This waste management has great potential because the raw materials are free and reduce the pile of waste in an environment that supports zero waste agriculture. This service program aims to train the people of Curahpoh Bondowoso Village to process coffee waste into cascara tea and crafts. This activity is carried out through socialization and practice of making cascara tea and coffee leather craft dolls. There were 20 participants who took part in this activity. Abstract

Farmers’ dependence on the use of inorganic fertilizers triggers a new problem when the rise in inorganic fertilizer prices happened because Indonesia’s government remove the subsidy for some fertilizers. The farmers in Jelbuk village, Jember district has abundant cow dung from their husbandry waste. An amount of 129 cows are potential husbandry for Baru Muncul Farmers Group aside from their farming daily activities. The waste could be the main ingredient for bokashi compost fertilizer. Jelbuk village also has a compost house that hasn’t been used yet since 2017. This community service aims to activate the compost house by using potential waste from cow dung. This activity was conducted in some stages sequentially socializing, training, making compost, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and compost application. All stages were well followed by Baru Muncul farmers, from socializing to compost application on pakcoy mustard. Finally, the compost house becomes active again and is used by Jelbuk’s villagers as a fertilizer processing place.

Abstract

Vanilla is one of the export commodities with a relatively high economic value. One of the problems with vanilla cultivation is the health of vanilla seedlings. This study aimed to determine the best concentration of growth regulators from bean sprout extract to vanilla seed cuttings with some variations of plant media. This research was conducted by observing changes in shoot length, root length, number of leaves, and root volume in plant samples due to providing various types of planting media treatments and PGR fertilization. This study was designed using the Completely Randomized Design method with two factors. The treatment composition of growing media with bean sprout extract concentration showed a significant effect on the growth parameters, which affected the observation parameters, including the number of leaves, shoot length, root length, and root volume. The best bean sprout extract concentration was 10%, and the best-growing media composition was soil and manure.
