation for promotive and preventive interventions through nutrition literacy and healthy breakfast campaigns in PAUD settings.
